“Take Back The Black Community Consciousness". It has been hijacked by embedded operatives who don't intend to develop the COMPETENCIES within. We once controlled this consciousness, focusing our activism directly upon our permanent interests. Today the "Malcolm X Political Football Game" has us as starters and some believe that this playing time translates into absolute progress for our people. My goal is to hold our permanent interests in their faces, forcing them to explain their actions.

Southside Of Metro-Atlanta Suffers Two Economic Blows - Lowes & Sears
Every walk behind lawn mower that I have ever purchased has come from the Sears in Union City. I realized that this location was struggling. When ever possible I tried to direct my major purchases there instead of elsewhere.
Put a fork in Shannon Mall/Union Station Mall. It is done.
With "Camp Creek Marketplace" to the north and the tremendous retail development in Newnan to the south - this place never had a chance to survive in the long run. Its customer base was taken away from it.
The Lowe's in Riverdale could not have been opened for more than 4 or 5 years. They took a gamble in building a new facility right after their arch rival Home Depot had come to town. What was already a market that was thinly sliced did not survive the recession.
Both Home Depot and Lowes survive off of a growing housing market. The relocation to a new home translates into frequent visits into the home improvement super center. With so many houses on the market in the immediate area of Clayton County - the store did not meet the revenue targets that Lowes had established. I purchased carpeting from this location instead of the Lowe's in the city where I live - just to spread my business around.
In the cases of Sears and Lowes - the southside now has two large, empty buildings that will no doubt sit vacant for a long while, begging for occupancy. (In the case of Shannon Mall - the entire mall is empty).
