Dear Black Conservatives of the political or cultural type:
Don't fix your lips to say "If Dr King were alive today he would have........".
As a long time resident of Metro Atlanta I have had sufficient time to understand Dr King by listening to his lieutenants and his family members who have subsequently spoke using his mantle.
During this time I have come to understand that they do not represent a hijacking of his words. They are his line of thinking.
I can also say, however, that if Dr King were alive, standing beside his (now late) wife as she suggested that the government should provide a job for all of the unemployed - I would have opposed his economic theories as being destructive just as I view those who kept close company with him.
During the 2008 campaign I noted the tactic used by certain embedded confidence men. They put forth the notion that "Obama is smarter than all of us in the room" and they demanded that their debate adversary agree. This "self inferiorization" was a tactic used because those asking their adversaries to do so have the same ideological beliefs as then Senator Obama. By compelling the ideological adversary into "enforced reference" - a victory for progressivism was at hand as the debate and inspection was yielded to "Obama's intelligence". (If we only knew then what the data says now).
With Dr King's legacy the same effect is at hand. Seeing Professional Progressive Political Preacher Al Sharpton along with radio host Joe Madison - the first Black offensive coach in the "Malcolm X Political Football Game" using Dr King's Monument dedication weekend for a "Jobs and Justice Rally" those who now claim the "Mantle Of King" also thrive by indicting others for violating King's legacy. All are indicted by themselves.
Dr King chose to speak out against America's military imperialism around the globe which placed the domestic "Social Justice Entitlements" of the "Great Society" at risk. His priorities where thsu maintained.
The "Leading Negroes" of today who seek company with the President Of The United States do so in order to align their agenda and talking points up with the wireless connection from the President's teleprompter. They agree to not publicly criticize "The Power". Their justification is that they do not want to give their common enemies ammunition against him.
Sadly it is increasingly obvious that "Their Enemies" and the enemies of the Black Community are different with only occasional tangency.
To understand their present actions we must turn to a contemporary of Dr King - Malcolm X. Brother Malcolm saw the sympathies of Black people back during his day and warned about the football game that was being played by two competing teams of ideologues at the expense of the Negro. Today "Dem Negroes" that I speak of believe that, as starters for their particular team, "Progress has been made for the Black Community". In truth only their loyalties have been aligned and purchased. Only by transparent measure can we see that this has benefited the absolute standing of the bulk of our people. In their "color commentary" of the game, however, you are lead to believe that the enemy on the 'other team' is responsible for all of our losses.

There is no need to disrespect Dr King in the effort to dismiss those who seek to raise his corpse out of the ground as use it for the tip of their battering ram of indictments that they cast.
Dr King lived in very different days. As Dr King walked down "Hunter Street" in the city of Atlanta during his day he worried that the racist Whites in the "West End" community that was reaching a racial tipping point would attack Black people. Today with "Hunter Street" now named "Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr" - the Black mayor and Black police chief have their minds focused on preventing another Black man from being murdered on "Rev Dr Martin Luther King Dr" - as was the case last weekend - right outside of the now abandoned 'Paschal's Motor Lodge', the restaurant that Dr King used to hold his breakfast meetings with his lieutenants.
Today with so many "Mission Accomplished" political leaders in place and many of the fundamental benefits that their ascension into power was to bring to the Black community yet to be delivered - these forces who utilize King's legacy walk past the corpses on the streets of Black America on their way to their protest rally at the state capital against the "Death Penalty". They are not visually blind to the truth in their community. It is "Ideologically Bigoted Blindness" that keeps them focused.
The numbers bear my claim out - More Black people are murdered in Atlanta on streets named after the civil rights heroes (within two blocks on either side of the thoroughfare) than any other location:
- Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd
- Rev Joseph E Lowery Blvd
- Rev Joseph E Boone Blvd
- Rev Ralph David Abernathy Blvd
- Hamilton E Holmes Drive
PERIOD!!!
They believe they possess:
- The Power To Prioritize Within The Black Community
- The Power To Indict On Behalf Of The Black Community
- The Power To Passover (Those who should be indicted) Because Of The Strategic Value To The Black Community
The large scale material benefits that can be achieved through their "Racism Chasing" agenda have been exhausted as the "low hanging fruit" now have legal recourse if acted upon. Today they are merely working off of the exhaust fumes of their past. They understand the intoxicating effect on the Negro consciousness of these fumes. A Black person placed in a "racially defensive disposition" will yield his "Equal Black Ballots" just as the Embedded Confidence Men desire him to.
By maintaining this control - they effectively advance their IDEOLOGICAL interests while outsourcing the blame for the conditions that have not changed upon their enemies. The functional benefit is that their IDEOLOGY remains unchallenged and is allowed to grow.
Even though Dr King has left this world and their ideological enemy has moved away, allowing them to have their "Mission Accomplished States Rights" as the 'ideological last man standing' in the places they dominate - a condition of "Benign Neglect" has taken place because those superior beings have departed leaving "The Least Of These" to fend for themselves.
In their conscious condition few of "The Least Of These" will notice that the institutions that are now in favorable hands are not producing a sufficient number of the "Un-Least Of These" to justify the present management.
Let them have Dr King. I suspect that they will now have their hands full as the US Park Service "disrespects" them as some policy that "disrespects" the monument is seen as a racial slap in the face. They are better suited at worshiping monuments rather than sculpting our people into the consciousness of the "Equal Human Beings" that we are.
A new band of leadership will come upon the Black community once NEW MESSAGES flow from a NEW CONSCIOUSNESS that precedes them.
Instead of one man leading the way the community will see that strong and abundant leadership at the periphery as the maximum amount of our people understand that we can only rise as high as their individual commitment to the contribution can lift us up.
They are "national collectivists"
