There are some "Embedded Black Fox Confidence Men" who equate "The Black Best Interests" with those who are in political power as they look past the conditions of the 'Black man on the street".
In fact, they know that most of you can be compelled to look past your own condition by either "taking one for the team" thus being silent or summarily blame some outside threat with having caused the present situation within. (See Detroit, Newark, Flint). As a result you are a dependable "team member" fighting what is sold to you as a "Racial Struggle" when in truth it is pure and simply the case that you are on the "line of scrimmage" at the "Malcolm X Political Football Game". The concussions that you have suffered from your past plays make you ever more intent to tackle the enemy on the other team and not realize that you are merely being put into play for the service of other forces.
The main criticism that I have of the majority of people who claim to be "Black Press" agenda - purporting to represent the interests of the Black community is that when a steady stream of "corrective feedback" comes their way - something to which they are more committed to prevents them from stitching it all together to provide ANALYSIS in their columns, radio shows, television shows and propaganda web sites.
Lets look at two sets of FACTS:
Black Migration Patterns Exposed By The 2010 US Census
- US Census Shows Affluent Blacks Moving South And Into The Suburbs
Black Politicians And Civil Rights Groups Claim Black Community Injury In Redistricting Battles
- Maryland Judges Approve New District Lines In Maryland With 2 Majority Black Districts
- US Justice Department Approves Georgia Redistricting Maps
(first two links taken from Redding News Review)
I have been reporting for many years about the clearly observable migration patterns of Black people. My first hand observations were affirmed by the official 2010 US Census count.
While historical accounts detail how Black people tend to "leave oppressive situations" and migrate to "opportunity" - strangely enough there has been observable reluctance by analysts - Black and White to do deep inspection on what we are "moving away from" TODAY. What has replaced that "racist hiring manager in the South" that propelled us Northward some 70 years ago as we are repelled from certain areas that have a common attribute? Of course I attribute this reluctance to "tell the truth" as the guard against "self-indictment" of the ideology and political machine that took over these "Mission Accomplished Zones" that our people are now departing.
In the second group of links certain political operatives and agenda that purport to advance the interests of the Black community are claiming that the loss of "majority minority districts" is a violation of the Voting Rights Act and dilutes "minority representation" in the city/state/federal legislature.
Its a given that I as a Black man do not believe that a significant portion of Progressive-Fundamentalist elected officials represent MY best interests and also that the results in these "Mission Accomplished Zones" prove that they don't represent the districts interests either. They are merely for the purposes of building POWER among elected officials, the political machine that they are attached to and the "Progressive-Joint Venture" that the "Black Community Development Consciousness" has been co-opted into.
If you go back and read the comments made about the pending redistricting of Chicago you might be stunned to see the blatant "racial poker" that is being played as "the Blacks", "the Hispanics" and "the Whites" all speak in terms of maximizing "Their Racial Majority District" count. For those who have taunted America as proclaiming a "post racial society" they are among the greatest violators of this principle with their own scheming.

Put my personal observations and expressed opinions aside though because I am both an outlier from the prevailing Black political consciousness position and an analyst of "what makes the Black Community political mind tick? ". Instead of focusing on ME - let us look at what is compelling Black people to migrate out of the areas that are, at least on paper - "Mission Accomplished Zones" for all that the Black Racial Services Machine overlay has had us STRUGGLE for for more than 50 years.
The foundation of my growing lack of respect for the "Black Press" and "Progressive Academic Institutional Intellectuals" is that they are so bound by their ideological entrenchments that they are unwilling to stitch these two truths about our present existences together and acknowledge that our community indeed can be USED - even when what we are being usurped into nearly perfectly connects with the prevailing ideological points of reasoning.
The antidote to this usurpation is to focus on the EFFECTIVE RESULTS and not the level of POPULARITY. It stands to reason that the very same people who argue that "We Wuz Damaged By 400 Years Of Slavery"...............are also damaged by 400 years of slavery in their present consciousness. Their skills of articulation merely allow them to communicate their damaged consciousness more effectively than the average brother on the street - per my reading of their arguments.
I assure you that a person who makes frequent references to "The Least Of These", makes the case that the present "Human Resource Development Institutions" are unable to make the force of "400 Years Of Slavery" attenuate as new batches of young people matriculate through them AND who promise us salvation via VOTING - do NOT have the interests of an "Organically Competent Black Community" that builds itself up through its institutions as their goal.
They often sell our people on the notion that NATIONALIZED Social Justice is the key to what ails us. Upon achieving this point, via the force of law and "Progressive Public Policy" our equal humanity will have been affirmed by society. They hand you a glass full of boiling saltwater, with the promises that as they incrementally raise the temperature of larger bodies of water - we will be SAVED. ......................but only if we stay congregationally united.
You Don't Have To Abandon Progressivism To Erect Transparent Governance
In the chart above I have decided to not apply my personal bias in assessing where the Black community now stands on the chart. You don't even have to agree with me that a community that can achieve maximized "Organic Competencies" among its own people and have them govern themselves and their interests as close to home as possible is a worthy goal.
The bigger threat to me is that there is little CONSCIOUSNESS about our present standing. This is exposes our vulnerability to usurpation by those who wish to capitalize off of our community grievances.
I accept that there needs to be a variety of voices and ideologies within our community. As I listen to "Fight The Power Black Wing Talk Radio" I appreciate their community involvement and promotion of certain cultural affairs that I would not have otherwise known about. At the same time I don't believe that this one ideology, when it monopolizes all aspects of the Black community is capable of producing globally favorable results - just as a conservative monopoly would fail as well.
My problem is with DISHONESTY AND HIJACKING!!!
The purposeful stringing along of our people from "grievance" and/or political battle to the next one - all without ever having to stand and account for the shortfalls that our present standing represent in the grand scheme of promises that were erected upon us.
With respect to the chart again - When I hear Dr Claude Anderson talking about "cornering the market in the seafood industry supply chain" or building "Africa-town" in Detroit - that which is great for the prospects of jobs and economic power fails because it ultimately demands money that is in the government's hands as subsidies needed to get it off of the ground. The rebuttal "THEY got their present power by using the same race based tactics" flies in the face of the long struggle to mitigate racism in public contracting.
The correct answer is to aggregate funds that will eventually be targeted in a racially/community determined manner is to build up a system of economic aggregation and distribution that is outside of the normal government channels. Unfortunately this requires more of a "Put Up Or Shut Up" discipline. In the end most prefer to take the "Affirmative Action carve out" route using the indictment of racism as the driver.
The main problem with "Mission Accomplished Cities" is not "corporate abandonment" as is alleged. It is the fact that the primary JOBS PRODUCERS which also just happened to be the primary target of attack by the new prevailing political power began to vacate - the prevailing presence of mind that remained in the city had never developed a disciplined system by which the abundant "potential" labor could be redeployed, creating an effective alternative to the corporate "consumers of labor".
I don't believe that the irony of one's primary enemy (the capitalist corporation) being the primary agent for your economic sustenance and receipt of goods and services has settled in to the minds of most who are still wondering what happened to them. At present they have chosen to "OCCUPY", shifting the indictment away from what has transpired in their "victory" in the urban cores and instead seek to galvanize a national and international movement, all with the hopes of strengthening government's hand against corporate capitalism. They seek to do at this expanded scale what they tried to do more locally.
The reason for the X axis above is because such a consciousness needs to be CHECKED by a firm grounding, lest it fly off, untethered by measured goal. The millions of people who live within these "mission accomplished cities" should have been DEVELOPED into the pillars that will hold up the desired standard of living. While indeed you don't control the actions that take place in a corporate boardroom - you do have control over the consciousness of the young people that matriculate through your INSTITUTIONS.
If this past weekend's events were any indication of the effectiveness of these institutions - I'd say that the Nike Corporation and others have won the battle of the consciousness.
