First I thought to myself: "This Negro Is Crazy. He is going to get a heat stroke".
As I got closer and looked at his face I said "Oh that's Rob Redding Jr".
My subsequent thoughts were: "Rob Redding clearly has a strong mind and lots of discipline about himself. He talks about his dramatic weight loss and how he has kept it off for many years. No person who lacks such a strong will and commitment would be seen putting in the time that he did, during this swealtering heat as everyone else drove by with their air conditioning on".
"I Do Not Hate Rob Redding Jr" - My True Opinions, And Analysis
Though Rob Redding has a show that appears on Sirius XM "The Power" and is nationally syndicated on terrestrial radio - I know him from his presence in the 7pm time slot on Atlanta's WAOK AM.Just to give some perspective - more than 10 years ago when WAOK transitioned to an all-Talk (Black Wing Grievance Talk Radio) format it was Rob's show that motivated me to purchase several hundred dollars of AM radio signal amplification equipment so that I could listen into his show in the afternoons. (I am still saddened that host "Ralph From Ben Hill" had an untimely stroke and had to be scratched from the WAOK line up just as the new format was launched.)
In a combination of - "My views about politics & 'The Fix For The Black Community'" at the time not being sufficiently developed to the present state AND the fact that this new "Black talk radio" format going through the cycle of Bill Clinton and now showing its disposition to an adversarial President in Bush - where the key forces in assisting me to better understand how the cog in the "Black Racial Services Machine" known as "The Black Wing Grievance Talk Radio" fit.
At that time I probably agreed with Rob Redding more than I had disagreed. At the same time none of his disagreements or points of emphasis in his shows were particularly problematic.
Today, my biggest problem with Rob Redding is that in as much as he has defined himself as "An Independent" - I have learned that this is not sufficient enough to show that such a person has the insight to cease and desist from driving Black people to focus upon POLITICS as a solution for certain unresolved issues that POLITICS WILL NEVER CURE FOR BLACK PEOPLE. (Or it might be more accurate to say: In seeking the political cure, while failing to develop our people to provide these desired services in a more organic manner - the LOSS OF BLACK COMMUNITY CONSCIOUSNESS in our competencies, and the further integration with a system that has a $16T credit card balance and growing - might one day place the Black community in great peril).
On WAOK AM
- One wakes up to "Jesus Is A Democrat"
- then goes to "WE Are Democrats" And "WE Are In The White House"
- then "The Republicans Have Blueberry Pie Filling On Their Faces" and "They Have Destroyed Detroit And Want To Steal Our Vote By Carding Us"
- then "I'll Use My Gasoline Draws To Fill Up My Tank To Drive Anywhere The WHITE MAN Has Offended The Present Consciousness Of Black People. Even Though I Watch 'The First 48 Hours' And See Y'all Ninjas Killing Each Other, My Civil Rights Lawyer Friends Can't Get Paid By Suing Street Pirates For Wrongful Death"
- finally the broadcast day ends with "Independent" Talk Radio
Rob Redding Jr builds himself up as something distinct from his mates, but always seems to end up where they stand, merely taking a different route to arrive there.
I have no mandate that "Political Independence" necessarily be opposition to the incumbent powers. Rob Redding is 100% justified to support "ObamaCare", "The Occupation" and to desire have a whirlwind protest against all arms of "News Corp".
My problem with Rob is that he would never think to walk across the hall to where Greg Street plays his "Hip Hop Voice Of The Street Pirate" music and break the needle of his record player BECAUSE the ignorance broadcast to hundreds of thousands of ears does more damage than the good that the "Greg Street Foundation" does in packing a hand full of kids into an auditorium for a reading contest once (or a few times) a year.
In summary - Party affiliation (or lack there of) is IRRELEVANT when you can't define a larger construct as a guide for solutions:
- The proper function of local government versus state and national
- The delineation between what the adults in the community must do versus what the local government has the obligation to do in support of a particular community standard
- In the world of OPPORTUNITY COSTS - while your eyes are focused upon Sandord Florida - what about the thousands of Black people that have been murdered around the nation since that time? While indeed an issue might draw PASSION from Black people - can we conclude that this is COMPETENT GOVERNANCE of the resources assigned to them or merely POPULISM?
The Black community suffers from the "Embedded Confidence Man" effect today.
The voices - of the Black Press - that SHOULD BE working to protect the interests of the Black community from usurpation are themselves so involved in the scheme to USE Black people as a loyal voting Black for the victory of "The Team" that the unique interests and expectations of the community must necessarily be degraded down to the lowest common denominator.
While Rob Redding disagrees with President Obama and the Progressive Supremacists on their acceptance and advocacy of "Gay Marriage" the larger point remains and goes unchallenged - THEY HAVE PROVEN THEMSELVES INCOMPETENT AT PRODUCING AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE RATES OF TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY HAS BEEN SUSTAINED, FOR THE STABILITY AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMMUNITY.
The damage that politics and "teams sports" do to our community consciousness is that this important matter is reduced to the issue of "How will Obama's reelection chances be harmed or helped by his 'outing'?".
The Black community existed long before "WE were in the White House with Obama" and it will be around long after the "First First Family To Make Us Proud" has its professional movers return them back home to Chicago with a 24 hour armed guard to defend them.
The "Confidence Man Effect" (as I will show via a "Fox News" segment on the Black unemployment rate) compels Black people to protect IMAGERY and OPTICS even as we are asked to place our organic community interests into forbearance.
For Rob Redding the news that the Republican US Senate leader vowed to "Make Obama A One Term President" and that Eric Holder said "We are a nation of cowards when it comes to discussions of race", motivates him to look past all of the INVESTMENTS OF "COMMUNITY GOLD" that has been compiled in support of the machine that dominates the local, state and federal representation of Black people - ALL FOR THE PURPOSES OF defending against some perceived RACIAL SLIGHT that a WHITE CONSERVATIVE SOMEWHERE has slapped "us" with.
- I don't see Mr Redding making the case that the incompetent governance of the local "Mission Accomplished School Systems" as such an offense to Black people
- I don't see Mr Redding making the case that the "Would Be Pillars Of The Community" that suffer from benign neglect as the Black community has its collective attention focused on the "White Hispanic" or "White White" who murders an unarmed Black man, our communities suffer as they assume the consciousness of a "Street Pirate". While the White Klansmen received their consciousness from the communities that they were brought up in - Black people are LOATHED to make this same connection about the "Home Grown Street Pirates". Most certainly the 87 year old Black woman who was shot in the head in SW Atlanta this weekend will not garner the same support - and it is not because of the lack of Skittles at the crime scene
Is Rob Redding A "Black Flight Occupier"?
Fayette County Georgia is one of the Conservative/Republican dominated arc of counties to the south of Metro Atlanta (Coweta, Fayette, Henry and Spalding).
I have documented the large influx of (what I call) "Black Flight Progressives", the label used to define Black Progressives who assisted in the build up of the political machines in Atlanta, Dekalb County, Fulton County and Clayton, only to perceive that their "personal interests" being compromised with the "baby" that they have birthed and subsequently deciding to MOVE IN WITH THE IDEOLOGICAL ENEMY.
I welcome fellow Black people who prove, though subtly, that they value the very same things that my family and I value when we moved into this environment nearly 20 years ago.
It is clear that they read the very same reports about the conditions in their former communities. They now see that it takes more than a "perpetual struggle" against the external ideological adversary to achieve the desired ends for the community. In fact when YOU represent the "Establishment Power" there is a change in tactics that are necessary.
The difference between those who seek favorable outcomes through competent governance versus those who merely seek to demagog can be noted in their ability to "stay on the rails", focusing on "What We Must Do" inside of the domain of control, rather than constantly moving the goal posts, focusing the "Black Community's Conscious Attention" upon the "self-chum" that one knows they like the flavor of. (ie: RACISM CHASING). While indeed a measure of appeasement is obtained with the later strategy. Few will also note that the resulting damage is a function of the imposition of this scheme. The guilty party can conclude that "a long legacy of STRUCTURAL RACISM" is the reason why their take over did not bear the fruit that was promised.
Over the decades long struggle few of the new "Occupiers" will notice that the past protests in front of "The School Board" and "City Hall" are now bypassed because the "enemy" now sits in the state house or in Washington DC. Wisely, the "Embedded Confidence Men" kept the protests away from where their dear friends sit in local office.
The irony between Fayette County and Clayton County Georgia could not be more stark. (As of now) the one is as staunchly Republican as the other is Democrat. We should note which of the two Mr Redding (and others) have chosen to settle in. But this part of the tale is not about Rob Redding.
Over the past few years the Fayette County NAACP was motivated to file a lawsuit against the Fayette County government board and the Fayette County School board based upon "Voting Rights Act" violations. It seems that the "All-At-Large" voting scheme in the county was preventing the majority Black citizenry in north Fayette County from electing a candidate of their own choosing onto the county board and school board.
Here is the technical part of my rebuttal. The NAACP wants you to believe that they value "THE PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC CHOICE" above all else and are not motivated by putting a "favorable Democrat" into office in a Republican dominated county.
What we need to agree upon is that the "Black Permanent Interests" are focused upon QUALITY and alignment with a desired STANDARD OF LIVING. The process of VOTING is merely a METHODOLOGY to get to this desired end. The NAACP profits when they have you focus on the METHODOLOGY (and the team that you favorably associate with) and not the desired end.
We only need to note that the voters of Clayton County have indeed voted to place "People They Favor" (per their present conscious understanding) into power. Over the years this has proven to be a blunt instrument strike upon the permanent interests of the Black community.
Yet the NAACP (of today) shows its true character as it understands that with their "Favorable People In Power" in Clayton, Atlanta, and Dekalb - it has no intention of filing a lawsuit in regards to the damaged "permanent interests" of the Black community living within these confines. This would cause the NAACP to sue many of its own members that are in power.
By not being tied up in lawsuits against their "Permanent Progressive Supremacist Friends" the NAACP and Civil Rights Pharisees had their time freed up to sue north Fulton County over their creation of "Super White Cities", which threaten to take away "county-wide social justice money".
There is no getting away from the simple question that must be asked: Does the NAACP value POLITICAL POWER over the DEVELOPMENT OF BLACK PEOPLE? The very same model of behavior that I note in the above "Protection Racket" is at work today in Newark, Philadelphia, Detroit and Chicago. They would have us to believe that by asking EVERYONE for a Photo ID this is voter suppression of Black people. (A Pennsylvania state official said as much). Yet there is NO NEWS that can stream out of these Mission Accomplished Cities where the Black Vote goes UNMOLESTED, into the OFFERING PLATE that the NAACP prefers - which can force the NAACP to place its Progressive Supremacy into forbearance as it demands of the "Progressive Fundamentalist Joint Venture" that it has aligned itself with to PRODUCE the ORGANIC DEVELOPMENT that the Black Community had invested into.
We are more likely to here the Civil Rights Pharisees take credit for the fact that Black men like Rob Redding can live in a Republican County without being lynched than we are to hear them note that the "Black Flight Progressives" are LEAVING the "Mission Accomplished Zones" because they fear being murdered or assaulted by a "Street Pirate" and that it won't be labeled a "Civil Rights Violation" even if the exact same vectors of attack are used.
I believe that the only way to convince the NAACP about this impending threat is to have them take notice of the great losses suffered during redistricting. With the South picking up several seats in the US House due to great population loss in the "Mission Accomplished Zones" - maybe it is time to check in with their joint venture partners and suggest a bit of an IDEOLOGICAL POLICY shift so that these places might come back to life as the people can find jobs to motivate them to stay where they are and VOTE in a favorable manner?

Unfortunately, yes. Some people (all colors, shapes, and sizes) would sell their soul just for power.
"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."
Now what to do about this situation?
