Analysis

This case should be added to the "Another Ninja Got Himself Kilt" file except there were 5 Black teens and not just one who's lives was taken by the murderous "rules of the streets" - practiced in Newark and other 'Mission Accomplished Cities".

Operatives groups like the NAACP should not be expected to sound even a "peep" as a result of this trial in which the killers of these 5 Black teens about 34 years ago remains on the streets - per the judgment of the law of the land.

If only Lee Anthony Evans had promised to "not sleep until the REAL killer of these 5 Black teens is found" his nickname of "OJ" would have raised some eyebrows among the "Protectors Of Blacknews - By Abolishing The STATE Death Penalty".

Lee Anthony Evans of Newark will walk the streets of this fine city, unmolested by any public shaming as is the case in Savannah Georgia with Sylvester "Red" Coles in the murder of Officer Mark MacPhail.
The presence of "Real Killer", it seems, is only used to spring Negroes that are on trial by those who proclaim the defendant's INNOCENCE........NOT as a solemn vow to FIND THE KILLER after the judicial proceeding is drawn to a conclusion.

The real question for the Black Community to digest is - WHAT IS THE STATE OF JUSTICE WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY prior to or just after the official, government run TRIAL in pursuit of JUSTICE is held in session?

Resting in their graves are:

  1.  Michael McDowell -16 years old in 1978
  2.  Randy Johnson - 16 years old in 1978
  3.  Alvin Turner 16 years old in 1978
  4.  Melvin Pittman 17 years old in 1978
  5. Ernest Taylor 17 years old in 1978
The ages recorded on their tombstones when they were MURDERED on that fateful day of August 20, 1978 in the city of Newark New Jersey.

The families of five teenagers burned alive in 1978 have more reason to grieve today after the man being tried for their murders was found not guilty by a Newark jury. “Not guilty does not mean innocent,” said Terry Lawson, sister of one of the victims, after the verdicts against accused killer Lee Evans were read. Lawson was 11 when she saw last saw her older brother, Michael McDowell, climb into Evans’ truck on the night he disappeared. “Mr. Evans may escape the law, but never the Lord,” she told the New York Daily News. Evans represented himself against 10 murder-related charges. No one had ever been tried for the crimes until two detectives revisited the case in 2008 based on testimony of Evans’ cousin, Philander Hampton, who agreed to testify in return for a 10-year prison sentence and $15,000 in relocation money. Hampton claimed that Evans, who was 25 at the time, planned the murder as payback for the teens breaking into his home and stealing a pound of marijuana from him. Prosecutors tried to prove that Hampton lured the teens to a vacant Newark building and drew them into a closet before nailing the door shut, pouring gasoline and setting the fire.

In the video below Mr Evans proves himself to be wise beyond his years.  HE KNOWS that the best way to sway the sympathy of the prevailing Black consciousness in the city of Newark is to turn the attention away from the 5 Negroes who "got themselves KILT" some 30 plus years ago and to engage in "Justice Thurgood Marshall Justice" by noting that THE REAL CRIMINALS sit in the City Of Newark Halls Of JUSTICE.

Mr Evans, who represented himself in the trial - is wily enough to understand that the average Negro in Newark is NOT to going to "SELF-INDICT THEMSELVES", acknowledging that they VOTED FOR every one of the officials that preside over the "New Jim Crow" justice system in their fair city.  He is aware that by linking in with the indictments that the masses of Black people feel - he might be invited by the Newark NAACP to speak at a rally for "JUSTICE!!!!!" held outside of Governor Chris Christie's office entitled - "How New Jim Crow Tried To Lock Me Up And The Republican Governor Did Nothing To Stop Them From Doing It Because I Was Black And Represented One Less Democratic Vote Against Him".

The Real Killer - like "The Candy Man" may show up if you say his name 3 times.

From the NJ.com story:

NEWARK — Lee Anthony Evans has been acquitted on all murder counts in the deaths of five teenage boys who vanished from a Newark street on Aug. 20, 1978, the final chapter on what had long been among the most enduring mysteries in city history.
The jury in Superior Court in Newark found Evans, 58, not guilty of all five counts of murder and all five counts of felony murder in the deaths of Michael McDowell, Randy Johnson and Alvin Turner, all 16, and Melvin Pittman and Ernest Taylor, both 17.
When the jury foreman began reading the “not guilty” verdicts for each count, relatives of the victims began quietly sobbing, hugging each other for comfort. Among them were Terry Lawson, sister of Michael McDowell; and William McDowell, Michael’s uncle. It was Lawson who first contacted investigators on the 20th anniversary of the boys’ disappearance, in 1998, to urge authorities to take another look. And it was Lawson and McDowell who have been most vocal in their certainty that Evans killed the boys.
