The values of some people can be determine as we move beyond the "Moral Authority" that they cleave to as they stand firm in the context of one transaction and instead appraise them in a more holistic manner - according to our present needs.
We understand that they are a "well oiled machine" when it comes to executing their forte. Those who are appeased by their resolve to "defend our people" yet fail to note that beyond their frequent "moral outrage" our community remains far short of their promises will continue to "Struggle" with them.
While those who follow are convinced that what is dangled in front of their eyes is the primary force that oppresses their group uplift - a series of scientific observations will point to the "dark matter" - that which goes "sight unseen" in their docket of indictments as the greater problem.
What is the obvious counterbalance by which we should judge this "Gwinnett County Schools - Math Slavery" conflict against in order to prove my point about the "Black Racial Services Machine"?? Easy. The recent "Atlanta Public Schools Cheating Scandal".
What was the response of the "Black Racial Services Machine" when "our Black school children" were attacked by a conspiracy to commit academic fraud?"
To be clear - when I say "The System" - I am talking about this amorphous system of WHITE FOLKS that always lurks, seeking to slash at Black people in some way. In the consciousness of the "Civil Rights Pharisees" these forces reside at the state level in the Republican dominated state government. Since they are oriented in a "Struggle Disposition" as the primary means to get Black people active into politics - for the purposes of riling us up to get us voting for the Democrats and "Progressive Public Policy" - there are two modes that they desire for Black people:
- Making External Indictments against these enemies
- Provoking Black people into a "Racially Defensive Posture" where the constant "state of emergency" from the "attack" makes it so that "Now is not the time to ask questions, challenging the 'Black Leadership' about the RESULTS".
This enemy resided in the county governments outside of the majority of core counties in metro Atlanta (Fulton, Dekalb, Clayton). While Gwinnett County is a highly diverse county White still dominate the rungs of county government and the school system.
As of 2010, Gwinnett County had a population of 805,321. The racial and ethnic composition of the population was 53.3% white (44.0% non-Hispanic white), 23.6% black (22.9% non-Hispanic black), 2.7% Korean, 2.6% Asian Indian, 2.0% Vietnamese, 3.3% other Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 8.8% some other race (0.3% non-Hispanic of some other race) and 3.1% from two or more races. 20.1% of the population was Hispanic or Latino with 10.7% of the total population, being Mexican
The median income for a household in the county was $60,537, and the median income for a family was $66,693.
(Note: I would be remiss if I failed to note that with the total Asian population of Gwinnett County at 10.6% their presence is felt in the sizable swaths of custom retail and restaurant presence that they have in certain notable districts in the county. The actions of this "minority group" is a part of my "longitudinal study" about "What makes the Prevailing Black Political Consciousness tick?". )
The Atlanta Public School Cheating Scandal - A National Embarrassment

In the Atlanta Public Schools Cheating Scandal the narrative delivered on local "Black-wing talk radio" by a good portion of the hosts and callers was that the White powers in the State of Georgia and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) [the accreditation agency] were racists who at minimum wanted to embarrass the "Black Leadership" that dominates the Atlanta Schools. At worst they wanted to run "The Blacks" "out of town on a rail".
The racism motivating them to replace these "Black faces" with favorable White faces with the goal of taking over the government contracts that the schools let and eventually to create "for profit education" (ex: vouchers). The important first step to this scheme is to paint this "Black run" school system as a failure.
As a result the disposition of the "Conscious Black Person" then was to:
- Keep focused on what "THEY" are trying to do to "OUR" young people, school system and Black elected officials
- Get them to prove every single allegation in the cheating report that was collected by the GBI, tossing out the hearsay and demanding more hard evidence (I AGREE WITH THIS ONE!!!)
- Oppose firings of teachers as the vast majority of them were BLACK - as many of their faces appeared on the television news
- PUT SACS and the Governor ON TRIAL - Make them prove that this is not a power play with a RACIST Agenda
- ( SACS offers a paid professional management development consulting service that assists troubled school systems and district executives in correcting their management issues)

The voice of Rev Joseph Lowery - "The Original Occupier" joined the fray. Fresh from opposing the creation of the "Super White Cities" in North Fulton County, Rev Lowery drew a line in the sand for the "Civil Rights Pharisees" and the "Fight The Power Activists For The Protection Racket Of Black People" to hold the fort - NO TEACHER SHOULD BE FIRED IN THIS ATLANTA CHEATING SCANDAL.
The Demographics And Performance Differences Between Atlanta Public Schools And Gwinnett County Public Schools
The point that many people are loathed to talk about is the fact that the Black student graduation rate is higher in many of the "Contested School Systems" than in the "Mission Accomplished School Systems".
Per their arrogance - instead of doing careful observation of the "Best Practices" that allow these "Contested Systems" to obtain a high graduation rate, committing to implement these reforms into the "Mission Accomplished School Systems" the "Civil Rights Pharisees prefer a more confrontational approach. As we see in North Carolina - the NAACP's strategy for "quality education for Black people" is to make sure that Black students are moved into "White schools" so that all schools (wink wink) share the 'burden of
If they resist they are charged as "racist".
Our community has not yet developed the words to capture the "Black Inferiority" that such a strategy entails.
I can name 5 family friends who are Black that have migrated from Dekalb County Public Schools up to Gwinnett County over the past 10 years. The main reason being the quality of the schools as compared with Dekalb (in their opinion).
No these are not "Black Conservatives friends" who are "closeted Republicans" like many of you assume that I am. These would be the classic "Black Flight Progressives" that I speak of frequently. After struggling to customize their former environments with the leadership that they preferred in their consciousness at the time they ironically crafted an environment that compelled them to move in order to pursue their family's "permanent interests". As much as "the Blacks" who think out of sync are attacked (ie: Herman Cain, Clarence Thomas, Condi Rice) THESE, the "Black Flight Progressives" are the figures that more light of scrutiny needs to be shown upon. They are repudiating the policy effects that are popular in the Black Political Discourse, distancing their family from the impact. Then they practice "Get In Where We Fit In" as they remain in good standing by voting for and supporting public policy for their former neighborhood that proved to be a threat to their own interests.
With respect to Gwinnett County - aside from the natural migration that comes from the desire for a shortened community to one's job - the majority of Black migration to Gwinnett County - from both out of state transfers (into state) and intra-state relocation is motivated by the comparative quality of the schools as contrasted to the school systems that they have vacated from.

"So What Are You Saying?......'Black People Should Just Shut Up And Take This RACISM(!!!)??"
NO I Am Not
The section title is the common refrain that is heard.
The problem with the "Civil Rights Pharisees" and the "Fight The Power Activists For The Protection Racket Of Black People" is that their "effectiveness" in fighting racism is equal to their incompetency in managing EFFECTIVE ENDS for our people within the institutions that they have "favorable people" in power.
They understand that with the history of the treatment of Black people in America we are prone to prioritize a defense against an attack over a purge of "executive leadership" in pursuit of a new direction. Long story short - it is to the advantage of the "Racism Chaser" to put these external attacks on their front page every chance they get. My issue is that such antics often fail the "Proportionality Filter".
If your goal is "Congregational Unity" over "Effective Results" then the promotion of the "Defensive Posture" is an effective tactic toward this end.
With few "Black Intellectuals" daring to take an aggregate view of all of the "transactional antics" that are conducted WITHIN the Black community and willing to speak out against them with the hope of more TRANSPARENCY - these "Permanent Strugglers" go on uncontested. The "Black Intellectuals" are fellow Progressive-Fundamentalists. They don't mind that the "Black Rank & File" is being MISLEAD toward a certain end - only that this END is reached.
This is not a unique indictment of the "Black Intellectuals". This is merely "Group Behavior 101". It does speak to their lack of confidence in the "Black Rank & File". Any group that is frequently called "The Least Of These" in the way of "protection" are not logically slated to become the "UN-least of these", least the flock escape from the shepherd .
The NAACP Strategically Picks Its Battles And Protection Rackets
The Georgia NAACP has a "running beef" with Gwinnett County Schools (the superintended made a "racially insensitive comment a few years ago about "Black students in Idaho") and Fayette County (a lawsuit against their school board selection process). Their radar is on high beam for any "racial slights" in districts with Black student populations that are the minority.
Despite all of the problems in the majority Black - Clayton County Schools, Dekalb County Schools and Atlanta Public Schools where BLACK KIDS were injured by the actions of the adults running the system the venerable NAACP never filed a lawsuit on their behalf and never called the US Justice Department Civil Rights Division to come down and inspect the problems in these school districts as the interests of the Black students was being imperiled.
To be perfectly clear - I do not expect the NAACP to be the "guardians of Black people" in this way. They have proven themselves to be a "left wing operative group". If an incident does not fit a carefully crafted profile - they punt as does not fit their baileywick. I support their right to cherry pick whatever incident or issue they want to. Their choices merely compel me to understand that in the full enclosure of "The Black Community" there needs to be OTHER groups that have agendas that vary from the NAACP to "inflate the entire balloon". I am not "mad at" the NAACP. They are just not going to receive my funding after sending the numerous donation letters (and "NAACP Voter Opinion Surveys" to my house. I have a stack of pseudo-membership cards in my collection that were glued to their mailings).
It is clear that the overriding "Racial Proxy Fight" dominates the actions of the "Civil Rights Pharisees", including the NAACP.
Their primary hope for "quality education" is to do what then candidate Obama warned us all about during his "Race Speech" - the perils of leaving Black students - all alone in urban schools. This consciousness requires them to go public about the "slights" that Black people receive on occasion when paired with White people. It is unwilling to talk about the larger body of matter - "The Dark Matter" that is not seen because they don't talk about it.
"This Dark Matter" is the truth about WHY the performance problems percolate up when "favorable people" are put into power, later declining into "unfavorable places" once it reaches a certain "racial tipping point".
In my observation this same "moral authority" that is on watch for all "racial slights" begin to take over the policy bias in the schools, triggering an exodus as it routinely prove that "moral outrage" IS NOT A GOVERNANCE STRATEGY.
I reported on my experiences about 4 years ago when I was asked to speak at an elementary school in Dekalb County during a rally just prior to them taking a standardized test. The same question of "Why didn't any teacher pull the plug on this?" that was asked about this "Slavery Math Assignment" - I ASKED about the conduct of a dance contest to the theme of the popular "Snoop Dogg" song at the time "Sexual Attraction" (or whatever it was called). I recall the little Black girl - approximately in the 4th grade who was picked out of the crowd during the "contest for prizes". When the group of kids learned that they would have to "dance" in order to win the prize - this little girl was reluctant and embarrassed. She looked around and saw the other girls dancing to the song as she "got in where she fit in).
I know for a fact that no school in Gwinnett County or Fayette County - which are under the watch by the NAACP would have allowed such content into their schools.
There is a correlation between the schools that would allow Clifford "TI" Harris in to their schools as a "motivational speaker" and the prevailing (social) operating standards at these schools. The schools that refuse him would also more likely be called "racist" as the story goes. For ME this would identify a "good school" seeking to retain their standards.
The basic point of it all is that while the most comprehensive damage to Black students is being done in the districts that are run by "favorable people" those who manipulate the "Community Development Consciousness" of the Black people understand the power of the "racial indictment". This provokes the Black community to "Take Our Eyes Off Of The Prize" - settling for outward indictments and/or "service projects" that don't scale to the size of the problem.
Since they can't "protest their way" to quality education in the places that they dominate - they choose to make a public showing when they do receive an INDICTMENT against their enemies.
For the Black parents who are watching all of this - it is their job to keep a perspective on what really matters the most and not allow certain forces to hijack their consciousness. In my view that which is going on in the "Mission Accomplished" school systems is like certain students is are being called "Ninjas" every day.
FOCUS ON EFFECTIVE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES and not TRANSACTIONAL INDICTMENTS MEANT TO STRING YOU ALONG.
