Black Folks, Gasoline Prices And President Obama

(This is a true story folks)

This morning I went out intending to purchase gasoline for my truck and groceries per the demands of my kids.  I went to purchase the gas first.

I had to go inside of the store to purchase a newspaper and something that my daughter had asked me to get her.

The store clerk was a Black male.  He asked me "Can I help you find something?"
"No I see what I am looking for right here"
"Take your time looking", he said.
"Oh I have plenty of time.  I have to wait until that monster truck fills up with that expensive gasoline that you all are making all of that money on."  I said jokingly.

"Liquid motion."
"And I don't think that it is going to go down in price any time soon" I said.

"I am a real estate broker.  Things got kinda tight so I have to work this job to make ends meet".  (He told me about some medical issues with his wife that I won't repeat here.)

"It is interesting how many people come into the store complaining about the price of gas and then BLAMING PRESIDENT OBAMA for the price.   You know I can't get it out of my mind that they are racist and want to blame the Black president for the gas prices.  HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE PRICES.

"Yet the last president had the prices go up far past $4 per gallon and they probably didn't say a world"  he said.
(Really????)

"They want to put so many road blocks in front of this president because he is BLACK that it gets sickening to see it" he said.
(Really????  Are you sure that its not just that, unlike the other president, you are ATTACHED to this president, living vicariously through his experiences?)

I have learned over my corporate career that when it comes to Black folks and our "Pity Parties" - don't add fuel to the fire, where I go out of my way to tell them about the White lady who is the low man on the totem pole who insulted me, dragging me down to the rank of "mere Negro".   Instead I LISTEN and then take in THEIR experiences and apply it to my own.   More often than not that "Racist White woman" is a "bitch" to everyone.  They just accepted it as racism against themselves.

I am convinced that for many of you you can't see the strategic flaw in what you are doing.
President Obama offers the best chance to do things that Black people would have otherwise ATTACKED (start a war, run up the debt, fail to use federal regulatory powers to reign in the local operatives that producing squandered academic and economic results).

ALL OF THIS for no other reason than (in equal proportion)

• He Is Black
• He Is An Ideological Progressive
• He Is A Within The Favored Political Party Machine

 We are fortunate to have a time period by which we can witness the sentiments that have transpired as we have gone from an "Evil President" to a "Good Guy President" - to which so many of our DREAMS have been fused and propagandized toward per the handi-work of the biased operatives who lurk within our community.

 The best means of appraisal is to take your focus off of the WHITE HOUSE and instead look at the PEOPLE.   We see the results that are quite similar from the GOVERNMENT but a stunningly different set of outcomes from the Rank & File.  (On both sides).

Still HYPOCRISY shopping is irrelevant.  It is merely an indictment.
It is far more important for us to look at the common denominator - REALITIES THAT HAVE FALLEN SHORT OF EXPECTATIONS.
This should be the biggest indictment.

For me as an observer of all of this, however, the biggest indictment must go to the Rank & File.
While we can expect politicians to act as they do - when the PEOPLE fail to erect a wall of protection from their CORE CONSCIOUSNESS - we are forced to promote them as the INDICTABLE FIGURES.  They are complicit in their own usurpation.

They mistake their deployment on the "Political Team" for material ADVANCEMENT of their own interests. As long as they all agree to avoid a transparent accounting - they can apply the "Fist Bumps" of  "congregational complicity" and eek out a bit of mental contentment about themselves.

In this "Bigotry Cube" - President Obama makes the perfect figure because he is at the maximum end of the X, Y, and Z axis.

Sadly people can't distinguish between what fits most comfortably per their own BIAS and how all of this correlates to the REAL WORLD around them.
