Tavis Smiley Says "The Black Media Has Been Rollled", Constructive Feedback Says That They Have Been Recruited, Assembled And Then "Paid Off" In Their 401K Employer Matching Funds

In this video clip from a recent Black writer's conference, "Hard Left" television personality and public intellectual Tavis Smiley notes the lack of "Black media" present to cover the event.

Mr Smiley notes that in "The Age Of Obama" the Black press is "more important than ever" but has "Rolled Over".

In my view the word "rolled over" hints at both having been duped by a pleasing hand that is rubbing the tummy of the otherwise fierce guard dog.

It is ironic to me that in chiding the "Black press" as necessary to "ask the questions that won't get asked (with the presence of a person who speaks from a 'Black perspective' " that Mr Smiley himself has failed to make the proper assertion as to the reason why the so called "Black press" has its legs up in the air and its spine pressed against the ground - at present.

It is more accurate to say that the Black Press has been ASSEMBLED today. 
The new media has brought us an assemblage of "Paid Blacks" who are given air time and their own "web auxiliary" attached to mainstream corporate media organizations, allowing them to create the "optics" that are necessary to "appeal to the Negro's present consciousness".

If Mr Smiley weren't so encamped in his own ideological entrapments - he would see that as Black people we originally strived for certain OUTCOMES while today we are conditioned to fight through certain METHODOLOGIES.   Thus when there is "methodological success" (ie: the winning of an election) and yet the means through which we are to achieve "intergenerational wealth creation" are squandered (ie: failed schools, violent communities, eroding physical property within our communities) the VOID IN SPEAKING THE TRUTH ON BEHALF OF BLACK PEOPLE is not that there is are no "Negroes with an iPad with Evernote to replace his notepad and pencil of the past".............it is that the Paid Black of today's media was not HIRED to challenge the prevailing status quo..............WITHIN BLACK PEOPLE!!!!!!!    (Some of you all still don't get it.)

Today's Black Media Axillary is best described as an allotment of food pans,  parceled off from the main distribution, targeted at White progressives.

The "Paid Blacks" know that Black people like our food more seasoned and spice as compared to the bland palate of the general audience.    Their goal is to add sufficient quantities of "Soul Food Seasoning" while NEVER being allowed to tamper with the fundamental character of the progressive-fundamentalist entree in the pan.

Tavis Smiley Is Incorrect To Focus On Obama, He Should Consider What He Helped Construct Along The Way


I told you before the two tools that you had between have handy in a discussion of "Black Politics" is the "Time Line" and some other tool that can provide you with your own independently verifiable present coordinates.

Failing to do so allows your debate adversary to define the dimensions of the debate.
If that debate opponent was the "bus driver" that took you on a ride to your present location, and you both suspect that you are off course - he has a vested interest in focusing on shifting the argument away from an inspection of his competency at navigation but instead on compelling you to UNIFY with him so that together you can get back on course in the future - once you get back upon his bus.

Now keep in mind this same person has an inexhaustible number of stories about how the "slave catchers" kidnapped our people and shipped us to a land in which they totally stole from our people our "self-determination", thus taking our GPS and smashing it on the ground.   My problem with this is not my aversion to HISTORICAL TRUTH - I have a problem with people who use history as a cover for their present incompetency at developing Black people after they used these historical indictments to achieve political/social/economic power via the assistance of Black people who expressed their grievances as such.

Out of the above passage the key point is that the person seeking salvation is the one who must retain control of the ONLY thing that he has control over - What his does and thinks in the present.


The Greater Need Is For INSTITUTIONAL INTEGRITY ENFORCEMENT Within What Represents Itself As "The Black Press"

There can be no discussion about Tavis Smiley without the inclusion of his beating with a "Progressive Wiffle Ball Bat" as he made the mistake of assuming that his dear friends "Progressive who are Black" friends were going to tolerate having a favorable President being measured by "the Progressive Measuring stick". 

In this instance there were no "journalistic" or "academic" integrity guidelines to turn to as a means of calling foul upon the opponent. 

Instead what we saw was the  JUSTIFICATION by which the Black Progressive Struggle needs to have at its front and center the struggle against an:

• External 
• Conservative/ Republican
• Racist Threat To Black people

IF this external threat is removed an inter-Progressive Clique gang war proceeds.
 (Note - I will report on the new battle with the SCLC some time later - now that the "Hoodie Marches" have subsided).

If Mr Smiley really was intent on telling the truth he would see that the present Black Political Consciousness requires an "Ideological Strong Man"  at the center in order to keep these fighting factions focused.   "Dr King" is the "Strong Man Emeritus".    President Obama shows how difficult it is to have a sitting president who is also the "Commander In Chief" of the US Imperialistic Military Machine to be the Black Progressive's "Dr King".

They understand that the chances are that THEY will have to accept his compromises out of the mold of Dr King as it is the case that the United States has strong institutions which would not allow a "Dr King In Chief" to compromise his duties as the highest ranking political power in the nation.

This brings me to the real issue that Mr Smiley failed to focus upon...........THE SQUANDERED INSTITUTIONAL INTEGRITY WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY.

Those who are watching you and how you think - per your present consciousness - understand that to YOU - an engagement and a perceived victory against your conservative political enemy is far more important than you actually ever attaining that which you say you are "struggling" for.

When the "Embedded Confidence Men" see that there is a rising set of grievances that might cause the Black political participation rate to decline - they understand their "Job #1" is to field some RACIST THREAT to your very existence that will prompt you to react in a fairly predictable manner.

There are no so called "Black Journalists" that are going to roll back the clock to 2008 or, more especially 1964 and make note of all of the INVESTMENTS that the Black community has made in support of the prevailing political machine in our communities, with the intent on asking:  "WHERE IS OUR RETURN ON INVESTMENT.".

For the bulk of these journalists, such a question is to be evaded because today many of their articles are available on their employer's web pages.  From this research any astute researcher can see that the "Negro Journalist" was conducting the TRANSACTIONAL BATTLES with this external enemy throughout time and thus is complicit in having us arrive were we are at present.   Few are the articles that demanded to see the "navigation charts" of the political machine that he was helping rise to power over our communities.

The question in the graphic to the left, observed by "The New York Times" and "MSNBC (The Grio)" is important for one reason:

It will NEVER be asked OF Black people ABOUT Black people's choice to VOTE FOR OUR SALVATION.


Most people get caught up in the proper formation of the question.
Indeed it is legitimate to ask a White person: "Are you able to put aside race and vote for the best candidate?".   This is due to the lack of diversity in choices along the way.

For a Black person this is not the right question to ask - as it is a foregone conclusion that "Black people do not vote (en masse) for Republicans.  Blacks show a vote of no confidence for Democrats by either not voting or MOVING away from their 'mission accomplished districts".

Thus the more accurate statement to ask Black people that parallels the question in the graphic above is to ask:

"With so much of your 'Black Community Development Consciousness' invested as such - do YOU believe that by continuing this trek that you will achieve your desired ends?  If not WHY have you not initiated an 'Portfolio Protection' exercise against the Trusted Investment Advisers who compelled you to invest as you have done thus far?   What evidence can you show that you have any plans to seek a RETURN ON INVESTMENT, as your fear that the team that you have emotionally committed to in the 'Malcolm X Political Football Game' might lose if you don't do your part to cheerlead?"

Mr Smiley - there will never be the attainment of "Social Justice For Black People" until you help Black people to sever there EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT to "the extended team" and instead being to effectively govern our communities.

You have already witness first hand that the dog that you nursed from the time that it was a small pup is now willing to bite you on your rear if you go against it.
