“What’s important to us is putting together a luncheon that
celebrates the life and work of Dr.King,” luncheon organizer Alma Brown
said last week, according to a local report.
“And it became evident over the last few days that people were upset
about comments that Tavis Smiley had made, comments that we weren’t
aware of unfortunately so we made the decision to cancel his contract.”
Smiley said Monday that some 1,500 guests had bought tickets to
attend the luncheon, but the “six people” that complained ended up
“trumping the entire event,” calling the situation a “quintessential
example of political correctness.”
With all due respect, Mr Smiley - YOU "Ran With" these people for decades, conducting the very same character assassination against others that are now being directed at you and your friend Dr West. Dr West appears to have repaired his image because he is now "Occupying" and has stopped "Speaking Truth To Power - In The White House". You know Black Progressive-Fundamentalists don't like you talking about the White House FOR NOW.
If your eyes are now opened about "who these people are" you would take the time to build up INFRASTRUCTURE by which these forces are enveloped and made to align their antics toward greater things. They prove that they are not advancing "Dr King" but instead their own power and lock of control upon the Black community.
Me personally? I have yielded Martin Luther King Jr as "theirs". They venerate them NOT out of their commitment toward following in his footsteps. Instead they desire that all of us submit to him as a perfect reference, with the knowledge that after they disarm their adversary they can speak through the statue of Dr King, having their way with all others.
Instead of proving their competency at addressing the problems WITHIN the Black Community via the INSTITUTIONS that they now control per their "power grabbing scheme" they are expert at "Congregational Unity Enforcement". This time you stand on the outside - out of the cool breeze of their air conditioner as the door to the church has been slammed in your face.
Fear not though. With the rampage of "copper thefts" from the HVAC systems of their church that they are enshrined in - the heat that builds up inside as they keep close quarters is going to cause them to spill outside and into the community. The thief of the copper is none other than a "would be" pillar of the community. Since they failed to develop him into his proper role and responsibility he has morphed into a "Street Pirate" - the main agent of discomfort against their scheme. The "Street Pirate" is providing them with "corrective feedback" - the proverbial "call for help". Since they are not listening to "Jesus" who is telling them to change their course, direction and arrogance - the heat from "Global Warming" inside of their sanctuary where "veneration" of their order takes place must raise a few degrees beyond their present comfort level.
They weren't talking about Dr King during the American lead International Coup in Libya last year. While Dr King was forced to place his views against American imperialism above any potential benefit that President Johnson at the time would grant on the domestic front, those who "Speak For King" today were lulled into silence because they valued Obamacare more than they cared about US Military Drones.
As the Black community today comes to grips with a world in which "favorable people" are in power and need to be constrained and managed - those who are willing to tuck our community's "Permanent Interests" into a hidden place so they can keep marching in support of a politician and their party prove to us that Dr King was a man of his day but we have a NEW DAY with different dynamics.
Back in Dr King's day there were no "Rev Dr King Jr Blvds" for Black people to be murdered upon. In Atlanta at the time these streets were named after Confederate Soldiers and the killers were of a different hue.
Tavis Smiley - start your own "luncheon" in which you break bread over the issues in our community today!! Their black and white "civil rights" films that they show each year don't have the "7.1 theater sound" that is needed to attract our young people today behind an "ORGANIC Competency Development Movement".
