Based on my research this is Dr Mark Hanly, pathologist from Brunswick GA who was born in Central Africa. Who brought awareness of the great potential of "olive oil" as a potentially lucrative new crop in Georgia. Who connective with some friends within the $68.8 billion agricultural industry in Georgia, tipping them off to a great opportunity to develop a brand new crop and industry in the state. A great opportunity that others have missed.
The choice to enter into a cash crop that is presently sold at a premium is a smart move. As your production scales but your brand has not yet reached that of more established players (especially the Italian imports) your commodity product still sells at a unit price that is above that of the more plentiful alternatives (peanut, soybean [usually sold as vegetable], canola and corn).
The Reason For This Post
The subject of "demand for labor", agriculture, "food deserts", "prison farm labor" and unemployment has been swirling all about the political discourse.
As I conduct my longitudinal study about "What Makes The Black Community Political Discourse Tick? ......And How To Reroute It To More Effective DIRECTED OUTCOMES" the patterns at work become very obvious after careful study.
Those who have the most influence upon the Black Community Consciousness benefit as they do transactional indictments that too often disambiguate the Black community's conscious attention away from the underlying drive for:
- Thriving Local Economies
- Quality Education
- Safe Streets
- Healthy Lifestyle And Health Outcomes
The power to keep our people "congregationally united" in defense against some "racial threat" is a more powerful force than is the one which prompts our people to demand a halt to the march forward as we dare ask for EARNEST MONEY at various check points rather than walking along the confidence scheme, waiting for "the big pay back" that is promised at the end of the rainbow.
This rainbow turns out to be an infinite "slave manacle".
The greatest indictment against the confidence that the Black rank & file should have in their ability to field a comprehensive plan to uplift our people is NOT in WHAT THEY ARE HEARD SAYING.
Instead the indictment is within those who know the DIMENSIONS OF A PROSPEROUS PEOPLE a then listen to their words and thus understand how MISALIGNED their words are in relation to such a people.
They can be heard today warning Black people that if we are not careful we might find ourselves locked up first in "police handcuffs" and then in the leg manacles of prison farm labor. Even though you are prone to hear many conversations which start out with:
- "What we NEED to do as a people......."
- "I love Black people and would do anything for my people................"
- "I would put on gasoline drawers and run through hell for my people............."
..........Just as a young woman is forced to learn to not answer the phone during a "11:30pm booty call" - the Black Community is in the process of learning the quality of the vacuous words of the "Embedded Confidence Man". He sounds good.
He gives you attention when others are ignoring you.
He knows what to say to tap into your emotions.
At the end of it all - if you dare look for the words that speak of ORGANIC PRODUCTIVITY - in which our ABUNDANT, UNDER-DEPLOYED PEOPLE are given a way in which they can participate in their OWN SALVATION - their words are like a "Mail Order Jesus" - promising salvation to the first 5000 callers who come with money in hand.
I put this news below into a grid, showing my personal research.
Why did I hear this news on a "farm industry trade program" that is readily available on everyone's cable line up but the only thing we hear about Blacks in Agriculture is the long awaited "Big Pay Back" from the Black Farmers Association based on alleged discrimination?
If an when the "pay master" is taken away to indict for RACISM -- there will STILL be racism and other discrimination for Black farmers to suffer from. If this same entity is taken away - the present Black Community will suffer from the massive lack of ORGANIC productivity in our ability to feed ourselves and/or have items to be marketed - based on the COMMUNITY UPLIFT that has transpired during the time we were starters in the "Malcolm X Political Football Game".
