When callers started talking about her "sister station" V-103 which plays in inordinate amount of "Hip Hop Voice of the Street Pirate" songs - "Dr White" the morning talk show host told the caller 'You know how it works. I can't allow you to talk about my SISTER STATION like that on the air.'
In so many words the CORPORATE relationship between WAOK (The People' Station) and WVEE - commonly owned by CBS Radio was more important than "telling the truth and shaming the devil".
But hey - its hard out there to find other employment. Maybe "Dr White" didn't want to suffer from what recently happened to her friend Bev Smith who is now detached from her former radio home.
A subsequent caller - "Fahad" stated that just as WVEE would be held accountable after heavy promotion of their "For Sisters Only" conference ("Black Expo" for Black Women) and offensive content was seen at the show...................so is the case with the residual effects of the MUSIC that they play. Indeed this music has specific messages that are in line with what this young girl was caught doing. (Maybe she was "Just wanting a quickie" and promised to not leave any "hickies"?)
I AGREE!!!
But what about THIS?
We are being "Intellectually Consistent and HONEST" - aren't we?
In addition to "Hip Hop Voice Of The Street Pirate" music these same radio stations played a heavy rotation of commercials compelling their listeners (I can only speak authoritatively about metro-Atlanta) to come out to the latest subdivision to stop RENTING and PURCHASE A HOME.
Why now are they able to walk away from all of the commission checks they received from:
- Builders
- Bankers
Do you see how important it is for them to have a monopoly on the NARRATIVE?
It is understandable about the importance of those who write HISTORY. They get to apply the particular editorial bias that future generations will consume as "the truth".
