As Atlanta's Civil Rights Pharisees Take A Delta Air Lines Charter Plane To Washington DC........A Man Is Fatally Shot On MLK Blvd Positing Another "Telephone Pole Memorial" At The Location Of The "Civil Rights Violation That Won't Be Called As Such"

When I tell you that in Atlanta the most deadly streets for Black people are the streets which are named after "Civil Rights Heroes".  Most of these streets were renamed in the context of the drive lead by Rev Joseph Lowery which argued that by removing the names of our "oppressors" from the street signs - those named after Confederate Generals - and replacing them with "Our Heroes from the Civil Rights Movement" that the Black people in the community will have their spirits lifted as THEY are represented on the signs.  In the context of this pride..................the violence will be mitigated.

I have no control over what the various "Civil Rights Pharisees" argue as they SELL Black people on their latest bright idea.

I have no control over what the balance of the Black community will accept as a credible way forward as they invest their "Black Community Development Consciousness" into this plan.

The only thing that I can do as - one Black man - is to MEASURE the EFFECTIVENESS of this bill of goods that we were sold with the hopes that the Black Rank & File will provide more management guidance to all who make such promises as he drive for more effective outcomes.
My main peeve is that the main people who are seen patting themselves on the backs for having "saved Black people from violent, racist attacks" are also the very people who are incompetent and/or neutralized in addressing the clear problem with violence WITHIN the Black community.

Recall that on "MLK Day 2011" as the Civil Rights Pharisees marched downtown on Peachtree Street - a Black man was shot on "MLK Drive" at a shooting at a convenience store.  At that time I noted that had the march been held "in da hood" they would have seen the police tape still strung up.
This time there is yet another murder on "Rev Dr Martin Luther King Jr Drive" in Atlanta just as the name of Dr King is held up by his modern day "Keepers Of The Flame".  They honor the man and proclaim to carry forth his message into the nation that still requires change.

They are unable to accept the fact that in today's world things are very different than when King battled mayors and police chiefs and state governments who "could not guarantee the safety of Black people".

This time we have a situation where the "Equal Black Ballot" has been invested and has placed "favorable people" into the seats of power that King used to fight against.

When I tell you that their present focus on banning the death penalty is merely a ruse as they focus on "congregational unity" by promoting an external indictment this recent murder on MLK Dr merely drives my point home.  They know that it is far easier to struggle against an external entity with 4 brick walls to protest against then it is to show their relevancy and effectiveness by producing the necessary changes both WITHIN the Black community and more importantly WITHIN the Black Consciousness within the community.

Unfortunately the Black Community's rank & file is complicit because those who suffer the most are also willing to walk along without demanding a resort of the priorities that more clearly match the primary threats that they face in their community.

Atlanta police were investigating a fatal shooting in broad daylight Saturday on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
The shooting occurred after 5 p.m. after two men walking down the street got into a fight, homicide Det. Paul Gerucchi told Channel 2 Action News. One of the men pulled a gun and fatally shot the other man.
Police did not have anyone in custody, but were talking to witnesses.
