Ms Maxwell - Did The Grio.com hire you from the "Obama Steno Pool"?
Instead of me content with "insulting you" and then moving on I AM GOING TO SET THE ARGUMENT FOR YOU and then hope that you will eventually GROW into a journalist.
Again - I understand that The Grio.com speaks from the vantage point of the Progressive Democratic Party and the Obama Administration.  I get it.
What you can't bring yourself to understand, it seems, is that OBAMA, HOLDER, the Democratic forces in the Federal government and (BIG FINISH COMING UP) all of the "Favorable People in lower rungs of government) WERE SUPPOSED TO PROVIDE A FIX to the "Neo-Jim Crow" system that is popularly advanced by Black Progressive-Fundamentalists.
Do you find it ironic, Ms Maxwell that "New Jim Crow" is said to be a conspiracy to DESTROY THE BLACK COMMUNITY by racist forces locking up Black males as a means to collapse the Black community - YET if we look at the "Mission Accomplished metros of
* Atlanta
* Detroit
* Washington DC
* Baltimore
* Chicago
* Philadelphia.............
the CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM is dominated surely by PROGRESSIVES and has a very high percentage of BLACK OFFICIALS running the CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM.
Ms Maxwell if you, a Black person gets arrested in Atlanta - EVERY node that you matriculate through in the system is controlled by a Black person (The Police that will arrest you, the jailers that will hold you, the district attorney that will try to lock you up, the public defenders off that will try to expose them as "racist", the judges that will likely hear your case, the sheriff's department that will take you on to the "County Jail")
The real story hear, Ms Maxwell - if you were not a stenographer, is that DESPITE WHAT WE BLACKS WERE TOLD as THE PROBLEM and then THE CURE - even in MISSION ACCOMPLISHED ZONES - Black people are imprisoned at a rate far out of proportion with our population numbers and BLACKS ARE EMPLOYED to guard them.
From my vantage point Ms Maxwell - I watch the local news that does scathing expose's against the Fulton County Georgia Court System.   Over the past 6 months they have shown muckraking reports on  THREE BLACK PEOPLE have been jailed due to ADMINISTRATIVE ERRORS by the criminal justice system - who's officials receive the MAJORITY BLACK VOTE.
The local NAACP has not joined in with the (White) attorney who always seems to be fighting for JUSTICE against the incompetent system
The local Civil Rights Pharisees have not teamed up with her
There has been on OCCUPATION of the courts and the jail - aside from when they are arrested after the park is cleared out.
Ms Maxwell - I ask that you look at your present "macro arguments" and discover where they are presently ATTACHED TO.
They are singularly attached to the notion that THE REPUBLICAN PARTY - as the antagonists of Obama and the Democratic Party and PROGRESSIVE-FUNDAMENTALIST POLITICS are the prime reason why your question for "Social Justice" has not been realized.
Your arguments can't stand as we go WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY and inspect the areas were your enemies have been CLEARED OUT - based on past claims that the Black community's salvation would come IF WE VOTED FOR IT.
I am NOT arguing that your ideological enemy has a cure.
I  AM ARGUING that what you and others are selling the Negro HAS NOT BEEN A CURE.  Yet you continue to try and sell us.
Your articles merely reinforce what has been proven to not be a cure.  Now your main goal is to provide affirming messages to fellow ideological bigots.

I notice one thing when I read the majority of your content:  YOU REPORT FROM THE VANTAGE POINT OF OBAMA, THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY AND PROGRESSIVE-FUNDAMENTALISM rather than from the perspective of what is actually happening WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
Do you notice that if an ideological and political enemy of the prevailing sentiment of Black people was in power your headline would have said "Blacks Get The Christmas Gift Of UNEMPLOYMENT While The Supporters Of The President Seem Out Of Touch With The Condition Of Black People As His Rating Says 'Let The Blacks Eat Cake' "
But wait, it would be incorrect analysis, The Grio.com, to look at the condition of Black America in a "spot check" upon Obama's 3 years in office.  Our community has been ingesting the belief that VOTING OUR WAY INTO SALVATION (by Voting for Democrats) was going to cure us.   This for at least 50 years - when Malcolm X warned us about doing so.  He told us that we would lose our Black Community Consciousness into the POLITICAL FOOTBALL GAME.  
The Grio - Why don't report from the vantage point of an INVESTOR IN A PARTNERSHIP who wants the CORPORATION that his his holding to stand in the best light for MARKETING PURPOSES?
Why not from the vantage point of a PATIENT who when to a certified doctor for a cure.  He told you to INGEST THIS MEDICINE and pay for it with your "Equal Black Ballots" and use your "Community Development Consciousness" as the FAITH that his treatment would CURE YOU?
With you STILL AILING why do you agree to serve as the marketing for THIS PHYSICIAN?
Do you understand that the reason why you report from the vantage point of your PARTNERSHIP rather than of THE BLACK COMMUNITY is because you now stand with the consciousness that Malcolm X WARNED BLACK PEOPLE ABOUT!!!!!
Your interests in:
* ACTUALLY OBTAINING Quality Public Schools for Black people .......
* SAFE STREETS for our people
* THRIVING LOCAL ECONOMIES to employ our people and improve our balance of trade (within our communities)
* Have our INDIVIDUAL HEALTH and RELATIONSHIP HEALTH be a function of the behaviors that our CULTURE guides is toward.....................
................IS BECAUSE you were specifically assembled by a corporate media entity for the purposes of riling up Black people in our POLITICAL CONSCIOUSNESS and IDEOLOGICAL SENSIBILITIES in a PRE-PRESCRIBED manner.
The FAILURE OF OUR PEOPLE to achieve the promised ends DOES NOT compel your corporate subsidiary to change its original operating charter from MSNBC / NBC Universal.
Thus we have to conclude that The Grio (and The Root.com) can NEVER be allowed to become a "compass tool" for the Black Community's SALVATION but only reenforcements for "POLITICAL BLACK CAMPAIGN" purposes.
I am not "mad at you".
I am merely analyzing you based on what you put out and WHERE OUR COMMUNITY REMAINS after paying our money for your pharmacological concoctions that promise a cure.
About a month ago I posted some questions for The Grio staff to ask themselves:  "IF THE GRIO.COM WAS THE ONLY NEWS SOURCE FOR BLACK PEOPLE - WHERE WOULD WE STAND 50 YEARS FROM NOW?".    Are you helping or hurting our consciousness?  (Read most of the responses below to figure out WHAT your are stoking in "The Consciousness Of The Negro".   Surely MSNBC is happy with their investment)
