With the prevailing consciousness at hand - these news stories do not trigger the demand to FIRE the political leadership over the city for failure. Instead they need to be supported in their efforts to bring more state and federal resources to support "the least of these" within. Those who oppose this are the ones that need to be fired.
In summation - The City of Cleveland Ohio is being caught up in the crosswinds of the state redistricting battle. Since the city has lost significant population due to economic erosion it stands to suffer in the new political boundary lines. The 21st and the 25th districts were once strong "Majority Minority (Progressive Democratic) Districts". In light of the fact that many Blacks have operated as "Black Flight Progressives" - departing from the district and impacting the headcount of the "favorable elected officials" that once represented them in government - they might end up in one district.
Even though the standard enemy - the Republicans are chomping at the bit to strengthen their majority in the state and federal legislatures it would be intellectually dishonest to focus the "Black troops" on fighting these efforts. Instead it would be more fruitful to focus on the TRUTH.
The truth is that these "Majority Minority Districts" that were controlled by "Favorable People" have failed to produce or maintain an ecosystem within which the residents inside - the majority of whom are Black could prosper and sustain the quality of life that they desired.
We have been perverted by the messages which tell us that it is important to retain "Black Representation in the legislature so that the BLACK INTERESTS might be protected". The truth is that the eroded state on these very streets that suffered from benign neglect triggered "the flock" to move away and thus threaten the representation in the legislature.
I THOUGHT that we were placing them into office for our profit?
It is clear that the carrot that has been dangled in front of our faces for decades has now been consumed by the mold that has grown upon it.
Do you understand that THIS is the result from the common talking points that are heard by the "Embedded Confidence Men"? Instead of defending their own records they produce "Fear In Negroes" by saying what is commonly heard within Black talking points: "IF you thing that Black folks have it bad now.........Imagine if the Republicans were in control. We would have really been screwed".
This is the most ignorant and destructive consciousness available to our people. It delivers us as decoys into the "Malcolm X Political Football Game".
An unconscious Black person that mouths these statements (and they are plentiful) has no concept about his ability to forge a way ahead that is not so overly dependent upon HIS FAVORED PARTY AND IDEOLOGY.
Sadly he can't see that the opportunity cost of his "Struggle" has been the failure to build up his own competencies within the institutions that he now has control over. With his attention duly focused upon the proper governance of that which he now controls - he can only then look for SUPPLEMENTAL resources from afar that allow him to close the gap in minimum resources needed to operate efficiently.
Instead the "Nationalized Social Justice Meme" operates like a carrot permanently a fixed to a stick that is attached to one's forehead. Since one's basic foraging is based upon the national social contract the functional effect is that the foraging patterns shift from local governance of the institutions at hand and instead "making equality" by walking past these buildings and forming a protest against one's national adversary.
I struggle to understand why most common sensed Black Progressives fail at their ability to INTERPOLATE. If "Mission Accomplished Cities" like Cleveland, Chicago and Detroit were "WON" but our community still "LOST" what is it within your consciousness (other than bigotry) has you to believe that once your ideology is scaled nationally that prosperity will be cascaded upon us?
Who in their right mind - after noting the conditions of the local "Mission Accomplished Zones" will roll over and promote you into national leadership?
The notion of "They Don't Like Black People And Thus They Are Resisting" can easily be countered by noting the places where the progressive bigots approve of the governing officials per their ideological alignment as they look past the squandered human resource development that is taking place WITHIN the Black community. This more than anything else discredits the meme of "Racism Chasing" in that it shows that such an indictment is merely for ideological gain and the protection racket of one's own in the name of IDEOLOGICAL UNITY.
