Congolese Immigrant, Homeowner Detained At Gunpoint, Arrested As He Moves Into Newly Purchased Home In Newton County GA

VIDEO: Couple held at gunpoint, arrested after buying home

I might now be cynical beyond reason but I have a hunch that this story will generate more of a backlash  than did all of the murders and assaults in metro Atlanta in the past two weeks combined.

ANALYSIS:

The neighbors acted far too hostile for the situation at hand.
IF the family did not project any hostile actions - the gun wielding neighbors should have still called the police for verification of the new neighbors ownership of the property but deescalated the confrontation as they saw that the family was not attempting to evade them.

The Newton County Sheriff, in my view, acted reasonably in detaining people who could not confirm their ownership of the property.

My concern is the relationship going forward between the two neighbors.
The gun wielding numbers owe the family an apology.
I would not eat any cake that they might bring in order to bury the hatchet though.
