BLAX News: Joseph Lowery Says That His Plan To Stop Street Pirate Murders On Ashby Street By Replacing The Confederate Street Name With His Own Has Failed

ATLANTA, Oct. 6, 2011, 10:30 p.m. - The Rev. Joseph Lowery today said that racism has gotten worse since Obama has been elected president and that people who attack him are not patriots.A week after actor Morgan Freeman said that racism has reared its ugly head after Obama's election, Lowery said racism is getting bad."There is no question that racism is more active," Lowery told V-103 WVEE-FM's morning show host Frank Ski. "Part of it may be because there is a great deal of  resentment among a certain segment of people, not everybody, because the majority of voters voted for Obama."Lowery, who turns 90 this week, says he believes the president has done a "wonderful job" and will get re-elected."The struggle is not over," he said. "I think the election of Barack Obama caught a lot of people by surprise, they didn't think that he was going to get elected...And these people are not prepared to deal with a black president and they are determined that he will be a one term president. Now unfortunately, I think, they are willing to risk the well being of the country ... and that's not patriotism, those are not people who love the country, and that's why I think America will wake up."

For the record - I like Professional Progressive Political Preacher and Civil Rights Pharisee Rev Joseph Lowery.   I have seen him speak in person several times.  He has a wonderful personality and sense of humor.   I simply would not place him in control over any key institution WITHIN the Black Community.  His own ideological bigotry makes him the wrong choice for any ORGANIC development initiative WITHIN the Black community.

I have listened to him for at least 20 years making a call for "unity" in which his enemies are told to "drop their foolish ways" and come stand under his "progressive tent" where everyone can live together in peace and happiness.

When it comes to his public policy and "struggle" there are piles of good intentions but many shortfalls from what was promised to the Black Community.  But for the UNITY in the congregation more Black people would be calling out this truth.

It comes as no surprise that Rev Joseph Lowery makes the claim that RACISM(!!!!) has spiked with the election of President Obama.   Firmly into his retirement Rev Lower is now an "Activist Of Leisure".

He does not have:

  • A bumper crop of "Strange Fruit" to point to
  • A school system that won't allow Blacks who are otherwise justified to attend a particular school from doing so
Just as the "Black Struggle" today is in balance a POLITICAL struggle, so are the injuries that Rev Lowery points to as evidence of RACISM(!!!!).

The best way for a "Racist" to cure himself in the eyes of Rev Lowery is to redeem themselves by voting for Obama.  This is merely a new form of the "Come Under My Tent And Drop Your Foolishness" speech that I have heard from him for years.

If Rev Lowery did not bring up RACISM(!!!!) he would then have to talk about:

  • The Failed Promises of Educational Reform Upon The Investment Of The "Equal Black Ballot" Thus Failing The Future Generations Of Black Youth
  • The Silence Of The Outrage of Street Pirate On Black Violence As The Voices Focus On "The Death Penalty" and "Mass Incarceration" - External Indictments Against Antagonistic Forces
The street formerly named 'Ashby Street" after the Confederate General and is now named "Rev Joseph E Lowery Blvd" encases a strip of land that is the most deadly piece of real estate for Black people in Atlanta. If you run the length of Lowery Blvd and encapsulate two blocks on each side to the east and west you will find a significant number of assaults and murders of Black people today.  A few years ago the corner of "Joseph E Lowery Blvd and Joseph E Boone" was labeled "The Most Deadly Intersection In Atlanta" in reference to the number of violent assaults that had been committed in this location.

Last year Rev Lowery lead a "Street Sweeping" service project on the road named after him with the hopes that by giving kids something to do they would be less prone toward mischief.  It is clear that the people who do show up to these type of projects are not the problem.  Rev Lowery needs to field a scheme that can deal with people who "Don't Give A What".

It seems that Lowery's promise of crime reduction by removing "Confederate Oppressors" and replacing them with "Black Heroes" has FAILED.  There is a need for a more comprehensive and introspective strategy.

With so many Black news analysts prone to agree with the claims of Lowery - they fail to keep an eye on all of the other THREATS that strike against us but would cause some "ingrown toe nails" to be stepped upon as we get to the root of the problem.
