The Civil Rights Violations That Are Not Labeled As Such - Black People Being Shot While Socializing

Thus far I have been worried about how the wild swings in temperature in the South this year is going to kill off the buds on my fruit trees. Last Friday I was literally "hot" outside.

 Today as I type this the thermometer reads 31 degrees outside. If you have read this blog you understand that springtime also brings "Spring dresses" on the sistas and "The Bloody Summer" among the Street Pirates.

 There is no question that the prevalence of violence and murder increases during the warm-weather months in metro-Atlanta. Our early thaw, regardless of your view on Global Warming as the cause, has brought forth a string of "Black People Shot While Socializing" assaults and murders that some people who are not prone to do pattern matching fail to see.

Another club named "Club Ritz" in Cincinnati OH had a homicide inside.  As the Cinncy City Council threatened to shut them down - the club owner wondered allowed if WHITE owned businesses are subjected to the same scrutiny (.....when they have Negroes shooting themselves inside).

Clubgoers hope that name change brings less violence, fail to ask Street Pirates to CHANGE their ways.

Just as it was the case that:

• Renaming "Ashby Street" into "Rev Joseph E Lowery Blvd" in Atlanta
• Renaming "Simpson Road" into "Rev Joseph E Boone Blvd" in Atlanta....

....did NOT stop the violent Street Pirate Attacks despite what Rev Joseph E Lowery told us would be the case, the same is the case with regards to the name "Club Ritz".    Changing the name of these clubs nationally, nor shutting down the store in the "Pittsburgh Community of Atlanta" where a "hate crime" was committed is NOT going to change the violent behavior of Street Pirates.

Nothing is going to change UNTIL those who claim to be interested in advancing the cause of the Black community begin to work THROUGH THE COMMUNITY INSTITUTION to CHANGE THE PEOPLE, having them to buy into doing their part in support of the desired standard of living.

The shooting happened outside Pin Ups on East Ponce de Leon Avenue near Decatur.
Channel 2 Action News reported that 10 to 15 men were involved in the fight, which was broken up by the club's bouncers.
Once bouncers got those involved in the fight out of the club, one of the men got a gun from the trunk of his car and fired into the crowd.
A 31-year-old man was shot in the lower back, but was alert and in stable condition when taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, Channel 2 reported.
The shooting wasn't the first at the club, which is in an industrial area just outside the city limits of both Decatur and Avondale Estates.
In September 2010, the club's co-owner, Terry Stephenson, was shot multiple times just outside the club's entrance.
Stephenson, who was reportedly on his way to the bank to deposit the club's Labor Day weekend profits, was shot four times and died on the way to a local hospital.
