"The Gun Show Loophole" - The "Voter ID Stops Election Fraud" Fetish For The Progressives

Do you ever notice that the rhetoric which says: "Even If This New Legislation Stops One Gun Death, It Is Worth It" is adopted as the raison d'ĂȘtre with regard to GUN CONTROL.

Yet when their right-wing enemies argued that "Voter Photo ID Would Eliminate Voter Fraud" these same people pointed to the low amount of voter impersonation fraud at the polls and argued that it was a "Solution Looking For A Problem".

WHAT ARE THE FACTS ON THE GUN PURCHASE TO MURDER PIPELINE?

A ghost gun is a gun that has no serial number to identify its sales/purchase history.

This is a valuable commodity for those who are engaged in criminal activities because it scuttles  the ability of the police to solve crimes by tracking the ownership of the gun.

GUN SHOW PURCHASES

  1. Retail Sales - Every retail gun show dealer is required to have a federal firearms sales license.  Every person purchasing a gun from this person is required to have a standard background check
  2. Gun Collector Sales - people selling heirloom weapons and buy and trade these artifacts without a background check
  3. Private Sales Between Individuals - just as there is nothing stopping you from selling a legally purchased gun to a friend in your house, a private individual can hang out at gun show and sell his firearm to another person.  They are not officially registered with the gun show but take advantage of the fact that the gun show is in town.
How many "Gun Show Guns" are used in crimes?    The most recent study showed 2%.

At the most recent meeting of the American Society of Criminology, a study of youthful offenders in Michigan found that only 3 percent of the youths in the study had acquired their last handgun from a gun show. (Of course some criminal gun acquisition at gun shows is perpetrated by “straw purchasers” who are legal gun buyers acting as surrogates for the individual who wants the gun. Straw purchases have been federal felonies since 1968.)
According to the educational arm of HCI, the group’s own survey of major-city police chiefs found only 2 out of 48 who said that guns from gun shows (both “legal and illegal sales” according to the questionnaire) were a major problem in their city.

EVERY GUN PURCHASED THROUGH THE "GHOST GUN UNDERWORLD NETWORK" IS PURCHASED WITH THE INTENT TO COMMIT A CRIME.
