The "WE Are In The White House Report": The WHITE FOLKS In Michelle Obama's Family Tree Now Claim Her As Her Own, Unlike Thomas Jefferson's Family And Sally Hemings Kids

As if to mimic the tendency of most Americans, including the Founding Fathers, to say as little as possible about slavery, and either to deny or avoid discussing its brutality, the painting, Virginian Luxuries appears anonymously (undated and unsigned) on the back or unseen side of another painting.” Sally Hemings, a Black female who was enslaved, per the laws of her day, was a forced mistress of then President Thomas Jefferson. When the news that was long whispered, indicating that Jefferson was the "baby daddy" for Ms Hemings' children and thus the family linage of today argued for recognition by the existing White offspring at their formal events that recognize the patriarch of their family, a great amount of consternation was triggered within the family and among those who sought to protect the "honor" of Jefferson. They settled upon the belief that it was Thomas' brother who was the father of Sally's children, not the "most honorable" President of the United States. As such they agreed that the Black Hemings kids living today are indeed genetically related - just don't claim that it was THOMAS that "hit it".

I lay out this history of "White Supremacy" and forced servitude (with the crude editorial liberties) as a means of setting up the case of DENIAL that had been created and sustained in proud White families who desired to refrain from discussing such "tawdry matters".    Even though their "Slave population" got more "light skinned" with "good hair" as time passed the "master" was always able to put the blame on the overseers under his employ as he himself maintained that he had too much dignity and honor to "lay with a slave girl"..........that he owned.   (Hey right)

This blog is committed to expanding beyond the INDICTMENTS that are abundant in American history and make note of how all of this relates to our present situation.

Indeed - as I listened into "Black Conscious radio" (www.wrfg.org "Friday Night Drum"/"What Good Is A Song") as they distinguished themselves from "run of the mill Africans" because they made reference to their "SLAVE BLOOD" that runs through their veins - I noted one thing about their claim.   Despite the fact that a particular ideology is blamed for being "anti-science" - never allowing facts get in the way of their ideology.........the truth is that THERE IS NOT ONE OUNCE OF GENETIC DIFFERENCE between:

• Africans Living In Africa Back In The Year 1300
• Africans Who Were "Enslaved" In America In 1845
• Black Folks Who Are Alive In America In 2012

Since there is only ONE species of human beings on this planet - we can only say that the increase in PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES expressed in the human form (skin color, hair texture, average size, size of lips) are ALL based from MATING DECISIONS resulting from heterosexual copulation.  

THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS "SLAVE BLOOD"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The term "Slave Blood" is a SOCIO-POLITICAL construct that has been manufactured to appease the present prevailing consciousness among the Negro of today.

He could have just as easily laid the claim to "African Blood" that runs through their veins today. The problem is that the LINKAGE that they seek to construct to "their ancestors" is one of VICTIMIZATION rather than PRIDE - per their ability to effectively expressed "Self Determination" that allowed them to survive and thrive when they were "All Alone, All By Themselves.  Their Social, Cultural (Male/Female relationships and Conflict resolution skills)  and Economic choices (labor and resource distribution)  being the primary determining if they live another day or perish - with the sun leaving their bones to be bleached in the blazing sun.

In as much as "Black People Are 100% Equal Human Beings" - it is important that we make note of the recent article detailing how the White folks people  in Michelle Obama's family tree have used DNA testing by which they affirm their affiliation with the "First Lady Of The United States".

The white men and women buried here are the forebears of Tribble, a retired bookkeeper who delights in her two grandchildren and her Sunday church mornings. They are also ancestors of Michelle Obama, the first lady.
The discovery of this unexpected family tie between the nation’s most prominent black woman and a white, silver-haired grandmother from the Atlanta suburbs underscores the entangled histories and racial intermingling that continue to bind countless American families more than 140 years after the Civil War.
The link was established through more than two years of research into Obama’s roots, which included DNA tests of white and black relatives. Like many African-Americans, Obama was aware that she had white ancestry, but knew little more.
Now, for the first time, the white forebears who have remained hidden in the first lady’s family tree can be identified. And her blood ties are not only to the dead. She has an entire constellation of white distant cousins who live in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Texas and beyond, who in turn are only now learning of their kinship to her.
Those relatives include professionals and blue-collar workers, a retired construction worker, an accountant, a dietitian and an insurance claims adjuster, among others, who never imagined they had black relatives. Most had no idea that their ancestors owned slaves.
Many of them, like Tribble, 69, are still grappling with their wrenching connection to the White House. “You really don’t like to face this kind of thing,” said Tribble, whose ancestors owned the first lady’s great-great-great-grandmother. Some of Tribble’s relatives have declined to discuss the matter beyond the closed doors of their homes, fearful that they might be vilified as racists or forced to publicly atone for their forebears. Tribble has decided to openly accept her history and her new extended family. “I can’t really change anything,” said Tribble, who would like to meet Obama one day. “But I can be open-minded to people and accept them and hope they’ll accept me.”

You can click on the link above to get the official reading on how the Tribble family came into awareness of their famous relative that is now in the White House.   That is not the story line that I plan to pursue in this post.

The proper analysis of this tale is the story about how a subject that most Whites who were descendants of White males who sired children with a Black female that was, by law, under their control (and ownership) are inclined to not recognize this "branch" of their family tree because of the brown bark that covers it.  When it came to First Lady Michelle Obama's connection with them, however, it was her stature - as provided by the AMERICAN SYSTEM and its related structures - that provoked them to go public about their famous association.

Nothing about the intrinsic value of Black people as a whole was changed with this recognition that one Black woman with a certain amount of fame and prestige is related by blood to the Tribble family.  There is a distinction between one instance of valuation versus one's global view of the group.

At the same time - the conscious perception of the value of Black people should not be outsourced out of the boundaries of the consciousness of Black people themselves.  This includes outsourcing to "The System", believing that it will one day "create equality" as it centrally focuses on compelling others to treat you as such based on an array of sanctions if they even think of you as "a Least Of These".

Again I point to the irony of how one Black woman's position in "The System" makes her worthy of claiming her as "One Of Their Own", with hopes of meeting the Obama's one day.  My personal preference is to focus on the larger picture of the condition of the Black community - ensuring that we "Slow The Roll" of our present "Intimate Relationships" so that 200 years from now we can have clearly defined family trees - with two distinct and identifiable veins for each person as we being to restore the notion of the traditional familial construct is the cornerstone of our stability and development of our communities.
