(I have to say it yet again) Just as the great journalist George S Schuyler warned us more than 60 years ago - THERE IS NO "BLACK PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT". There is only a PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT.
The left-wing Occupiers around the nation are merely giving the "Black Progerssive-Fundamentalists" a framework for them to latch onto as a means of advancing their pre-existing leftist public policy agenda.
PERIOD.
The Street Cred That The Black Fight The Power Forces Seek To Give To "The Occupation"
As Black Americans we are fully versed on how it is true that those who write "the narrative" of history also are awarded with the possibilities of creating the heroes and the villains of the time.
When it comes to their ideological soulmates who are encamped in various public squares they can be heard on "Black-wing Talk Radio" going out of their way to provide context and cover for these people in the very same way that they were heard placing the tar of RACISM(!!!!) upon the agents in the Tea Party.
To be clear - I am a 100% supporter of free speech. I will defend their ability to stand up a commercial media operation (well actually it is CBS Radio, RadioOne, etc) and draw a crowd of listeners that the corporate advertisers agree are worthy.
My issue comes with they purport to be operating in "THE BLACK COMMUNITY'S VOICE AND INTERESTS". Nothing can be further from the truth.
When we strip away the camouflage of their skin color, the covertness that their vocal tones affords them and their intimate knowledge of the pain that makes Black people tick. In front of your eyes wills stand a naked leftist Progressive who's agenda is that of the voice of a "race-less" lumpen proletariat.
Again - this is not the indictment either. They have the right to speak as the voice of the oppressed working class.
My problem is that their disposition never changes after they obtain "Mission Accomplishment".
Atlanta Is Racist
Those who cast out the attempts of "the right wing" to hijack the moral compass of "The Civil Rights Movement" by suggesting that 'Dr King would never lower himself to this if he were alive today' - understand the threat to such usurpation because THEY do the very same thing all along.
In 2011 "favorable people" run all of the seats of power in Atlanta and Fulton County Georgia. Any Black person arrested within the city of Atlanta will make his way through the criminal justice system in which Black people have the prevailing footprint upon the operations of the process.
This truth does not force abatement of the claims that the racist hand that slapped us during the "Civil Rights Movement" now swipes "The Occupation".
The only reason for these references is because the vocalizer knows the impact of these references upon "The Negro Mind".
After listening to a radio caller tell "Fight The Power" that "Atlanta is more RACIST than Birmingham" I was made to understand that the term "RACIST" is empty unless we take the time to distill the key elements of the person's indictment.
In the case of this caller - she was lamenting the fact that after all of the "investments of equal Black ballots" into the construct of the present presiding machine - it still takes its orders from the "Downtown White Business Establishment".
Of course - we never get into the discussions about how the prevailing Black Progressive Establishment never got around to filling the high rise corporate towers that were left with high occupancy rates as "the enemy" absconded to avoid being a "good corporate citizen" that high regulation and redistributionist public policy would mandate them to be.
Ironically the channel through which Black people will be "deployed" as full working agents for the advancement of America - is when these same corporate entities are made to yield by the power of government and provide this opportunity to "the least of these". In this "boil the ocean" scenario - the "Black Left" and their union partners are never made to create viable "corporations" of their own that live by this creed. They are always chasing after the enemy, seeking to make them comply.
The Necessary Inferiorization Of Black Establishment Figures In Order To Protect A Destructive Ideology
The ideological bigot is more intent on retaining his ideology in the face of real world evidence to the contrary then he is in changing the world THROUGH the application of his ideology.
When the Mayor Of Atlanta, Kasim Reed - a force that has worked his way through college and the Georgia State Senate as a voice of the little people - is found to be working against the transactional interests of the Progressive machine that put him into power - it was necessary for them to find some explanation for his CHANGE.
The Atlanta "occupation" in Wooddruff Park has the shadow of the Georgia Pacific building upon it during the evening sunset. As time moves forward each day and the 11pm curfew of the City of Atlanta comes about - those individuals who are "occupying" for the advancement of "social justice" become lawbreakers. At the 11pm bewitching hour on one fateful evening the Koch Brothers - the owners of Koch Industries which owns Georgia Pacific (the employer of thousands of Blacks) makes a phone call to the Democratic mayor of Atlanta, commanding that he clear out this threat to their capitalist agenda from the green space that is uncomfortably close to their corporate owned property (and SunTrust Bank) across the street.
Regardless of it is Kasim Reed in the mayor's office of Atlanta or Barack Obama in the White House - when it comes to spanning the gap in the mental understanding of what a Progressive-Fundamentalist BELIEVES should be transacted in the real world by a person who previously passed their inspection versus what this same person is seen doing when he assumes the seat of power that they had invested their "Equal Black Ballots" for him to obtain - it is imperative for them to identify a force that has "corrupted him".
This, in aggregate is the "Establishment Power Repudiation" that I have identified previously. The operative that they have placed into power in the machine that they wanted to see him radically reform from the inside is now seen waging the attacks upon the forces of "social justice" that they had previously condemned with "the last guy" or the "racist civil rights era" occupant.
Per their reasoning - President Obama, in making a decision of the "Keystone Pipeline" in the mid-western plains is being "manipulated by special interests" to approve the environmentally destructive deal. These were the words of an "Occupier" who was interviewed the other day. In her parlance - Obama has a "innate GOOD" within him. These negative forces stack an obstacle in front of him, forcing him to make an aggressive move of avoidance of the collision and thus the detour route that he takes is unfortunately counter to the will of the progressives who are backing him.
(I wish I were making this up, folks).
This is merely a coping mechanism, used by individuals who are just as BIGOTED into their own world view that they accuse their more conservative BIGOTS of being infected by.
The unfortunate consequence of their common entrenchment - focusing still on the progressive (because this is the force that totally dominates the Black political discourse) - is that despite their victories in obtaining these seats of power, the resulting failures and or actions that echo that of "the enemy" are left for the entrenched to put forth a body of talking points to rationalize.
As such we hear three distinct responses to the violations of their progressive sentiments
- SILENCE - If a "conservative enemy" fails to pick up on the indictment against the favorable individual then the person in power escapes the violation. The progressive who is carrying the water merely has a heavier load
- COMPLICITY - In the case of "Obama Bombing Africa" - such an offense of "The Motherland" by the US Military which would have otherwise drawn protests, is instead spun as "Obama Having Answered The 3 AM Call" and yet STILL the "racists" who do not want to bow down and praise the strength of the "Black Commander In Chief" as being up to the task - is never framed in the terms of "IMPERIALISM", the very indictment that the Progressive would have cast - if an enemy had access to the launch codes
- REDIRECTION - The need to find the "Shadow Government Force" that actually made the call, forcing the hands of the hero. Thus despite the previous sales job which told the masses that the ascension into power of the "favorable person" would lead to their prosperity are now channeled into a greater struggle. They must reach beyond that seat that they now have secured and do a take down of those amorphous forces that has caused the favorable person to act like a capitalist/imperialist/corporatist
Anyone who was foolish enough to believe that "The Left", after elected Obama would accept that the pain that they still suffer would be attributed to the failings of their grand strategy..........does not understand how the mind of Van Jones works.
