The Struggle In Philadelphia - Gain Understanding Using "The Timeline" As A Management Tool

Most people think transactionally.
They are presented a compelling story, as is the case in the video above, and then are compelled to assign their personal views to the struggle that is before them thus providing the activists with the new lease on life that they need to struggle on.

I don't require that anyone agree with my opinions.  
I only ask that you accept that your antics "in the struggle" can be easily documented. 
With the advent of each new generation of young activists, largely unaware of the history that had a person - just like them - in the very same position on the protest lines - initiated an action against the school system - no one tells them about the SUCCESS in placing "favorable people in power" to run their public policy.   Fewer people dare to tell them that once they had the rule of the roost the results did not turn out so good.

It is my assessment that the "permanent strugglers" must necessarily make educational administration a NATIONALIZED struggle because it allows them to shift their focus from the tough reality of having to deal with the physical children as a means of expressing "quality education", instead they can protest against (or shill for) the national administration FOR "quality education".

(as you see from the video).... The strongest indictment that the activists can make is that the students within the school system of Philadelphia are being screwed - financially.

Scroll back to the first days of this blog and you will see my arguments over how the dramatic differences in assumptions about GOVERNMENT define the distinctions between conservatives and progressives.  Few other cities bear this out better than Philadelphia.

From a first hand vantage point I can attest to the fact that the longitudinal struggle for control over Philadelphia was focused upon two key entities:  The Municipal Government and The School District Of Philadelphia.

The assumption was (I will spare you and not repeat the words of the activists that are still burned in my mind) that once they took over the rungs of power that they now protest against, putting forth more favorable public policy - the key points of discrimination in resource allocation, lack of awareness of the unique needs for Black people and representation of more Black faces in the city government and school - would lead to a grand fix to what ails the Black community.   (To be clear - "Black AND Progressive" was the driver.  Between the two they would prefer a Progressive of any color to the alternative).

The missing element in their struggle, as we now see, is the need to focus on maintaining and growing a TAX BASE.

Please rest assure that during my days as a student in the Philadelphia Public School System - the "Perfect 1.0" in school financing was toward the lily White "Northeast Philadelphia".   The reports were that the Black schools in West/North/South Philly received the hand-me-down instructional materials from the White schools. 

Now that Philadelphia has experienced a massive exodus of White people from the schools - the activists have now expanded their indictment across political boundaries to where the White Folks now reside. 

The point that is missed in this scheme - which is very effective at assuring the congregation that their movement is just - is - that the primary reason why the State Of Pennsylvania agreed to give the city its charter and the school system its charter is the assumption that both are fiscally solvent entities - able to raise sufficient local taxes to affirm their continued existence.

Indeed education remains as a state constitutional function.   While the state has franchised the operation of the educational services to the local school system - it still retains its constitutional obligations to work in the best interests of educating the children.

This assumption is why the state of PA took over the School System of Philadelphia after it failed a series of academic performance decrees that it was compelled to attain.

If we fail to talk about the POLITICAL and RACIAL aspects of this state intervention (the situation in Detroit is working from the very same model) then we fail to understand how entrenched incumbent forces, desperate to retain their power - are prone to retain the Black people that they have failed into their congregation by making the case that the Black leadership that the state seeks to push out of power are themselves victims of a racist attempt to remove Blacks from power - no different from the Post-Reconstruction South.

At the end of the process "The Blacks" can be heard arguing:  "Indeed while our children are being failed.....we LIKE the leadership that is failing them.  The understand us better than your people who we got rid of for failing us Black folks.  At least our people are not racist against Black people."

Again - speaking from first hand experience - a significant number of "Black people who can" also move out of Philadelphia.   South Jersey, Delaware and northwest suburbs of Philadelphia that few Blacks would ever had dared move to just 30 years ago - are now the recipients of many young Black professionals who do not see the School District Of Philadelphia as a credible option for the education of their children. 

Ironically - the political salivating over the fact that the suburbs of Philadelphia, once a Republican stronghold - are becoming more purple, shifting to blue as time goes on - are beneficiaries of "Flying Progressives" who are exiting the dysfunction of Philadelphia but retaining their party and ideological loyalties.

While the "Black Political Analysts" don't care to talk about the matter - the point that must be made IS:     Your drive for PARTY LOYALTY on the front end has short term benefits in your goal for retention and propagation of power - it also fails to generate the EFFECTIVE GOVERNANCE that is needed to keep the machine apparatus in check - focused on delivering effective services for the people and growing the tax base as an attractive city to live in.

Instead instead of fighting against the machine - THEY MOVE - leaving behind "Mission Accomplished Zone" - just as the masses have struggled for over time, but, zones of incompetence and dysfunction.

If you get nothing else out of this post - PLEASE understand the key distinction between the forward aspirations of the political operatives to gain more political power for their machine VERSUS the advancement of the Black community's permanent interests - measured independently from what ever POPULAR action that the congregation is compelled to follow.

We are more likely to generate complicit silence with these grand struggles that place "favorable people in power" as they seek to avoid hitting "their guy" who is now in power - than we are to receive effective outcomes - as measured by the advancement of the fundamental issues that the Black community got into politics to pursue in the first place.

Two Black Women On The South Side

(Speaking of the south side of Metro Atlanta...................)

In making my way on a grand shopping trip this holiday weekend I ran into two Black women who's presence drew upon me in dramatically different ways. 
(OK - now that I think about it - I have to remove all references to the hundreds of Black women that I saw [and lusted over a few of them] at the Atlanta Caribbean Carnival.  They are beyond the scope of this post.)

Y'all Need To Learn How To Dress In Public
As I walked into a department store I saw a Black woman walking out with tattoos all over her arms, chest and neck.  None on her legs for some strange reason.  The first thing that I thought of was the time in the future when she will be as old as my grandmother, having to explain away her youthful indiscretions as she tries to establish a moral reference for their actions.  (NO I am not saying that tattoos are 'immoral'.   Without question though - they attempt to project a message about the person's individuality.   Unfortunately - as it gets over done - it becomes a uniform, showing one's compliance.
Sadly - but increasingly the young woman without a tattoo is the one who is showing her own uniqueness - a resistance to going with the flow.

As I made my way through the mobile phone section of the store: BAM - a "butt crack" on a young attractive Black woman was staring back at me.
 
The two points of conflict that ran through my mind was:

• How do I approach her and tell her that she is producing a show for the people behind her
• How do I take a picture of this for presentation on my blog - without being seen as a pervert or voyeuristic.

I saw another Black woman walking behind this girl who is in the picture.  SURELY she was going to tell this "sista" in this predominately White store to "Pull UP"?   NOPE!

The most difficult task of my "brother undercover" surveillance is the challenge of taking someone's picture yet not having them see you take their picture.  I see many Street Pirates during my travels.  The one thing I am not going to do is to provoke one by taking a picture of his antics - (85% of them being the act of the "peacock stroll" in which his boxer shorts are prominently displayed - hoping to attract a female who believes that this foolish display looks attractive.

I decided to pull out my phone - as if I was reading the screen and snap a picture from a distance.
NO people - that is not a "thong" running down the middle.  That is 100% butt crack in the flesh.

As I made my way around the display with the intent to tell her to "You are showing a bit too much for people behind you" -  she and her girl friend stood up, thus cancelling the "booty show".

This Sista Is More Than Her Dress 

Same day - a few hours later - I was tasked with getting some dinner for the family.

My son and I placed an order for pick up at a local restaurant.  I took our seats near the front door as we waited.

This time a middle-aged Black woman came into view (see picture). 

She told the cashier that she was here to pick up 300 wings.   The cook came out from the back and said "No.  You told us 5:30. Its only 5 now.  They are not ready yet".

The Black lady was disappointed in herself.  She recalled that indeed she told them 5:30.   She told them that "the doors open to the graduation at 6 and that she needed to get dressed and into the auditorium before it gets crowded.  She needed the wings beforehand to set up at 'the church'.

I saw her think about a strategy to work out the conflict.   She asked the cashier if she could pay now and then come back after the graduation to pick up the wings.  They said "sure".  
Then she thought up a better plan - Her neighbor would come right now and pick up the wings and take them to the church - freeing her up to go to the graduation.

As she waited for the restaurant to run her payment card I said to the woman "You have a pleasant disposition about you.  What church do you go to up the street?".    It was true.  Not a hint of anger or frustration did she show in response to the challenge.  I could tell that she was calculating a solution in response to the time constraints.   She told me the church's name but then told me the location and I said to her - "Oh the church with the large parking lot in the back." .  "Yes" she said.


"My son is graduating from ___________________ High School.  He is the valedictorian and we are very proud of him".  
You go girl!!  (No I did not say that to her).

I told her "Congratulations.  I know you are very proud of  your son.  I can tell that he had a strong mother guiding him along the way.". 

I asked her what her son planned to do now.   "He plans to go to Georgia Tech to study electrical engineering". 

My son then said "Georgia Tech!!??  That's where I want to go."
Then she made his day.

"You will love it there.  It is a very good school.  I can imagine seeing you graduate from there one day.   My daughter wants to go to University Of Georgia".

"My sister wants to go to UGA too", he said.
Of course when we got home - my son repeated the story to his sister - with great excitement.

Notice how the more accomplished "Black woman" with a greater set of references about herself will win no awards for cosmopolitan dress. 
Within an hour's time, however, she would be feeling like "Cinderella" as she is in the audience as her son, who she invested so much of herself into, is the sole speaker in front of a microphone, charged to articulate a vision for his classmates as they matriculate through to the next phase of their lives.

When you have a website run by White folks named "Stuff Black People Don't Like" it goes without saying that your goal is to go through America's problem and then execute a "Keep Black People On Trial" so that Black folks always come out as the guilty party, even when the population proportion numbers make it highly unlikely that you are PROPORTIONALLY correct.

I agree with the large template of some of the arguments.  The antics of the "Civil Rights Pharisees" and the "Black Racial Services Machine" (Black community's political operations) are more committed to theatrics than actual DEVELOPMENT of Black people through strong community institutions.  The author of the blog, Paul Kersey, appears to be a resident of metro Atlanta and thus he, like me, is treated to a daily stream of their antics - that ANY rational person would grow suspect over.

The problem with Mr Kersey's own antics is that he already knows that Black people are the reason for whatever problem he seeks to focus upon.  His blog post merely reserve engineers the pathway to the guilty conclusion.

If 50% of the houses in metro Atlanta are underwater - only a mentally depraved person could conclude that Black people are to blame.  I assure you that Black people are not 50% of the home owners in metro Atlanta.   Not that this matters to SBPDL.

While the City of Atlanta proper has a Black majority population, metro Atlanta is only 32.4% Black.

Again - for SBPDL's claim to be true they need to establish the fact that this Black population is over-represented in its home ownership numbers and the number of people who are under water.

By the way "under water" means that you owe more in mortgage debt than the present appraised value of your house.

I can say - without hedging my bets - that the claim that SBPDL are inaccurate and that they could not make the case that BLACK PEOPLE are the reason why these metro rates are as they are.

FACTS WHITE BIGOTS DON'T WANT YOU TO SEE

The shameful fact is - the White Bigot AND the "Economic Bigot Who Is Black" draw upon the same base of assumptions in order to make inaccurate conclusions.  As this graph shows clearly - the Black home ownership rate has NEVER cracked 50% in modern times.   This should put down the claim that BLACKS are responsible for the "under water" conditions at present AND the notion that "The Greatest Transfer Of Wealth Out Of The Hands Of Black People Took Place Via Predatory - Subprime Loans".    With respect to the later claim - your systematic failure to build up internal governing systems via the INSTITUTIONS that "favorable people" now govern will be the greatest loss of POTENTIAL WEALTH that should have been produced through your people - far, far, far greater than the loss of wealth that you can see BECAUSE a bank and a county home appraiser told you so via a printed report.


There is no question that Blacks make up a disproportionate amount of poor people in this area.
There is no question that there are "foreclosure hotspots" in Black areas of Dekalb County/Clayton County/Fulton County.

The issue of "under water" is centrally related to the present reduction in appraised values of one's home.   The home appraisal price is centrally related to the mortgage financing and sales' industry estimate of the price that a NEW buyer would pay for the home in question if it was to be placed on the market.

The point that SBPDL doesn't want to mention is that the MAJORITY of neighborhoods in metro Atlanta have experienced substantial loss of home values.   The only point up for debate is that some communities experienced more losses than others.   It is true that a recent television report showed an analyst who said that Cobb, Forsyth, Fayette, Henry County and the Buckhead area of Atlanta did not suffer the precipitous losses.   While these areas are indeed majority White - it is INCOME, not race that define their character.

SBPLD specifically point to Henry and Fayette Counties on the south side of the metro area and how the influx of Black people means that these counties won't be able to remain financially stable via their ability to maintain their tax base.   This is patently false.  Mr Kersey draws upon his own bigotry against Black people more than fact as a basis for his assumptions.

From previous research - both Henry and Fayette have a 21% to 24% Black population at this time.  Further - both have zoning laws that prefer single family homes with a minimum acreage in an attempt to dissuade the construction of "shotgun shacks" (small, "affordable housing") and an abundance of apartment buildings. 

Neither county have their own public transportation system, for linkage to another bane of Mr Kersey's existence - MARTA - the transit system for neighboring Fulton and Dekalb Counties.

So there you have it - both Henry and Fulton have drawn in Blacks with an wealthy or professional upper-middle class profile to their respective counties.  I noted some years ago that the average Black income for Fayette County, for example was higher than the White average income.  This was due to the fact that while the far larger White community had a fuller range of incomes represented (middle class to wealthy) - the smaller Black population engineered their relocation to Fayette County as working professionals or as financially prosperous older married couples who were leveraging the value of their previous home as leverage on their newer, larger home in Fayette County.

It is clear that SBPDL has no interest in limiting its arguments to the facts per their knowledge of its base of readers who want to be fed damning information about Black people to fit their assumptions.

It is true that Henry and Fayette County have had recent county revenue shortfalls, causing them to draw upon their reserve funds.  This comes in the context of general recessionary conditions in which ALL metro counties have had to substantially restrain their spending or make outright cuts to municipal workers and teachers.

The real challenge for SBPDL - IF they intent to be a credible news analysis site for bigots - is for them to take the opposite analytical approach from what they presently take:  Explain away the impact that the wealth advantage has for White people as the means of proving that "Blackness" - in and of itself - represents a threat to economic stability for a given area.

You get no argument from me that (some unknown force among....) Black people - need to "tighten it up".  Beyond the focus on the shadow presence of bigots watching our every move and thus WE RESPOND TO THEM - we need to have a greater consciousness of ourselves, always working to LIVE UP TO a standard that is in line with this desired standard of living.

NO this is not the "White People Are The Perfect 1.0" that the National Urban League has fixed upon.

When you have an ORGANIC STANDARD OF LIVING the benefit is:

• Your standard of focus is most likely higher than what the national average is - so, by definition you are going to exceed any negative racial indictment against you
• Those elements of your standard which are less than what your long time critics and antagonists believe you should live up to become less relevant BECAUSE you have settled in your own mind that YOUR STANDARD is in line with your high standard of living and thus you are no longer seen attempting to DEFEND THE INDEFENSIBLE.   That which you also agree is reprehensible BUT FOR the presence of a bigot, which compels you to take an opposition stance. 

 One day Stuff Black People Don't Like is going to take an honest look at the $16 Trillion national debt - make note that with Black people as only 13% of the population and such a small set of the population in the US House and Senate and thus they are forced to conclude that THE MAJORITY in these halls of power must have a greater proportional blame for this catastrophic condition than the BLACK PEOPLE - who's guilt in the matter merely appeases the present mental consciousness of a bigoted White who is not interested in the truth.

These people in power love SBPDL just as I note how the progressive establishment love watching "Black Politics".  In both cases the GUILTY PARTY understand that they will always be let off of the hook by a "Bigoted Mall Cop" who opened the front door for the real shop lifter because he did not fit their bigoted profile.

Time Capsule Content For The Cultural Consciousness Archeologist 2200 And Beyond - Why The Negro's Consciousness Was Delivered To You In Such A Manner - The Black Press

My only hope is that some time in the future the abundance of electronic content that is generated today is archived for use by various Cultural Consciousness Archeologists to study about this society, some 200 years in the future.

If I have it my way those who receive a doctorate degree in "Present Black Consciousness Studies" will work their way through this treasure trove of information. 

My job is to drop some bread crumbs that will lead them on a pathway to the truth.

If they understood my analysis properly - they would be compelled to rise above the "Self-Chum Feeding" sessions by which "bread and circuses" are feed to Black people (see below) as a means of conjuring mental associations that the "Paid Blacks" in the media intend to propagandize.    The real issue is that there is no INSTITUTIONAL INTEGRITY left in the balance of these forces.

Two Artifacts From My "Civil Rights Freedom Walk" Today 
(During The Atlanta Caribbean Carnival In Downtown Atlanta )

In the wake of the news that of the debate over the requested demolition of the "Atlanta Daily World" building on Auburn Avenue and the closing of the sale of the "Atlanta Life Insurance" building to Georgia State University - I made it a point to sneak away from the parade and take some pictures of the key historical buildings that represent Black Atlanta's commercial past.

There is no question that as these key artifacts sit idle and "unpurposed" the growth of the neighboring Georgia State University applies pressure to these buildings or the land that they sit upon, compelling them to yield to the demand for educational facilities or student housing.

The greater attack on the conscious memories of "Black Atlanta", beyond the threat of the wrecking ball taken to these buildings that sit underutilized as they warm a part in the hearts of the "Civil Rights Pharisees" is the pile driver that is attacking the Black community's consciousness about itself that is coming from today's fraudulent "LampBlacked Yellow Journalist Press".

My argument (which will be buttressed by the video below) is simple.  A matter of REFERENTIAL INTEGRITY.

IF you are the key agents in the build up of a rogue group of operatives who's messaging content propagated INTO the Black community AND then you are latter found seeking to use this rogues gallery to utilize their relation of CONFIDENCE that they have built up with the Black community to compel the "Congregation" to do something that you ultimately want them to do - it is YOU - the Fraudulent Confidence Middle Man - that needs to be inspected for your antics.

While you claim your integrity is based upon the large contingent of Black people in the congregation that you have amasses is evidence of your good will - A more transparent analysis of your (fraudulent) antics would require a more qualitative review of where these people stand relative to their fully actualized CONSCIOUSNESS and their ability to support the "Collective Goals" that you dangle in front of them as a lure to do what you want them to do.

We only need to read the video artifacts to see that, in this one case - "Atlanta's Rolling Out" magazine's only agenda is to compel Black people to NULLIFY the realities of their present, disconnected as it is from the struggle that great men and women like W.A. Scott has cleared for them - and instead they now turn to the "Bread And Circuses Contingent" in the popular entertainment and excess community for use as "character references".

Several months ago when I saw a swarm of 'Civil Rights Pharisees' get in front of a microphone in Detroit to tell the congregation that they need to stick together to protect the "Largest Black Run City Outside Of Africa" from.............................Bankers and State Republicans who were trying to steal political power from the elected leadership CHOSEN BY THE PEOPLE OF DETROIT- my post observations and pronouncements became even more clear to me:

In the present prevailing CONSCIOUSNESS of the Black Community - it is a mistake to assume that what is POPULAR among US is also EFFECTIVE at developing our people.

It is abundantly clear that the forces that have taken dominate control over the "Black Community Consciousness Nucleus" - having us focused on RACISM CHASING and gaining yardage in the "Malcolm X Political Football Game" - are the same people with the most to lose IF the Black Rank & File sees that without more internal governance control.  This internal governance would have these forces that are molesting our interests necessarily put outside of this control center.

I am not sure if many of you see the contradiction:

On our way to struggling for EQUAL TREATMENT by America at large - the Black community proves that it has massive disrespect FOR ITS OWN.

How much more disrespectful can one be than to note that you are ALL ALONE in a "sanctuary" - you get to define the rules for the CONGREGATION.  

With this power you also know that if you retain an agreement among the masses - YOU CAN DO ANYTHING YOU DAMNED WELL PLEASE - and the people will support you as you understand the SUPERIOR focus that is fused in their mind:  STRIKING OUT at the enemy on the other side of the line of scrimmage.

The same spirit within this prevailing consciousness that seeks JUSTICE FOR TRAYVON MARTIN - doggedly following this case for months on end.  (I support anyone's right to invest their time any way they choose to)..............................

.......................While at the same time the news of  yet another INTERNAL attack in Detroit, Philly or elsewhere is NOT used as evidence that assailants believe "Black Life Is Cheap".  

Instead the effort is to either not talk about it OR assign some larger indictment as to why the "Would Be Pillar Of Our Community" has been forced into the life of "Street Piracy".

In either case - there is an intent to play "Hot Potato" - moving the indictment outside of the Black Community and its ADULT GOVERNORS - over toward a figure that the majority can agree - Don't care for Black people.

Once the "Racism Chaser" is brought to the point of satisfaction that there are SUPERIOR forces working to destroy Black people - he achieve a certain mental state which helps span the gap between what HIS VIEW of the world within his mind - SHOULD be the case and how these forces who are doing all that they can to undercut the development of Black people are the real problem.

Sadly for them - they can't see that while indeed the latter may be true - a portion of this force SEES HOW THEY THINK, knows they have an EQUAL BLACK BALLOT and thus they understand that by channeling the "Negroes Development Struggle" into VOTING.....................they will have more "Equal Black Ballots" in their coffers than the hypothetical "costume jewelry" that the late Republican senator Barry Goldwater said he could use to get money from Black people.

IF your enemy is of a known quality - IN YOUR MIND...................................
What makes you think that his SNARLING FOX partner who is using "sugar" - doesn't have the same ultimate agenda with you?

Sadly you can't even stand firm on your DEVELOPMENT AGENDA lest you see this truth.
With this present bigoted consciousness - it would be JUST for you to lose everything that you chose to yield as you compromised yourself.

The Perceived Threat To The Black Community From The Civil Rights Hustle	The Artifacts - You Are Not Required To Believe Anything I Say.  The Facts Bear Out The Truth
The Stop And Frisk Policies Which Had 72% Black People As Its "Victim"	Philadelphia Inquirer - New York Mayor Takes Pot Shot At Philly Over Stop And Frisk "Why would any rational person want to trade what we have here for the situation in Philadelphia? More murders? Higher crime?" Bloomberg asked rhetorically. He was responding to an editorial in the New York Times calling that city’s stop-and-frisk program "abusive" and suggesting that "New York should learn from Philadelphia," which is operating under a consent decree after the settlement last year of a class-action suit brought by the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania. The ACLU alleged that Philadelphia police were illegally stopping and questioning pedestrians based on race with little or no justification. When Mayor Nutter took office in 2008, the number of pedestrian stops began to increase. That year, the city counted 15 percent fewer homicides than in 2007. In 2009, Philadelphia police stopped 253,333 pedestrians, 72 percent of whom were African American, according to the ACLU suit. The number of homicides declined that year, too. In 2011, the homicide count began to track higher. As of 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Philadelphia had 137 homicides for the year. That is nearly a 10 percent increase from the same day last year. If the killing continues at its current rate, the city will record its worst year for homicides since Nutter became mayor. Nutter Responds To NY Mayor's Comments On Stop And Frisk Bloomberg - "Philadelphia is a great city but it has highest murder rate of any of the 10 largest cities in country," the mayor said. "And the number of murders is going up." Nutter - "I don't think that the lawsuit we had or the settling of that suit has led to any particular increase in crime," he said. "What leads to an increase in crime is people with bad behavior acting like idiots out on the streets."

But this is Philly, which has the highest homicide rate for African-Americans among the nation's biggest cities – and a place where the risk of being killed is especially high for blacks under age 18. The possibility of a short life and a violent death weighs on African-American teens like Andrea Williams, Sierra Daniels, and Christopher Fuller, though they seem to shoulder the burden as if it's just an extra load of books. Andrea worries most about her younger brother and sister, afraid one of them will get hit by a misguided bullet fired by someone bent on revenge or protecting turf or just venting anger. "Sometimes I hate to walk down the street with them, because I couldn't live without my little brother and sister," she says. Nationally, the murder rate for African-Americans is more than three times the average: 19 black murder victims per 100,000 people versus five for the general population. In Pennsylvania, the disparity for black homicide is even more pronounced: 30 per 100,000, or six times the national average, according to a study released last month by the Violence Policy Center (VPC), a gun-control research group in Washington. Those numbers are "disproportionate, disturbing, and undeniable," says the VPC report, which analyzed crime data from 2004 in its study. Moreover, almost 80 percent of black murder victims in the US were shot and killed with guns, the study found. Philadelphia follows the pattern. The vast majority of black murders in the city – 3 in 4 – are from gunfire, according to police. Overall, murders have been on the rise – 406 last year. Of those, 317 were gun-related, compared with 233 four years ago. And it's the city's black residents and neighborhoods that feel the effects most acutely. ******* But the fact that Philadelphia homicides are concentrated in neighborhoods with young black men can actually be a disadvantage when trying to solve homicide cases, Schneider said. “Police are aware that homicide concentrates in African American communities, which led the New York and Philadelphia areas to instigate aggressive stops of young men with the idea that this will discourage people from carrying weapons,” he said. “In practice, police stopping African Americans with great frequency has a counterproductive effect — it reinforces this notion that the police aren’t there to help you but are just another obstacle. It’s very difficult to invent a type of policing that can make a dent in the homicide rate.” This mentality instigates the no-snitching code, a concept that “sets in motion a self-perpetuating cycle that just worsens the homicide problem among African American neighborhoods,” Schneider said. Sociology professor Sam Preston, who conducted a study in 2006 on mortality rates in Iraq and U.S. cities, believes that this is not an issue unique to Philadelphia. ********** But absent from most of the discussions, most of the rallies, most of the righteous anger and all of the remarks from an increasing plethora of Black leaders and media figures is the other national disgrace — the abominably high murder rate among young Black males. “This is an epidemic that’s been going on too long,” said Mayor Michael Nutter in a recent interview. “And unfortunately, you will find African-American males at the bottom of good categories and at the top of negative categories.” Last Thursday, Mayor Nutter spoke at a rally in Love Park regarding the Martin killing. Nutter said people are concerned over Trayvon Martin, but also need to be outraged over what’s happening on their own street corners. “How is it possible that thousands of Black men, thousands of Black people, [are] killed every year, and no one says a word?” asked Nutter in a published report. Community leader and anti-violence activist Bilal Qayyum, who is also working with other community leaders on the new media campaign Live and Let Live: Promoting Peace and Eradicating the Culture of Violence, also questioned the Black community’s lack of outrage over the meaningless killings that happen in its neighborhoods every single day.

The observation of the new interval in time that the Black Community is presently in with regard to our community issues is not going to be mailed to us via certified letter.

We see - if you are even looking in the first place - that the struggle for POLITICAL POWER, in which "favorable people are now in power" - is either going to turn into a scheme by which we are asked to LIVE VICARIOUSLY through these leaders as a point of pride OR - their presence - along with the POLICY BUNDLE that you affirmed when you invested your 'Black Community Development Consciousness' into them must be keep in line with the PERMANENT INTERESTS that you pursued upon making this investment.

They want you to VOTE.

They tell you that VOTING is the highest level of civic participation in a democracy.

I agree.

It is when the METHODOLOGY of VOTING is promoted higher than the EFFECTIVE ENDS that you chose to vote in the first place is lost as your consciousness is melded into a POWER BUILDING SCHEME - that one must take a step back and place a firewall between the interests that those who want you to keep voting harder have in mind and YOUR COMMUNITY INTERESTS - which are clearly not being addressed.

 When this "Embedded Confidence Man" function is set up as a BROKER between the political realm where voting resides and the promised Black Community Development initiative that people's grievances about their condition resides - BUT the people fail to erect a buffer around their interests so that they are not lead along for the CONFIDENCE RIDE - we get "Mission Accomplished Cities" like Philadelphia, Detroit and others - the METHODOLOGY of VOTING got "Favorable People Into Power" - yet despite having the same negative attributes befalling the Black community - instead of protesting against the present occupants of the seats of power - just like you used to do - you are easily convinced that the "bastard" in the higher rung of political office who is on the enemy team is your primary source of oppression.

You don't need to agree with my analysis (even though I am watching you from multiple fronts and know I am correct).

Just tell me the down side of you insisting on a firewall between your POLITICAL operations and your "Black Community" operations -ASIDE from the fear that if you withdraw your emotions (you can keep your vote) from the "Malcolm X Political Football Team" - that the TEAM will lose as it is no longer able to rile you up and get you on the streets on game day?

You haven't thought that there might be a day in which you are all alone, by yourself, and that opposing side is no where on the field to be found.

West Philly - Mitt Romney Faces Push Back In "Obama's Neighborhood" While The Koreans And Indians Dominate The Retail Space

(Editors Note: Dear Cultural Consciousness Archeologists From The Year 2200 and Beyond - PLEASE READ THIS POST As You Try To Understand WHAT DID THE AFRICAN-AMERICAN Do After He Got HIS FREEDOM To End Up With The Consciousness He Was Delivered To You During Your Day)

Remember my "man on the street" review of Lansdowne Avenue in West Philly?  This is my reference to my visit in April in which I drove home from a sports bar after the NBA playoff game around 11pm  The only businesses open at that time were "Chinese Fast Food joints" selling food and beer to Black people.  These businesses were abundantly spread out for the length of this key retail strip through West Philly.


Well this very community is in the news.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt "Willard" Romney chose to make a visit to the "Universal Bluford Charter School".  The school's name is in recognition of Guion Bluford - an American Space Shuttle astronaut who was born in Philadelphia. 

(Let me get the politics out of the way first, prior to getting into the core issues - and ironies)

The name "Mitt (Willard) Romney" heard in West Philly triggered a wave of Democrats to come out to show Romney that he was not welcome in "Obama's Neighborhood".

On the outside of the building various union members lined up outside to protest Romney's visit into Philadelphia - a city where the Democrats outnumber Republicans 6 to 1.  Even the mayor of Philadelphia, Mayor Nutter gave Romney an "F" on education.  Keep in mind folks that the School District Of Philadelphia is under control of a state sponsored school reform board after having been judged as a failing school system.  I would be remiss if I failed to note that Mayor Nutter looked outside of his city which lays so many Black murder victims to rest each year and looked down in Sanford Florida to proclaim that "Trayvon Martin was assassinated". 

I have stated my observations previously that the most effective Black "confidence men" leaders are the ones that have mastered the skill of sensing the building grievances from the congregation that they stand before on stage, redirecting their angst outward and then LEVITATING off of the stage and toward the exit door as they lead the masses on a march.  The primary benefit of him in this role is ........the grievance rally NEVER seems to pass by his own office.

MSNBC - "The Black (Progressive) Agenda - For A Stronger America" had something to say about Romney entering "Obama's Neighborhood".    Despite the fact that Mitt Romney has never been in position to single handedly fail Black people's permanent interests on "Quality Education" - those forces that are in this position gave Romney and "F" on education.

Various Democratic operatives and unions appeared outside of the "Universal Bluford Charter School" at  47th and Master to give "Willard" a piece of their mind.

During a round-table discussion, teachers and local education leaders rejected some of Romney's education prescriptions, including his assertion that class size doesn't matter. Romney also identified two-parent families as one of three keys to educational success, along with good teachers and strong leadership. Local education leader Abdur-Rahim Islam pushed back, telling Romney that two-parent families are unrealistic in the community. "We will never get to that second part described about having a two-parent situation, parent support, as a key component," Rahim said.

Black voters, who four years ago helped expand the electoral map in places such as  North Carolina and Virginia and lifted Obama to victory in those states, remain solidly behind him. An Associated Press-GfK poll this month found that 90 percent of black people would vote for Obama in November and just 5 percent would support Romney. At the same time, just 3 percent of black people said Romney "understands the problems of people like you" better than Obama does.

"It's nice that he decided this late in his time to see what a city like Philadelphia is about," Nutter said. "I don't know that a one-day experience in the heart of West Philadelphia is enough to get you ready to run the United States of America." Besides discussing his policies with nearly a dozen local education leaders, Romney also visited with children. He shook hands with a classroom of third-graders and stood virtually motionless for several minutes, bobbing his head ever so slightly at times, as a music class sang and danced for him. During the discussion, the school's founder, Kenneth Gamble, told Romney that his "major concern is the future and the destiny of African-American people in this country. Because once that problem is solved, I think that all of America will benefit from it." Romney said he agreed.

PHILADELPHIA — Mitt Romney ventured into one of Philadelphia’s poorest neighborhoods on Thursday, visiting a charter school to highlight his education proposals. West Philadelphia, notorious for its gang and crime problems and rampant poverty, is also home to the Universal Bluford Charter School, one of a network of schools in the city that target inner-city children. Romney rolled out his education platform for the first time on Wednesday, focusing on school choice and an expansion of charter schools for inner-city youth. He opted for a charter school that’s run by a Philadelphia-based non-profit and took over a troubled public school. But the charter school is on warning from the state because it hasn’t made academic progress in the first two years of its existence. Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter, a Democrat, held a press conference on the corner, bashing Romney’s record on education while he was governor of Massachusetts. “I don’t know why this guy’s here,” said Nutter. “[He] has suddenly somehow found West Philadelphia, somehow now wants to talk about education.” Nutter, speaking in front of a 2012 Obama sign, pushed the message the Romney is out of touch with regular voters. Romney's campaign bus pulled up early outside the Universal Bluford Charter School on 57th and Media Streets, much to the surprise of most locals. Philadelphia, after all, is a city where Democrats outnumber Republicans more than 6-1. As word spread that Romney was there to discuss education reform in a closed-door, 90-minute roundtable, neighbors gathered outside the school to protest the visit. And residents had no friendly words for the GOP presidential candidate, especially when they learned he would not venture beyond the well-maintained walls of the school to the surrounding blocks, lined with rundown rowhouses. "Why is he here?" asked Zulema Canty, 37, one of a few dozen people gathered outside the school. "A few months ago he said he didn't care about the poor, he was more concerned with the middle class. . . . This just seems like some PR thing. And now he's going to go on TV and say he was here, when really he wasn't here." Supporters of President Obama were also on the scene, part of an effort by Democratic leaders - the unions, City Council members, and other elected officials - to chastise Romney outside the Bluford campaign stop. By the time Mayor Nutter and District Attorney Seth Williams arrived for a news conference near the school aimed at criticizing Romney's record on education, a crowd of 50 residents and Obama backers were gathered on the sidewalk. Chanting "Obama's neighborhood" and "Down with Romney," the irked neighbors initially booed Nutter and Williams, mistakenly believing they had asked Romney to come to the city. "I did not invite Mitt Romney to 58th and Media!" Williams told the crowd. Nutter added that he had not, either. Nutter then criticized Romney for making a trip into the heart of West Philadelphia and choosing not to step outside and speak with voters. "Instead of getting back on his bus, he should walk the streets," Nutter said. "You want an urban experience, then come out and talk to people." Universal Bluford, a K-6 school that serves predominantly economically disadvantaged children, is one of five schools run by a nonprofit funded by music mogul Kenny Gamble. The school is in its second year of operating at the Bluford site, which was formerly part of the school district.

"Instead of just talking at the school and getting back on his huge bus, he should come out, he should walk 60th Street, he should talk to folks who are out here that are mad so maybe he could understand how real Americans, those that live here in urban America, the issues that are important to us," Nutter said at a press conference organized by the Obama campaign just outside the school grounds. "I don't know that a one-day experience in the heart of West Philadelphia is enough to get you ready to run the United States of America," he continued, flanked by District Attorney, Seth Williams. Nearly 40 people from the community gathered to protest, chanting "four more years" on the school corner holding signs reading "If Mitt Romney Wins, the Kids Lose", and "Obama 2012" re-election campaign posters. Philadelphia Mayor stood before a podium adorned with Obama re-election signage and slammed Romney's education policy, saying his Massachusetts record is not a "model for the nation," and dubbed him "wrong-way Romney" Continuing his second day of education focused events, Romney's visit to the charter school in a predominantly African American neighborhood marks the first campaign visit with grammar school kids and one of few where he's ventured into Democrat territory in a plighted urban setting.

Calling the gap in education performance between black and white students "the civil rights issue of our time," Romney said quality teaching and parental involvement were the keys to classroom success.

ANALYSIS 
 Black Americans warming to Obama MEANS NOTHING in the quest for development of communities like the one I am familiar with in West Philly.

The ironies seen in all of the quotes that I have highlighted points to one thing:  THE PREVAILING BLACK CONSCIOUSNESS TODAY IS CONSUMERISM.

With all due respect - What is POPULAR with Black people in this prevailing consciousness has little relation to what is PROVABLE to develop Black people. 

Philadelphia and other "Mission Accomplished Cities" give all who care to study the situation ample evidence of this disconnection. 

Again - the people choosing to VOTE in another direction would not be evidence of a new found consciousness.

We must understand (as a Philadelphia native) this present condition in West Philly comes after a 40 year run for POWER over our communities.  The rhetoric which said "Once we get favorable people in power who love our Black children and care about the Black community......things will change for the better".  

By all measures this point of reference that I heard more than 25 years ago by educational actor-vists has been achieved and passed by.   Due to the void in governing infrastructure within the Black community there is no "INVESTOR PROTECTION" that would tend to resist struggling some more until the results from the last struggle are reconciled.

Instead we have INCOMPETENCY IN DEVELOPING BLACK PEOPLE that is produced by the Political/Ideological Tribalism that the "Embedded Black Fox Confidence Men" love to promote.
Their hearts were warmed by the Obama loyal Black protesters telling Romney to "Go Somewhere" than they ever have to worry about these same people looking at their present fate, making note of the INVESTMENTS that they have rendered in the growth of the present machine and refusing to take another step forward.

With great pain I note the Korean merchants that will be feeding this crowd of protesters as they return back home after Romney's bus departs to another, less hostile venue.  

The ironic part of it all is that the charter school movement that is in full blossom in Philadelphia is being driven by conscious parents and educational activist like Kenny Gambel BECAUSE the stock PUBLIC SCHOOLS in Philadelphia are failing to educate Black kids!!!

When you move beyond the theatrics that are seen in the crowd (and on the award winning Filled Negro blog) the painful truth about the ironies of the situation - indeed - justify the intoxicants that can be purchased from the Koreans.   Just slide your money through the slot in the bullet proof glass and then they will give you the bottle or six pack of your choice.

The incestuous relationship between:

1. The Elected Officials who KNOW who they are dealing with - happy for the diversion
2. The Union operatives and Community Activists who are good at riling people up but who don't ever have to stand by the conditions that they produce when they "WIN"
3. AND the Black Rank & File - despite suffering in the conditions that THEY ADMIT are problematic - can't see that they are CONSUMERS rather than INVESTORS

This part of West Philly is indeed the "Mission Accomplished" territory that is more like Philadelphia Mississippi than some people would care to admit:

1.  Ninjas Are Getting Themselves Kilt in a SYSTEM that does not want to change in response to "Dead Black People"
2. The BIGOTS that dominate the place have shown their incompetence at producing justice - and will ultimately need an external force to envelope the organic results that are produced when they are left to their own devices.

I am a Black man who is crying inside.  I am not "better than you".  I am just not in the tank as many of you all are.

If I didn't have this outlet I would turn to violence - like the Occupation has done - over what it sees.
While the occupation is angry over economics - my issue is related to what PURPORTS to be "Black Community Thought".
Just as you are prone to look at the "Would Be Pillars Of The Community" who do things that make them into "Street Pirates" as they see that this SYSTEM does not offer them a way forward - THIS is my expression of "Street Piracy" against the "Black Racial Services Machine" and "Prevailing Black Political Consciousness" as it proves itself to be "100% Equal Human Beings" and thus able to express fraud and corruption in a measure equal to its enemy which it believes to be SUPERIOR in its capacity to fill the hoodie of "The Dark Scythe"

Just think about it.   If Ossie Davis captured your "spirit" more than 3 decades ago and rendered it to film - what are the chances that certain external forces who can rent this same movie to STUDY YOU (or - even worse - an Embedded Confidence Man within your ranks who watched the film went to these external forces) with the knowledge that there is a certain method by which to play the "Confidence Scheme" on ANY PEOPLE who don't have sufficient safeguards to PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM .................THEMSELVES.

If the REAL Christian Preachers were about their job - they would be looking past the present dust up that has the Black community riled up and instead detail the messages of "Denial Of SELF" in support of long term goals that they have been preaching.  If this was the central theme of their sermons - 90% of the FOOLISHNESS would be eradicated out of our community.

As I listen to "you all" and read your works (who are 'you all'?  - Black Progressive Fundamentalists purporting to be representing and protecting the interests of the Black Community ) I  gain a better picture of the "grievance glasses" that you wear.

The "Establishment Power Repudiation" scheme that you run is based upon your "boil the ocean" mental construct that your viewpoint triggers upon you.    It is profitable for you to ignore the tremendous success you have amassed in "Keeping Black People Congregationally Unified" - successfully translating our grievances into political power for your "Black Racial Services Machine" and your "Progressive Joint Venture" - than it is for you to dare to break ranks and demand from what you have been encamped withing:  WHERE IS OUR BLACK COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT THAT YOU PROMISED?

ONE WHITE MAN has the POWER to do something that justifies your shift in the Conscious Attention of the Black Community - outward to this latest threat - rather than INWARD - as someone checks to see if the LOOT is still in the vault that you were allowed to guard - per the popular mandate that you have orchestrated.

Despite the fact that an estimated more than 2,000 Black homicide victims nationally have been transacted in the 3 months since Trayvon Martin's untimely death (assuming a base of 9,000 Black homicides per year) - when your own conscious awareness about the condition of your community DOES NOT mandate that you stand up as a manager, but your mandate for "congregational unity" makes rhetorical activism more popular - the denial that the machine that you have invested in with the promises of safer communities achieves yet another escape in accountability for the shortfall in returns on investments.

In Cheryl "Jill Tubman" Contee's article one need only enumerate the targets contained in order to understand the REAL source of her angst:

1. The Hoodie as a symbol
2. (right-wing) Supporters of George Zimerman
3. Bill O'Reilly / Fox News / News Corp
4. Racial Profiling
5. Wall Street vs Silicon Valley 
6. Right-leaning bloggers
7. Police "Stop And Frisk" policies (ironically adopted to enforce local gun control laws)

I would be remiss if I failed to note that Ms Contee's grievances were published on "The Grio.com" - MSNBC's (NBCUniversal Media, LLC's) farm team for "Black (Progressive) Thoughts" in its high profile fight against News Corp.   Indeed "Black Thought" has been ensnared into an ideological, corporatized battle - akin to the "Malcolm X Political Football Game" that we were warned about in the 1960's by the great visionary voice who is the namesake of the game.

The challenge in collating Ms Contee's arguments with the actual facts on the street of Black America - is that she and those who argue using these same tactics are forced to use INDICTMENTS rather than statistic fact - regarding "What Ails The Negro Community Today".

When your agenda centrally involves using INDICTMENTS to retain the 'congregational unity' among Black people the dual mandates are:

• "Keep Your External Enemy On Trial" in order to emote the strongest response
•  Use know INDICTMENTS that trigger known responses among the congregation - with a commitment to fact based data as a threat to this agenda

The other day - yet another operative in the "LampBlacked Yellow Journalist Press" cog of  the Black Racial Services Machine had his callers riled up over the "shooting of our Black sons on the street" .  The news that 94% of "Ninjas Who Get Themselves Kilt" are at the hands of another Black person is not enough to blunt the propaganda feed from "Jack and Jill Politics" or the "AfroSpear" coalition that it belongs to.  Using the reasoning of her fellow "The Grio.com" cohorts - Black people should be PACIFIED with the knowledge that with White folks other people they too kill their own in the highest proportions.

But wait!!!  Note the contradiction.

When they sense that Black people are being verbally attacked by White folks other critics - they argue  that our rate of intramural murder is in line with White folks other people.   When it comes to Trayvon Martin, however, this INTER-RACIAL murder is evidence of "Racial Profiling triggering hunting season on young hooded Negroes - sparing the cost of incarcerating them in the New Jim Crow Prison Industrial Complex".    (I await an expose' featured on Media Matters or their employee Oliver Willis' [award winning] blog in which White right wing Republicans are caught thanking George Zimmerman for saving the taxpayers of Florida some money.)

The reduction of either Trayvon Martin or Mark Zuckerberg to a cotton garment, sewed in Indonesia is preposterous.  (Note - I just went to the clothes closet - got one of my sweatshirts and obtained the 'Country Of Origin' labeling)

While both of these men are "100% Equal" - Mark Zuckerberg's perceived value comes from a capitalistic that is valued by the markets at $100,000,000,000.
More important than the retention of any dress codes within the wing tipped shoe wearing investment banker meetings that Zuckerberg attended is the knowledge that by committing a portion of his own portfolio dollars into the stock fund that is "FaceBook Inc" would look favorable to the banker's own financial interests and that of his firm.  As such the dress becomes irrelevant - NOT the relevant point that Ms Contee seeks to make it.

(Early on in my career a sales manager joked to the team - "If an ax murderer came in and helped me blow out my numbers...............I would use a part of my commissions to buy him more axes").

As we ponder the value of what PURPORTS ITSELF TO BE "Black Interest Social Media" - those who have no knowledge of "Opportunity Costs" can't bring themselves to do the "Dark Matter Analysis" - thus observing the tremendous amount of squandered "Black Development Hours" that have transpired using this tool called "Internet Communications".

Think about it - the very same Wall Street trader who is firmly in "The 1%" makes use of the very same Microsoft Windows operating system, CPU, keyboard and LCD screen as YOU DO - except his computer is plugged into a "special network" that has her efforts functionally upholding a SYSTEM that produces VALUE that attracts capital from broad masses around the world.

FaceBook itself makes no "products".  Its "products" are the content that YOU have uploaded.   Its value is seen in its ability to FORGE COMMUNITIES among the 900 million people around the world that have a log in account to the service.

The storage of this valuable content attracts millions and millions of Black Americans to invest their TIME on FaceBook (and other social media services) - thus triggering advertisers seeking to attract eyeballs to their products to hand FaceBook Inc - millions and millions of dollars in ad spending.

The moral of the story is - even though YOU do not recognize the value of your UNIT HOUR OF TIME - beyond the "Living Wage" that you demand from your prospective employer - social media sites like FaceBook, MySpace and others don't have to go to YOU to recognize your SELF-WORTH - they go to the advertisers who know HOW YOU THINK.  (See the WVEE "Car And Bike Show Featuring 'Birdman's $8 Million Car' " - Loan Officers Will Be On Hand To See If You Qualify For One Of Your Own).

The Propaganda Platform INTO The Black Community




I have no problem laying out MY AGENDA.
Nothing short of a mass walkout by "Paid Blacks" from their propaganda media positions meant to perpetuate the "Black Conscious Attention Filibuster" that is at hand.

Those who stay employed by their corporate propaganda media maters - per their free speech and voluntary employment rights - will be necessarily trapped within the DEFENSE FILTERS that are erected at the "cell walls" of the Black Community Consciousness Nucleus - preventing an "agreeable Black Face" to lull our people into tailgating.


Some people are more comfortable looking past the FOOLISHNESS that actually compels Black people to FOLLOW ALONG with the CONGREGATION  yet get "OFFENDED" by ME - dismissing me as a "Self Hating Negro".

But for this blog - I would turn VIOLENT (Like "The Occupation") in seeing and hearing what I observe fed to Black people by Embedded Confidence Men who MOLEST our "Black Community Development Consciousness".

The lack of INFRASTRUCTURE by which to develop our people also means the lack of CONTROLS - allowing these Embedded Confidence Men to DO WHAT THEY DAMNED WELL PLEASE - as long as the people approve of it - per their PRESENT CONSCIOUSNESS.

The grand flaw of this strategy is that there is no will to BUILD UP A BETTER CONSCIOUSNESS among Black people - that will affirm our growth as a people, ensuring that we have institutions to lean upon when this present corrupt system collapses in insolvency (and the executives at MSNBC who valued "The Black Vote" as a tool in fighting their Conservative Wolf enemies - now have no need for you)

If the Black Community does not find a way to RETAIN ITS OWN VOICE, providing INSTRUCTION to its representation rather than allowing them to RILE YOU UP for the next POLITICAL BATTLE in the "Malcolm X Political Football Game" - you must accept that - when YOU HAD THE CHOICE to go free - defending your interests against corrupt marauders - YOU chose to be a comfortable consumer - agreeing to punt your grievances down the road, into the next American election - rather than stopping the shrinkage from the shoplifters who are in your storehouse.
