Indeed - Black Political Discourse can "walk and chew bubble gum at the same time". There are many issues that need to be managed and many voices that can divide and conquer them.
It is also the case that certain problems are a priority. In our history as free people in America "the individual dead Black man" has been the trigger for our state of being "Sick And Tired Of Being Sick And Tired". The pattern of "dead Black men" motivated more direct action from the Black rank & file. The agent of these deaths being certain provided the Black community with the clarity on who is the enemy whose behavior needed to be mollified.
Today "Ninjas are still getting themselves kilt" at a rate far higher than our population percentages justify.
The problem with today's most popular vector of homicide within the Black community is that it comes at the hands of Black people.
In the post-Confederate South - with the Black community's most prevalent killers being distinct from our own band - it was easy for our voices to demand "Justice!!!", asking that the law enforcement and the federal authorities to provide protection for our people.
With our own people as the primary agent of homicides of Black people - the calls to "throw the book at 'em" becomes more precarious and complicated.
The "New Jim Crow Crowers" argue that the high incarceration rates of Black people is an external conspiracy to destroy the Black community. Even in areas where "favorable progressives of all colors", who received 50%+1 of the Black vote, yet the incarceration rates are the same do not dissuade people from alleging a conspiracy.
The more tactful approach is to blame the resulting ecosystem of violence and murder upon the larger national economic conditions and the unwillingness to dispense more state and federal resources into the places where "The Least Of These" live in high concentrations. By expanding the indictment on the nation the avoidance of "Blaming The Victims" - the cornerstone of progressive-fundamentalist dogma - is used as a defensive shield against the indictment against their governance of these places and the people within.
The Political Overlay That Smothers The Places Where "The Least Of These" Live
Though New Orleans and other places that contribute to the 7,000 Black homicides per year body count are "Mission Accomplished Zones" - the political victory won - few people are inclined to look back at the promises that were made to the Black community as the key benefit of our loyal investments in the machine who's power now cascades from these bedrock communities up through to national politics.
My stance is clear - I do not have the power to force anyone to change. I can only detail the COST of their entrenchment.
To be clear - Yes I focus upon the entrenched, Progressive-Fundamentalist, Democratic Party machine that dominates these places. Black people voting Republican will not change a damned thing. If you see how Cornell West - the Progressive or Herman Cain the Republican were treated by the "Defenders Of Blackness" these pass few months (prior to Prof West choosing to "Occupy") - this should provide a sufficient window of what can be expected if the Black community split into partisan factions WHILE RETAINING our present consciousness.
My argument is that the Black community's present outsource consciousness onto the American Political Domain is the problem.
Longitudinal problems like the disproportionately high young Black male homicide rate, when placed into the political domain has the Embedded Confidence Men within the Black Community to go all the way around the block, casting indictments against the greater society while immobilized in their ability to compel local Black people whose confidence they hold to realign their consciousness and behavior in line with more productive community outcomes.
My frustration stems from the active dishonesty of these operatives. They are fully aware that they have failed to build up the infrastructure within the Black communities that they govern that will confine the people down this more productive path. Instead of developing an organically productive vision for the future - they know that it is far easier to compel a people to travel in a certain direction using the power of FEAR.

If There Was A Transparent Community Consciousness Force Of Protection
The forces that credibly secure the interests of the Black community understand the harm that short term ideological and political victories that fail to build up the people produce long term damage to our community's interests.
Today's prevailing Black community consciousness fails to see that that which is done with CONSENSUS, as failure to deliver upon the promises does not trigger necessary redirection, ultimately produces COMPLICITY as those who should have resisted and rejected such usurpation are seen standing with the crowd, fearing rebuke for "Speaking Truth To Their Power".
I am of the opinion that those confidence men who have embedded themselves within the ranks of our people but who work for the benefit of our people's ideological and partisan entrenchment into the "American Political Domain" have fundamental doubt in Black people's ability to field a "cultural consciousness" that will have the problems that we presently suffer from mitigated UPON THE BACKS OF OUR OWN PEOPLE as we are made to align ourselves with ORGANIC COMPETENCIES rather than "social justice RIGHTS" as dispensed from the government. These two forces stand at odds. While they are not mutually exclusive on a point by point basis it is true that they cannot reside on the same "point" at the same time.
Education of Black kids, for example, is foremost a community level responsibility. The same people who hope to have a greater portion of their "human resources" to be trained up to return to the community as "professional service agents" must take affirmative control of these young people's development, insisting that they remain focused on this singular goal because of the importance of the matter.
It stands to reason that the "racist system" that conspires to destroy Black people (their words) is never going to provide the resources, en masse, that prove that a Black youth is worthy of EQUAL dispensation to that of their own kind. Our challenge as a community is to make the members of our community greater recipients of our attention and energy than is the political campaign that makes promises that they will be made equal.
At the same time I am not willing to lift a finger higher "for my community" than this same community is willing to compel a "brother on the street" who they call "The Least Of These" that he too must align himself with the community consciousness that is necessary for uplift. It is this system of arbitrage by which the expectations placed upon "those who are blessed" while subtracting the expectations from "The Least Of These" that is the fundamental dysfunction of the present day Black Community Governance Model.
After decades of USING our people's grievances to stuff ballot boxes - the painful truth that the people have not been built up into the 'UN-Least Of These" stands as the reason behind these dreadful statistics.
The COST of our usurped consciousness into the "Malcolm X Political Football Game".
Sadly the main architects of this scheme remain unrepentant as they vye for leadership through the next interval of the struggle.
