You failed to consider how the panel was stacked against you and how they used their tag team to frame the conversation that was favorable to their agenda.
I understand that being provided with sound bites and the presence of an ideologically bigoted host make it difficult for you to get your talking points across. Still you failed to understand the fundamental challenge.
Your problem is that you have the weight of the entire Republican Party on your back as you make your case to a predominately Black Democrat and Obama loyal base of listeners. Many of them firmly believe that despite their previous attacks on "deficit spending" and their silence on the present RECORD deficit spending since GOVERNMENT must create jobs when the private sector that is in cahoots to make Obama a "one term president" - it is in line with their reasoning that your party's opposition to Obama's "Jobs Bill" is the reason for the present employment challenge.

The chart above from my post in January 2012 shows that the "Obama Jobs Bill" that was to save us all - if you allow your co-panelists to tell it - ONLY was going to create 2 million jobs - for some unknown period of time.
Once you understand that these "Embedded Confidence Men" are Obama surrogates with NO INTENTION OF PROTECTING THE INTERESTS OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY from their own exploits - your tactics will change.
You TRANSACTED with the co-panelists and the host, rather than first defining common goals and then standing firm on some SUPREME BELIEF:
- "What do Americans/Black Americans WANT economically?"
- "What have they INVESTED THEIR HOPES INTO in the past, as promoted by 'Investment Advisers' like Roland Martin and Joe Madison - both of who are receiving kick backs at our community's expense?"
- "What has the community established in the way of a firewall to prevent these 'Embedded Confidence Men' from giving out advice which compelled the 'Black Community Development Consciousness" into the Obama Campaign in 2008 and EVERY successive Democratic Party campaign since 1964?"
How To Combat The "Economy Was Losing 700,000 Jobs Per Month Under Bush And Then Obama Turned Things Around" Slight Of Hand
Mr Jackson in rebutting this tired indictment that they hit you with - you have to decide if your goal is to defend Bush/The Republicans OR to make the case for Sound Economic Governance that will stem the tide of our present economic evisceration.
If you notice it starts in December 2007 to buttress their claim that "Obama has created more jobs in 2 years than Bush had created in 8 years."
As an analyst the first thing that would be suspect to me is to question why they start at 2007 and not 2000?
The reason why they start at 2007 is because they are trying to sculpt an INDICTMENT, not to communicate the facts to their loyal base.
Those who argue about the 700k jobs per month make it appear that the economy would have kept losing jobs - on its way to zero but for the presence of President Obama. While there is no doubt that a different leader in power can have a calming affect as he is not tarnished with "the same ole same", the truth is that President Obama merely SPENT his way into a slight recovery using "Deficit Stimulating Stimulus Spending".
My goal is not to promote or attack Obama or Bush.
My goal is to "Push The Embedded Confidence Men Out Of The Black Community's Racial Consciousness Nucleus" SO WE CAN THINK STRAIGHT about our PERMANENT INTERESTS, once again.
The three pronged rebuttal to their argument must focus on:
- The Economic Choices Between Jobs And Debt
- How Their New Found "Economic Prowess" Is Not Evident Locally In The "Mission Accomplished Zones"
- The Proportionality Filter: Is The Job Creation That They Are Lauding SUFFICIENT For The Black Community Or Just For Obama??
Please understand that the average American is focused on his own net worth and credit scores. While the municipal and state balance sheets have indeed impacted them recently, the $16T massive federal deficit is merely "funny money" to them. When it comes to choosing to stem the tide of the federal debt by yielding their dreams of "Nationalized Social Justice" (and military protections) - the average America is too entrenched in their present way of living and their assumptions of the "Mighty America Will Never Collapse" to agree to yield anything. Democrat Howard Dean was ultimately correct about how you can never abruptly take away that which the people assume as the norm.
What people need to see is that while we as Americans are isolated from the meltdown that Europe is now suffering from, they ended up in that place by making wrong economic decisions along the way - just as the USA is doing.
While Mr Madison wants to trump up the austerity cuts to "The Republican legislators", he is loathed to talk about how Greece's socialist challengers that are in an upcoming run off election want to disband the austerity package, refuse to make the loan payments and raise taxes on the rich and corporations. Only if your plan is economic suicide would you ponder the challenge that is before you and make such a suggestion.
The best way to rebut the domestic arguments for Keynesian spending by progressives who read the NY Times and Paul Krugman is to have them stop looking at the shine of his Nobel Peace Prize and force him to talk about Europe - not from a new spin on how austerity cuts are responsible - but from the perspective of why he and other like-minded economists used Europe as the beacon of "social justice done right", particularly during the health care debate?
The challenge is - they are not going to stand by their previous positions. Their goal is to keep firing indictments at their enemy, knowing that their base has short memory.
The second point of rebuttal on their competence at job creation and economic development is to look at the "Mission Accomplished Cities" that they already dominate.
We can see that they have a history in which an elected machine that presides over massive job loss and economic erosion is NOT voted out of office. Instead, the best way for a Progressive to survive bad economic and employment numbers is to scamper to find the closest corporation or conservative to blame. When there are too few left within the domain that they now "Occupy" - they merely expand the scope of their indictment, looking into the state or federal level for a fitting candidate to target.

Are The "Net Obama Jobs Gains" SUFFICIENT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY?
On this blog I constantly note the difference between what is POPULAR among Black people with the prevailing consciousness regarding what will build up our communities versus what is EFFECTIVE at doing so. The Black Press is often the worst violator at pushing their agenda through propaganda - while failing to defend the community from ITSELF and the "Embedded Confidence Men" that take it along for a political ride.
From the 1997 Chicago Urban League Report we see the reasons for the high unemployment rate for Black people in certain cities.
Why is it, despite the fact that they have an indomitable control over Mission Accomplished Cities like Chicago - do these "Democrat Who Are Black" operatives get to pretend that they are working in the best interests of the Black community when in truth their PARTY gets stronger as our communities get weaker on their watch.
If you allow them to propagandize about "Obama's 27 Month Positive Jobs Creation" rhetoric yet not tie it to THE NEEDS OF THE BLACK COMMUNITY - we will continue to play the 'Malcolm X Political Football Game' but never think clearly enough to defend our permanent interests against those who wish to put it at play.
These Numbers Are From 1997 During the "Clinton Boom" That They Market As Their Success. If even then the combination of the Black Unemployment/ Discouraged Worker rates were so high during the time that the Black Racial Services Machine was appeased - imagine what these rates are today as they are also heard playing defense for their favorable President - at the Black community's expense. .
You Allowed Joe Madison To Take HIS OWN Indictment Against REPUBLICANS That OBAMA ALSO VIOLATED And Use It As An Indictment Against YOU - Yet You Did Not Sufficiently Rebut His Slight Of Hand

Every child learns as a consequence of what happens when the teacher closes the door and seeks to impart what is in her mind into the consciousness of the collection of students that are in front of her. We see that the "Permanent Struggle" is merely a rouse to aggregate power for the benefit of the machine that is failing the people.
(Update - On the ride home today from a Caribbean Cultural event - my wife told us how there were two classes to each room, the chalk board served as a divider for the room. At no time did DISCIPLINE problems interrupt one teacher's ability to educate the students as the other teacher's class got out of hand. There is no claim of "social justice" against the central government to rile up the people. Anything that is not accomplished via the local institutions gets defined as "squandered human resources" that were never developed.
"The Least Of These" in America have been tricked into a permanent struggle for EQUAL RESOURCES - as a means of yielding their grievances to the "Embedded Confidence Men" who are ultimately incompetent at delivering the final product that "The Least Of These" so desire.
Anything that requires a fundamental change in the CONSCIOUSNESS of "The Least Of These" will fail, primarily because those people who refer to them as "The Least Of These" can't see THEM as being fully competent to serve as the pillars of their own uplift.

This struggle for big government is, in truth, a subtle admission from the "Social Justice Confiscators" of their INCOMPETENCE at gaining local power over political establishment and providing the desired civic services through what they have been successful at winning.
Though Mr Madison was a co-conspirator in the machine that failed Black people in Detroit - you allowed him to talk as if HE has credibility against HIS enemy when it comes to destruction of jobs.
You failed to make the case that PRIVATE SECTOR ORGANIC PRODUCTION is what feeds the GOVERNMENT via a tax base through which it can hire people. The choice of a city government that has squandered its tax base to attempt to retain the work force that it had when it was nearly twice as populated - is a train wreck in the making.
You did not sufficiently tie in government service work with the capability of a given city or state to AFFORD these ends.
They tried to use the "Mississippi would suffer greatly from the return to Federalism/ 'States Rights' scheme. YOU should have told them that it is the big progressive states like California and Illinois that have the worst bond ratings because they have too much "Social Justice Spending" left at the end of the month.
The decimation of the municipal labor force - DID NOT come from (just) "Republican State Legislatures" as the Progressive-Fundamentalist operative from "The Politico" alleged. The stream of union worker layoffs in Atlanta, Detroit, Newark, Camden and other places came from the relative FISCAL INSOLVENCY of the entity at hand!!!!!! There is no "Republican Legislative Powerbase" in ANY of these "Mission Accomplished Cities" to do as the Politico guy claimed.
They are not bound by THE TRUTH - but instead use carefully sculpted talking points to play upon the bigotry that is within their listening base.
When you tune in to such as show, carefully listening for talking point to use against YOUR COMMON ENEMY - most won't bother to fact check the propagandists that are feeding information to them on this "NBC Universal Media LLC" propaganda source that is seeking to sculpt the thoughts of its base of Black Progressive viewers.
There is no FIREWALL PROTECTION between the "Black Conscious Understanding" and the "Paid Blacks" who are recruited to frame the issues in a manner that is appealing to the present prevailing consciousness within the Black community.
Finally - you allowed Joe Martin to do a "cross over" on you.
Having accepted the fraudulent premise above - you allowed Martin and crew to make in the case that OBAMA HAS LAID OFF MORE FEDERAL WORKERS THAN BUSH - and then to suggest that "YOU should be voting for Obama" because he "shrunk government.
You should have turned this around - asking Joe Martin - the first ever "Black Defensive Coordinator In The Malcolm X Political Football Game" - why ISN'T THIS NEWS about OBAMA'S LAYOFFS enough for HIM to PROTEST AGAINST OBAMA - and the MACHINE IN DETROIT that also laid off thousands of unionized government if the protection of their jobs is at his CORE?
If the Republican's goal is to destroy the government workers unions - they should take a page from fiscally incompetent local Democrats that have decimated their numbers via municipal insolvency. Yet they retain their POWER - because these type of propaganda shows do one thing that is excellent:
KEEP THEIR ENEMIES ON TRIAL SO THEY DO NOT HAVE TO INDICT THEIR FRIENDS FOR FAILING "THE LEAST OF THESE" AFTER RECEIVING THEIR POT OF GOLD BASED ON PROMISES OF CHANGE.
