Michelle Bernard - School Choice Is NOT A Civil Rights Issue

Daily Caller - Black History Month ad campaign argues school choice is the civil rights issue of our time

Ms Bernard (with yo' fine self) you have been hanging around too many of your liberal friends - as seen in the picture - and have adopted their talking points.

While indeed the subject of "school choice" can be presented as a "conservative stance" the fact that you have couched it in the vernacular and bling of the "civil rights struggle" is disturbing.

I do agree that the common roots between "back in the day" and the present is BIGOTRY.  This is where the distinction ends.

"Back in the day" the White power structure had two goals:

  1. Retaining their position in power by training up their replacement forces with the best instructional personnel, facilities and materials
  2. Keeping "The Blacks" in their place by limiting their access to quality educational resources using the administrative power that they wielded in the system
As we move forward to today the "bigotry" that we have is seen in the "Mission Accomplished School Systems".  The "Favorable People In Power" have placed other agendas that prove to crowd out the main mission of "finishing" our children - preparing them to be the "professional service providers" that our community needs to rise to the standard of living that is commonly desired.

Their bigotry is shown in that they leverage their power and "congregational consensus" to compel those who are known to turn around when someone yells out  "Hey you least of these people!!!" to follow along in the struggle as they use the public school institution for their broader agenda:
  • Jobs Program
  • "Social & Economic Justice" Indoctrination Curriculum
  • and in the City of Philadelphia - the contract to reform the academically failing "MLK Jr High" was itself the crime scene of a contract corruption case.
Ms Bernard - in as much as "No one ever gets fired for failing the Black community IF they do so with best of progressive intentions" - this entrenched conscious viewpoint is the very same ideology that the White bigots who preceded them used as they too sought to retain their power.  In as much as "Black people are 100% equal human beings" who says that BIGOTRY is not available for us to use?

Does it matter the INTENTION when the very same RESULTS were achieved at the end.

Failure In An Unacceptable Number Of  Majority Black Public Schools Is Not A "Civil Rights Violation" It Is Evidence Of Incompetence At Human Resource Management.  Period!!!!

Ms Bernard - you have been around long enough to know that the best way to compel Black people to do something is to hoist up a "Struggle" and then to align the congregation to play their part as foot soldiers.

As a product of the Philadelphia Public Schools I recall distinctly during the late 70's/ early 80's the call to arms was:   "Once We Get People In Power Who Love Our Black Children And Care About The Black Community.......................Things Will Be Different In Our Schools".

By every single measure in Philly the "Mission Accomplishment" moment has passed.    Today they have moved onward to "new struggles".

I also talked previously about the real world issue with Samuel Gompers Elementary School.   At a family reunion several years ago my aunt who resides a short walking distance from the school told us that her son doesn't go to Gompers.  He instead goes to a charter school around the corner.   Yes this is "school choice" but this analysis misses the mark.

IF we were HONEST - we would turn back the clock and note that this Wynnefield community in West Philly was a White an exclusive community back in the 1960's.   Gompers was a high performing elementary school but Blacks were not allowed because we did not meet the residency requirements.

During the 1970's and 80's the neighborhood diversified.  I recall going over my relative's house there and enjoying picnics cookouts in their larger than average backyards or hanging in their finished basements with the other kids as the adults were upstairs playing cards and listening to music and consuming adult beverages with adult conversations.   I am fully aware of this community.

The news that Gompers was no longer that highly sought after facility proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that it was not the bricks, mortar or no-wax flooring tile that "The Blacks" sought after in admissions.    When the "catalyst for Black academic performance" left the school as they moved away - it seems that Gompers lost its luster - just like the flooring tiles that could use a buffing.

Ms Bernard - the real problem that we suffer from is "Non-White White Supremacy".   Those who use the hijacked Christian reference to "The Least Of These" as they try to set out a dinner plate for Black people to eat off of and thank them for it - have no plans to DEVELOP our people into the state of EQUAL, using the HUMAN RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT INSTITUTIONS as the primary "finishing agents" for our people.

The drive for "school choice", while worthy in the attempts to avoid the choking kudzu of a bureaucratic school system overlay that has run amok, tries to side step the real issue.

The Black rank & file faces an internal showdown against the "Black Racial Services Machine" that have for so long used our community grievances to aggregate POWER in support of their own, self-serving ideological agenda.

How is it that just 3 years after compelling the Black community to INVEST our "Black Community Development Consciousness" in the electoral success of President Obama - do we hear NO ONE in the "Obama Fist Bump Black Press" verbally noting a distinction between the "Black Community's Interests" and the METHODOLOGY through which the "Black Racial Services Machine" has compelled us to pursue it?

With about 18 million "Equal Black Ballots" having been cast in the name of "Educational Equality",this following more than 50 years of previous investments - WHO among the Black Press has inspected the "Black Community's 401K Portfolio Balance" and demanded that our investment advisers explain the lack of organic growth?

I thought that compound interests causes an appreciable asset to grow?

If our White racist enemies of the past understood the threat of an "educated Black man" to their POWER BASE - if the very same results are achieved as those in power today SPEAK of their "good intentions" with our investments yet they fail to produce the promised increase - does the fact that they are not labeled as "racists" make any difference when we take a dispassionate assessment of our "human resource development" position?

Absent a new MANAGEMENT ORDER WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY where RESULTS are demanded with the use of a TIME LINE - we will continue to evade the issue at hand and more of our people will be left "unfinished", their human potential squandered.

Instead of allowing the "Embedded Confidence Men" to force THE NATION to affirm our equal human worth - WE need to remind them of the INVESTMENTS that we have made that their control over our community institutions were supposed to DEVELOP US INTO "EQUALLY COMPETENT HUMAN BEINGS" with marketable skills to sell into the market.

This is a "Human Resource Development Violation" that we are witnessing.
