The Condition Of Memphis Today

Wharton leads in polls by a substantial margin. His opponents include Edmund Ford Sr., the brother of former U.S. Rep. Harold Ford Sr., and James Harvey, a Shelby County commissioner who has chastised Wharton for backing more than $150 million in tax breaks for companies such as Electrolux and Mitsubishi Electric ( MIELF.PK - news -people ) in the face of budget woes.
All three are black, which is important in a city where 63 percent of about 646,000 residents are African-American, according to the 2010 Census. Memphis was also recently declared the poorest big city in the country by the Census.

Wharton's ability to resolve conflicts has been put to the test. In July, tensions rose when the struggling, majority-black Memphis City Schools system merged with the more successful, majority-white Shelby County school system. Wharton stepped in near the end and helped smooth out what could have been a long, contentious process of planning the merger transition.
Then, when the Memphis school board decided to delay the start of classes until it received millions of dollars owed to it by the City Council, Wharton negotiated a deal and classes began on time.
"If we send a signal to the world that we might close our schools, that would have put a death spiral on us," Wharton said. "So, it was plain necessity. I had to get involved."

 ANALYSIS

If we take a dispassionate look back at the move toward integration 50 years ago - it was indeed for the ability of Black children to receive access to quality education BECAUSE the system purposely denied needed resources to the Black communities that were under their watch.   This overt means of excluding Black people while denying us the means of lifting ourselves us was a shame upon our nation.

In the past 50 years the Black Community's STRUGGLE was largely based on what Bayard Rustin voiced as the strategy for our community uplift - "The Black community will prosper as we take control over our communities and the institutions withing by elected Black people into office as Democrats to advance Progressive public policy that will advance our interests".

This strategy for Memphis is the strategy that is seen in the bulk "Mission Accomplished Zones" where Black people were convinced that by fusing our "Community Development Consciousness" into progressive public policy and investing our "Equal Black Ballots" would lead to prosperity.

Anyone with the ability to make TRANSPARENT ANALYSIS will have to admit that the FRONT END elements were successfully done by the Black Community that was lead on by the "embedded confidence men".    Blacks looked past the interim failures on our way to glory.   

At each check point along the way (the 2 year election cycle) when it was time to ask for EARNEST MONEY - instead of holding out for actual benefits we were shown "portraits on the wall" that made us proud and this was used to hold our confidence. 

Via the benefit of the "time line" those of us who are observant within the Black community are able to obtain a clearer picture of where our community now stands.   Those among us who compelled us to remain UNIFIED were, in truth, seeking to have us remain "IDEOLOGICAL UNIFIED" for their own purposes.   The questions that we should have been asking at each check point in order to effect the necessary course correction, if required, we now see would have derailed THEM FROM THEIR AGENDA.  Their agenda was POWER on behalf of their POLITICAL JOINT VENTURE.

By all accounts these embedded confidence men have the POWER of the "Equal Black Ballot" encamped for their own purposes.  My most accounts the RESIDUAL BENEFITS that the Black community was to receive upon doing our part has not appeared.

As the "Embedded Black Fox Confidence Men" see increasing grievances among the Negro - they know that they need to implant messages that will put us on the RACIAL DEFENSIVE against perceived conservative White racism.   He, as an agent for his joint venture partner - the White Progressive Cheshire Fox - knows that when Black people are placed on the DEFENSIVE we will converge and yield our "Equal Black Ballots" in a manner that achieve the sense of protection - just as they know us to do.

Look At The INSTITUTIONS That They Now Control - Are They Lifting Our People Up Or Injuring Us?

The scheme that appears so clear to me seems obfuscated to the masses.    Some want to make it appear as a crime that the people who made the investment in the strengthening of the institutions within their community are compelled to refuse to continue along the walk that their leadership is taking them on.

The difference between a "confidence walk" and a valid struggle for one's own best interests is the EVIDENCE OF INCREMENTAL INCREASE ALONG THE WAY.

A few months ago we were treated to the painful truth as presented by an objected third party.   The American Negro's WEALTH has not organically increased during the time when we were lulled into happiness and joy by looking at the gains in the AMERICAN POLITICAL DOMAIN.   Though the embedded confidence men attempted to blame this on the bankers in their virtual "Out Of Wall Street" protest that has been going on within the Black community - the truth is that the institutions within our community have not been developed and thus the shifting tides of the national economy continue to prove to be flood waters for the Black community.   This the consequence of integrated CONSCIOUSNESS.

I often ask how my people look past Detroit and Chicago - two of the most "Mission Accomplished Cities" in America and see some future glory by following this present path.   There are few other cities that have THE ENEMY REPUBLICANS removed from power and "favorable people" in power.    If there is little evidence of prosperity in these places - but plentiful evidence of despair then it is clear to me at least that the scheme that has been erected upon the Negro community is NOT to bring us to prosperity but instead to keep us UNIFIED IN STRUGGLE so that something can be harvested from us:

• Our Equal Black Ballots
• Our CONSCIOUSNESS which prevents us from asking questions lest we are said to be disloyal

Without proper MANAGEMENT of our resources and GOVERNANCE over all of the leadership and rank & file in line with some local goals that are protected from usurpation - we will be drawn into the promise that our proximity into White Run Systems - is the only way that our people can be made to prosper.

Ironically the modern day collapse of the Memphis Public Schools and its subsequent merger in the smaller majority White Shelby County School System is evidence of INTEGRATION.   First individual Black kids integrated.  This time the SYSTEM was integrated.

After all of these years of the Bayard Rustin STRUGGLE for control over our INSTITUTIONS - sadly those who pumped the messages into our brains failed to PREPARE US for the task of GOVERNANCE.

Think forward - if the past 50 years of this agenda has lead us to our present fate - What do you imagine that today's messaging is going to lead us?  If there is no ORGANIC GROWTH incumbent within the agenda - you should expect to be in the very same place in 2061 but without a force to save you via integration.
