Yes I remember frequenting Yasin's when I was a small child. Now yesterday i went to the one on Ralph David Abernathy Blvd. And went to the drive thru and waited an excessive amount of time to recieve my order. The drive thru window did not allow for a person tot place the money in the cashiers hand I mean tight security for that loccation where other restaurants have regular drive thru window, well anyway after finally getting my order, it was hot and all but the fish was rancid. like it wasn't kept a certain temp to keep it from getting that fishy taste or smell. I was argued with by the little china girl who went and got this black girl who claimed I was being a discrace to black people. I really only wanted my money back at this point so they sent a black cop out to me as if he were going to do something this whole experience gave e a glimpse of the coming state we are about to experience, but i'm not having it!

Personally I feel that they need to compromise. They are just arresting people. They are not giving any options.There are not enough services available for all the many homeless and all the many different variety of problems. How can the homeless with limited resources, get affordable housing when even the waiting list for section 8 is three years long?? What are they expected to do while waiting 3 years. Even after they get out of jail.... where are the going, but back to the same place they came from and get locked up again. This of course costs the city more $ to house, clothe and feed the same people who had the chance to make it for themselves! Let's not get into the cost and time of the officers, who in my opinion could be put to better use.

The issue about demanding a trial for George Zimmerman IS NOT the "Fraud".

The fraud was in PROMOTING Zimmerman's actions to that of a POLICEMAN because he is WHITE - while no BLACK KILLER was EVER said to be acting "Police-Like" because he is too INFERIOR to fill this role - despite the same deadly results.

Now they will accuse you of playing the "victim card". Fox news, and many other political outlets do play that card when they only talk about black on black crime when an youth is killed by police, or in this case crime watch. You keep the issue alive all the time. Don't give up.

In St. Pete we have 50 killers roaming free because the police will not arrest without a witness who will go to court. No one wants their name used. When we break down the no snitch rule we will have the level of police protection that most people take for granted.

This doesn't mean I am not concerned about Trayvon, it means I want to prevent the common everyday tragedy we see.

BTW, Zimmerman and his local Neighborhood Watch were a disgrace. They broke all the rules. We have a real crime watch that now deals with anger from people who mix us up with that mess in Sanford.

In the context of "The Great Depression" and, later, "Post-WWII" you had better believe that the White Conservative COMMON MAN (put aside the political leadership and their rhetoric) ultimately CONSUMED the proceeds from these government programs. Strom Thurmond supported the farm programs from the government for "White farmers". He certainly was never a liberal. The book "When Affirmative Action......" made the case that "structural racism" was added to the New Deal Policies in order to retain the economic stratification - particularly in farming (land owners versus share croppers who were not included in on Social Security, for example)

The Conservatives - as always, let it be known where they stood with regards to cutting "the Blacks" out of the deal. It also noted that White Progressives - aware that in order to advance the "Progressive Public Policy" (that the White Conservative was all too eager to take as well) - they had to cut Blacks out. I am white. As a matter of practice I avoid blacks on the street as unknowns. I also avoid whites on the street as unknowns. Not worth getting mugged for anything, by anyone.

I suspect that my food has been tampered with in predominantly black neighborhoods. Can't prove it but suspect it happens by the attitude of the service. Too bad their parent(s) neglected teaching them anything about kindness.

The problem is a lot more complex than you or Mr. Constructive feedback seem to realize. If you HAD been following the case, you'd know that Trayvon's murderer followed him and more likely than not was the aggressor. Given that, Trayvon would have been pummeling and smashing you in his own self defense - making you a murderer for shooting him.
Another issue is that Trayvon is not a "black community hero.". He's evidence of the kind of racist and classist brutality under which black Americans have always lived in this country. He's evidence of the fact that Americans are indoctrinated w/ the belief that blackness is bad and that black life -especially black male life- has no value. No matter who uses this case for political gain, people at-large care about it for its familiarity and its relevance to the lives of their own sons, brothers, fathers. It's especially disturbing to my generation. We were reared on the ideas that race didn't matter and that if we were "good" enough, we'd be treated just like everyone else. Trayvon helped many of us realize that the American concept of "good" is intertwined with the concept of "whiteness" -so much so that the concept of ANY "other" is inherently bad. This is true especially for the concepts of "black" or "blackness."
