If The Congressional Black Caucus Had Run The Hurricane Katrina Rescue Efforts - The Black Press Would Have Reported On The Rescue ATTEMPTS Rather Than The Results

The Root.com: Black Caucus Wants to Get You a Job (And We Want To Help Them Help You)

(Note: If you ever wondered "Why" I have the disposition that I do - it is because I see that the FIX IS IN.  For me to go along, pretending that certain embedded forces are going to change IF I just "play nice" I could reasonably be called a complicit operative per my silence.  When there is a "You Lost But We Still WON" scheme that dominates our community - it is our community that must be held accountable for failing to establish a more transparent governing order - preventing the "Embedded Confidence Men" from doing their mischief within our "Community Consciousness Nucleus.)

The Legacy Of The Black Press

At its founding the goal of the "Black Press" was to get the news and information that was relevant to the Black community out to the masses.  At the time the "mainstream press" was known to slander Black people when they did report on us or ignore vital events within the community because their voice was focused upon the perspective of the White community.  The original "wire service" for the Black press was the lone Black reporter who was charged with visiting the hostile areas in the South and sending dispatches back to the paper, where ever they might be and by whatever means that they could.   In short - the "Black Press" served a vital function in the development of our community over time.  Its perspective was indeed in the "Best Interests Of The Black Community", countering the countervailing winds in the support of our community.

Somewhere along the way a good portion of the "Black Press" began to alter their original mandate.  Indeed the first round of Black elected officials did not get a fair shake in the mainstream press.  The Black press provided them with a platform to get their message out without the slander.   As I analyze the relationship between the press and the elected officials who represent the Black community - this "platform" relationship has turned into COMPLICITY.

If we take away the TIME LINE and instead look at the transactional struggle faced by a group such as the "Congressional Black Caucus" their present struggle to get a federal legislative "jobs bill" passed for the benefit of those who are unemployed would be considered "good works at a time of crisis".  Naturally the disposition of the Black press would be to being to investigate why and who is blocking the passage of this beneficial legislation.

Unfortunately the TIME LINE is an inescapable.  Today the Black community is living in the "mission accomplished" state which the array of "favorable elected officials" who got to power based on the promises of benefit have received the investment of the "Equal Black Ballot" which brought them into power.   To place the appraisal of the effectiveness of the CBC and the array of politicians at lower rungs of government upon their present jobs legislation but fail to give additional context is evidence of MARKETING for the benefit of the CBC rather than the interests of the Black Community.

Over the past 3 years I have read more articles and blog posts openly demanding from the Republican House leadership "Where Are The Jobs?".   These same people were not hear asking the very same question - not just of the Democrats that controlled the White House, US Senate and US House - but the cascading legislative and executive entities at every rung where Black people live in our highest concentrations.

It is quite disturbing to see the mindset where:
  • Your "friend" is assumed to be your advocate so you join his struggle, his loss is your loss
  • Your "adversary" is assumed to be your road block, so you blame the short coming of yourself and your friend on him
Not only has the "Black Community Consciousness" been fused with the actions in the "American Political Domain" the Black Press - the institution that is the last hope for TRANSPARENT and INDEPENDENT analysis of that which is put forth as the methodology that will express "Black Permanent Interests"  is scrutinized.   When the press is merely an agent of the MACHINE - we are sure to see "machine marketing" as the main product of this press.    Sadly this is the prevailing orientation of a large portion of these organizations and individuals who are spread throughout mainstream news organization.

I am NOT arguing that more "Black Conservatives" be inserted for "balance".   The thought that a partisan like Michael Steele now has a column on "The Root.com" merely means that they have slightly diversified their biased viewpoint.

What IS necessary is a foundation upon which all of them report from (including bloggers who take themselves seriously).
Absent a certain discipline to the defined "Permanent Interests" of the Black Community as their guide - the product of the Black Press will be mere propaganda for the benefit of the entrenched ideology and political machine that they favor.   If you ever wonder how the "good news" of these elected officials can be produced as the Black community experiences erosion - look no further than the perceived purpose of the Black Press operatives.

Having bought into the METHODOLOGY that the "favorable politician" is promoting and noting the shortcomings - the Black Press operative will go looking at the OPPOSITION, doing exposes' on why they stand against the legislation and what are THEY proposing as a solution.   What appears to be a rational disposition - asking someone to "hit or get off of the pot" becomes more clear when the favored ideology is isolated on its own.   As the "indict your enemy" strategy leads to increased POWER over a given city and region the prevailing policy of that region MUST be inspected for its ability to:
  • Produce Jobs
  • Produce Quality Education
  • Produce Safe Streets
  • Produce Healthy Relationships
Unfortunately - as the Black Press is faced with doing a transparent inspection over the "Mission Accomplished Zones" where this bundle of policy theories are in place - they choose to go along with the shifted political sentiment as it SCALES UP - to find a bigger body of water to "boil".   Instead of having taken over and being called on the lack of ORGANIC DEVELOPMENT that is safely in the hands of its ideological and political allies they go along with the INDICTMENT against the larger body of government (the state or the federal government) for failing to provide "Social Justice" to those who have been marginalized by the larger society.

In this confidence game - the Black Press has chosen to retain its ideological proclivities over the choice to be the voice of necessary reforms in which pressure is applied on their "Permanent Friends" in an effort to work for the best interests of the community.

It stands to reason that if these same forces have been heard debating out loud about the practicality of "attacking Obama" over his policies - providing an opening to the Tea Party Republican Enemy - that the Black Press operatives apply this very same theory when it comes to interviewing other "Favorable Black Progressive Democrats" in lower rungs in the government.  A person heard noting that "there are no Blacks (Progressive Democrats) in the US Senate and that we are under-represented in the US House per our population percentage is ultimately tipping his hand on his real agenda.  They see "Black Power" in the form of "favorable head count" in a specific legislative or executive body.  These machine members placement to effectively push the IDEOLOGY is ultimately more valuable than the Black Press "going against them" as it dares to hold up a TIME LINE and forces the said politician or machine to PROVE itself worthy.

What is described above is the genetic architecture of how places like Detroit or Cleveland can experience massive economic and academic decline to the detriment of the Black community and yet the machine that dominates these cities or regions not suffer any injury from the Black voter.  The erosion is marketed as a result of fancy progressive terms like:
  • Corporate Abandonment
  • Attacks On Union Labor
  • Attacks On Public Schools
The costs to the Black community in buying into these nations is that as the prevailing ideology is retained - ("THEY can't choose OUR leaders for us")......... the violations of our Permanent Interests as expressed in the degraded position must be BORNE BY THE BLACK COMMUNITY - as this is what the array of our choices and governance preferences.
