Observation - Racism Chasing And "Living Vicariously Through Obama" Are Tactics For Congregational Unity

As I listened to the news media over the weekend and the first few days of the week I observed how a group of "White people alone" (conservatives and progressives) debate key issues that are in the popular political discourse and then contrasted how the addition of a Black Progressive into the mix (as a voice added to a debate among Whites or within the Black-Wing talk radio or Black Progressive Blogs).

You probably do not have the Flash Player (Get Adobe Flash Player Here) installed for your browser or the video files are misplaced on your server!

In the debate above over "The Food Stamp President" we see one White Progressive debating two White Conservatives over the larger issue of "Income Inequality", "Entitlement Programs", etc.    The purpose of my commentary is not to tell you my opinion of "who is right".   It is to observe how differ the debate among White on the subject of "The Food Stamp President" varies from how the popular political discourse among Blacks are handling it.

In summary - Robert Reich, Steve Moore and Larry Kudlow did not address this comment as a RACIST slight against Black people.

Reich, representing the left discussed:

  • Eroded National Economic Fortunes Required An Expanded Social Safety Net
  • Economy Tanked Due To Failure To Regulate Wall Street And Corporations
  • Corporate Welfare Expanded
  • More People In Poverty Today Requires More Support
  • The Jobs Are Not Available
Moore and Kudlow, from the right argued:
  • Increased Government Spending Crowding Out Private Capital Spending
  • Lowered Eligibility Requirements Lead To More People Qualifying
  • The Stimulus That Promised Economic Expansion Did Not Do So Sufficiently
  • The Economic Recovery Has Been Weak
  • Progressive's Vision Of "The Entitlement Nation" Is The Problem

If you notice this debate on "The Kudlow Report" a political analysis/ economic analysis oriented show they did NOT discuss any notions that there is a "hidden racial attack" behind the use of the word "Food Stamp".   After all - just as "Crack Is A Black Drug", "Food Stamps Are Also Black" in the mind of some people.

The image below came out a long time ago without claim of "racial indictment", yet a similar reference to Obama as such is called RACIST.

Racism Chasing And Vicarious Living Though Obama As Political Discourse Suppression Among Black Progressives

As I listened to a "Black Wing Talk Radio Host" tell about what he would do if Republican Jan Brewer put her finger in his face - as he, again 'Lived Vicariously Through Obama" I contrasted this issue that has him so "upset" with the present themes from yesterday that the "rest of the media" is talking about.  (Right and left).   While the progressives on "Democracy Now" have moved on to talk about the drone strikes in Pakistan and the trial of the last American solider charged in the 'Haditha Massacre" in Iraq - it is my opinion that those who are STILL "upset" about Obama having a finger pointed at him are merely seeking to filibuster the issue as they tell of their personal injury as suffered by Obama and can't bring themselves to place this "offense" in the larger context of what they SHOULD BE offended over as it relates to the Black community.

The proper question about the "food stamp comment" is:
  • "Given the INVESTMENTS that the Black community has made for our Organic Competency Development ARE YOU SATISFIED that the infrastructure that has been built WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY is sufficient to allow our people to remain productive as they apply their skills to the employment opportunities that are present, having endured the larger economic turmoil?"
The above statement does more to align Black people's "Political Struggle" with our actual community needs.  It could also serve as the impetus to walk off of the field of play of the "Malcolm X Political Football Game".   This as they understand that the ECONOMIC INJURY of having the Black Community POKED IN THE EYE after an aborted 50 year political struggle is far, far worse than any "insult" that a Black man who has power in the "American Political Domain" can suffer as we project what "WE" would do if someone pointed as such as us.  Sadly, for some people - the finger point fomented their resolve to VOTE in November more than the economic, academic and public safety information about our community that has not moved despite these investments.

Some people use their "offendedness" as currency.    As I have noted that the progressive uses EXTERNAL INDICTMENTS as his grounds for "congregational unity" and "struggle".   It matters not what you call yourself as a label.   The antics speak louder.

In this consciousness the perceived slights against Black people are always used to provide a distorted response to our need to look at the popular assumptions that were supposed to lead to our community development.  The presence of RACISM by hateful external forces are made the reason why these "popular theories" have failed.

I challenge everyone to go purchase a "Roku Box", load the "MHz Channel" and watch the international news as a means of understanding just how much both "American Media" and "Black Media" purposely keep us "majoring in the minors" for domestic political advantage - while failing to discuss the storm clouds that are forming in international affairs that are going to impact us in the long run.

Europe at the brink of financial collapse should be the primary issue in this debate of the size of the "social safety net".  Those who understand that they will lose this argument often turn to "Racism Chasing" and the resulting "congregational unity" as they understand that Black people, placed in a "Racially Defensive Posture" will predictably act in a certain way.

MY disposition leaves me vulnerable to the charge: "YOU see RACISM and don't fight it sufficiently enough and thus you leave Black people vulnerable to being used as a political bean bag".

TO WHICH MY REBUTTAL IS - As we look at the "Mission Accomplished Zones" where your theories and tactics are the 'last man standing' it is OBVIOUS that while you indeed gained yardage in the 'Malcolm X Political Football Game", politically punishing your adversary when he used "Unsportsman-Like Conduct" - YOUR TEAM is now disproportionately on "Injured Reserve" as you show them the trophy that you have won for the Team.  What is your REAL agenda?
