The sign above is from "The Vernon Johns Story". The "rebel rousing" Christian preacher that preceded Dr King at the "Dexter Street Baptist Church" in Montgomery Alabama.
Rev Johns put the sign up in reference to the bigoted White leadership who saw agents of the law murdering Black people. The sign was his way of indicting those who's entrenched bigotry prevented them from making the needed changes within the consciousness of those who were killing Black people at a higher than normal rate.
Fast forward to 2011 and unfortunately the proportion of "righteous indignation" signs seen on churches against the forces that Rev Johns had to deal with has greatly diminished (except in the minds of the Racism Chaser). The signs that might prove SELF-INDICTING don't ever appear. Since they don't have enough "I's" in their velcro lettering collection - they don't bother posting the messages that might step upon their own toes. Have you ever had an ingrown toenail and someone stepped upon it? Indeed it hurts.
Atlanta GA: December 4th - Man shot, killed on MLK
Transparency Report - My Agenda:
My intent is to show the consequences of the "Black Agenda" having been hijacked. What was purported to be a means of organizing the people in the Black community to focus upon a coordinated effort to bring "social justice" upon the streets where we live, making them equal to "other streets" has sucked our original community consciousness into the "sport of politics".One murder on Martin Luther King Jr Drive in Atlanta should not raise awareness of any sort of crisis. The fact that this is the second murder on "MLK Dr" in about 5 weeks in Atlanta AND, as I have noted before - the streets named after our "Civil Rights Heroes" have the distinction of being more prevalent locations for assaults upon Black people - brings into question the entire scheme that we have been enlisted in under the cover of "The Black Agenda".
As a resident of metro Atlanta I listened in to Civil Rights Pharisee Rev Joseph E Lowery Blvd advocate the removal of "Confederate Generals" from the street signs around Atlanta BECAUSE:
- The people of the community look up and see their long time oppressors being honored and they can't help but feel depressed
- Upon seeing "THEIR heroes" honored on the signs - the people will take more pride in their community and the violence will decrease and they will take better care of their community
My issue is that the "Civil Rights Pharisees" who SOLD us on a prescription are always allowed to walk away unscathed when it becomes clear: "This is another fine mess you've gotten us into".
If we analyze their M.O. it is the case that they always seek outward, institutional change but are incompetent at getting Black people to change. Not "change" in the way of compelling us to MARCH, VOTE, or SIGN petitions. The CHANGE that I am talking about involves the establishment of common sense principles of behavior and upkeep of the community, making it clear that the only way that the desired outcomes for the community are possible is when they are SUPPORT PILLARS for the uplift. Instead we have the notion of "Social Justice" that creates an "Outsourcing Consciousness" where this high living standard is a birthright of our citizenship.
If the original "struggle" was to protect our people from violent assault at the hands of people who had a consciousness where they devalue our worth - does it matter that this consciousness has now infected some people WITHIN our community? Or is there some type of protection racket which demotes this as a threat compared to the other sources of attack upon Black people?

The murder scene is near MLK Dr and Peyton Road.
Peyton Road is the location of the church where I took this church this picture shortly after Troy Davis was executed. The murder scene from the other day is merely 3 blocks south of St Paul's Episcopal Church. Clearly the "air conditioning" of the church does not cool the air in the community up to MLK Dr.
It is far easier to compel the state to halt "State Sponsored Executions" than it is to organize the layers of community based cultural interactions to compel the young people who's consciousness is being incubated within this same community to display more respect for life.
It is so clear, to me at least, that the reason why the "Black Racial Services Machine" go out of the way in their activism against capital punishment is because they need a way to compensate for the internal shame that they feel that their communities that they were charged with providing stewardship over the people within are so commonly listed on the police reports.
By rendering EXTERNAL indictments and suggesting grand conspiracies against Black people - they can turn "shame" into "moral outrage" - keeping their enemies on trial for them leaving the community to render what the character that is maintained within to produce "Strange Fruit".
Add this to the list of the COSTS that our community is made to suffer as a result of our hijacking into the "American Political Domain".
