It Is Clear - The 'Anti-Stand Your Ground" Movement Is Only Targeted Toward "White On Black Shootings" - Charges Dropped Against Chicago Man For Shooting Of An Intruder

Huffington Post: Homer Wright, Elderly Chicago Man, Cleared Of Gun Charges In Shooting Of Home Intruder (VIDEO)

Wright was released on $10,000 bond on Tuesday after Englewood residents expressed outrage that the man was arrested for defending himself in a crime-ridden neighborhood. Robinson, who was charged with felony burglary, was ordered held on $150,000 bond. According to the Sun-Times, he has been arrested at least 13 times since 2009.
"Where in America can you not defend yourself?" Darryl Smith of the Englewood Political Task Force told ABC Chicago. "And because you have a felony is your life less valuable than any other person? Had he not had a gun, we would be here for another reason, because he was beaten to death."

ANALYSIS:

(Note: Wright had his Second Amendment right to bear a firearm suppressed due to a past felony 20 years ago.  Gun possession was the charge against him, not the shooting.  In my view the fact remains - a rational human being, seeking to exercise self-preservation is going to use the necessary tools at hand to defend his own life and property.     Just don't expect to have GUN CONTROL laws placed on trial as a result of this real world issue.   Only the ABSENCE of Gun Control gets brought to bear as indictments.  )

One vital test of intellectual integrity is that their stance can endure across multiple contexts.

In the case of the Chicago-area shooting detailed in the story above in which a homeowner was originally arrested and charged for shooting an intruder who had broken into his house - the 'community outrage" of the man's arrest can't be reconciled with the present series of attacks against "The Stand Your Ground Laws".   This latest attack flowing from the aftermath of the "Trayvon Martin Killing By George Zimmerman".

Of the "Justice For Trayvon" rallies that have taken place in Chicago, has there been any voice that has pushed back against the present attacks on "Stand Your Ground" by holding up Homer Wright?

Sad but true, the injection of RACE (or an ideological/ political enemy) into the mix can trigger a ration thinking Black person to drastically different position than he had vocalized when the issue was presented without these confinements.

In my opinion many who are following the lead of the operatives with the broader agenda for Gun Control and against the National Rifle Association can't imagine the day that a Black person shoots a White person with LEGITIMATE claims of "Self Defense" and yet, thanks to their political handi-work this self-defense law has been stripped away.   Instead many of our people are easily pacified with the notion:  "THEY would never allow a Black person to walk free after shooting a White person anyway.   This law was not written with Blacks in mind".
