Atlanta Police Probe Video Of Alleged Atlanta Gang Beating

Atlanta police said Monday they are looking into video footage posted online of an apparent gang-related beating in southwest Atlanta.

The video, posted on YouTube and the website for WorldHipHop.com and reported by online news site The Smoking Gun, shows three men attacking a man coming from a grocery store on McDaniel Street.
YouTube removed the video on Monday, citing it violates the website's policy against violence.
In the video, the victim appears to be talking on his cell phone as he emerges from the store, and rounds a corner into an apparent ambush.
Three assailants  swarm the man, punching and kicking him repeatedly. When the man falls to the ground, someone grabbed a car tire that was leaning against a wall nearby and struck him with it.
Atlanta police say they were made aware of the video by news media, but weren't able to determine Monday when the footage was shot and whether anyone had filed a report.

Christoper Botts - Hate Crime Committing Street Pirate

 After Christopher Botts was arrested two weeks ago for viciously attacking two black men in Little Five Points, police wrote in an incident report that, like his two accomplices, he was from California.
He's not.
Botts' anger is born and bred in Georgia and fueled by his father, according to a friend and a relative. Cobb County court records illustrate Botts' crime-ridden rite of passage from teenage runaway to enraged felon.
"I'll tell you this much, he grew up in a horrible, horrible, horrible family life," says a cousin who recalls Botts' frequent stays at her house. She asked not to be named. "He should have been removed from his parents from the time he was small. It should never have gotten out of hand like that."
Botts' mother, Patricia Buttram, says her son grew up "emotionally disturbed" and that she raised him as best she could.
"He's done some bad things," she says. "But he's just a good person. He's got the biggest heart."
She also says that despite the district attorney's announcement that Botts will be prosecuted under the state's hate crime statute, Botts is not a racist.
