The 'Equal Black Ballots' - "Their Coming To Take It Away. Oh My!!!"

The Grio (Owned By MSNBC): Mississippi Voter ID Law Would Disenfranchise Black Voters

Mr Fernandez:

I understand that your organization seeks primarily to bring African Americans and other "Least Of These People" up to parity with the "UN-Least Of These People", primarily by ensuring that their right to vote is not impinged upon. The fact that they mark their ballots in a manner that is favorable to you is merely a secondary point in my argument.

As we attempt to move my argument from "theory" to practical impact upon Black people - the best way that I know how to do so is to remove from you your endless ability to make INDICTMENTS and instead apply some measure of PROPORTIONALITY to the threat that you seek to bring to our attention.  Contrasting this "threat" with a far greater threat that appears to pass you by.

As we look at the realities of the present day America and enumerate the forces that successfully work counter to the interests of the Black community - and do so in an unchecked manner (without the US Justice Department's rebuke)  - I am puzzled why individuals and organizations that "think like you do" believe that the threat to the "Right To Vote" looms larger as a threat to Black people than is the case with the "Political Machines" that are duly elected by "The Least Of These" people who submitted their ballots - unmolested by any "Ballot Snatching Republicans".

Despite the fact that they now run our local schools, our local governments that are supposed to protect us, the legislative arm that is supposed to lead the local economic development efforts - despite the wide scale failure to do so, Mr Fernandez - it seems that your organization provides the necessary diversion to allow them to conclude that the failure that they are suffering despite their "Victories" has its roots in some greater force that was actually outside of the domain that you said would lead to prosperity if they voted............the last time and the time before that and the time before that.

Seriously Mr Fernandez - when you saw the past two seasons of "Brick City" - where the city of Newark promoted the array of leadership that their voters chose using the highest integrity in the voting process - did you see a resulting system that produced the conditions necessary for prosperity of 'The Least of These People"?

Let me tell you what I saw.  I saw - in ONE CITY - what is painfully true in many other cities today.  The dysfunctional conditions that are present in Newark and other cities renders the voice of the people - as expressed by their "Equal Ballots" that are submitted MOOT in its ability to fundamentally change their lives and living conditions.  There is a far greater number of Black people who suffer injury as they live within an ecosystem that they affirmed the leadership, associated ideology and public policy pronouncements than there are Black people who after having tried and were denied the issuance of a government issued photo-id - are now not able to vote.

IF your goal is indeed "Better Living For The Least Of These By Providing Them With A VOICE In Government" it seems that the onus is on you to move beyond cherry picked indictments and show the BETTER LIVING

All along organizations like yours conditioned Black people to "VOTE FOR OUR SALVATION" while failing to build up a functional ecosystem with institutions that could allow these people to achieve what was promised by the vote.  The majority of which occurring when they don't have a ballot in hand.  When the IDEOLOGICAL ENEMY moved away the "Remaining Progressives" began to fracture and "Progressive on Progressive" infighting transpired.  (You can go to YouTube and see Brick City or "The Mean Streets With Judge Mathis" )

Ironically, Mr Fernandez - these same "Mission Accomplished Cities" that VOTE in a manner that is pleasing to your organization are the same cities that are suffering population losses due to people exiting in pursuit of OPPORTUNITY.

Ultimately, sir - you have a right to free speech, free assembly and to craft legal injunctions against any policy that YOU FEEL is unconstitutional.

My goal is to place some "Dimensions" around your claims and then contrast them to the REAL WORLD experience of Black people and then ask them if your world view fits theirs.

Is it possible Mr Fernandez- that as The Grio runs more critical articles about Herman Cain - a Black man who has never held an elective office - in 4 months that if they bothered to do a transparent analysis of these various "Mission Accomplished City Governments and School Boards" that those elected officials that are now saying "Damn, I am glad that I am not a Black Republican" would be made to whip into shape because they understand that the Muckraking Black Journalism Force is now back on the scene.

Instead - "The Grio" would have to write to get permission from two layers of management - MSNBC and Comcast - before they are allowed to change course - and work to distill favorable conditions WITHIN the Black Community by actually FOCUSING ON THE BLACK COMMUNITY rather than outside threats - Real, Imagined or Republican.
