This is the latest episode of my continuing quest to document the COST of the present hijacked consciousness within the Black community and how it ultimately impacts our ability mitigate the problems within.
Simply put - there are some people who must not be entrusted with the power to set YOUR PRIORITY LIST.
Absent your own accurate model of the world - including the problems that require hand on management - you are prone to "drink in" what you are fed.
Managing your own model of the world as built up from receipt of information from a variety of sources - you are then empowered to detect bias (and bigotry) from certain sources as evidenced by how much what THEY PRIORITIZE is so out of proportion of the stack ranking of KEY PROBLEMS WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
I strongly suggest that your consumption from these particular information sources be made PROPORTIONAL to their credibility. When you afford them an undue amount of your consciousness - your consciousness about the world will be similarly distorted.
Should they stop what they are doing? NO. NO. Please. Continue on. The best support for my argument - my best research for my continuing project comes from THEM.
The more that I can step out of the way and........."allow the video of them to play".......the better it is for my argument.
My only demand is that the next time that they come to YOU proclaiming some credibility in their ability to LEAD our community forward - you pull out the video tape which I provided to you.
A White Man In Alabama Warns Black Male High School Athletes To Stay Away From His Daughter.
The news of the IGNORANT actions of this one White man were POWERFUL enough to gain coverage on the following "Black blogs"

While the "roof is on fire" WITHIN the Black community regarding the fundamental building block of our community - the relationships between our males and females who are the primary incubators of OUR PROGENY - it is rather disheartening to know that ONE IGNORANT WHITE MAN - anywhere in the nation - has the POWER to trigger such a (predictable and) systematic response through the rungs of information portals that PURPORT to be primarily focused on the development of the Black community as their priority.
This Father In Florida Threatened "Street Pirates In Training" For Picking On His Daughter
I support his efforts to defend his daughter against bullies.
Of course this differs from the events in Alabama IF the only motivations for the father's outrage was due to the race of the males seeking his daughter's attention.
Keep in mind, however, that there are plenty of Black females who are frustrated with the number of Black males who opt for non-Black mates. While they have not issued threats of physical harm to Black men who date "White girls" they "understand" the sentiment of anger that it provokes in some. :-/

I still don't see any indication that the father in Alabama would have handled things any differently if his daughter had been flirting in texts with a white athlete. I've known plenty of fathers who would blow up at any unsupervised male contact with their daughters.
The key question is - Would the words of THREAT projected by this WHITE MAN be advertised on so many "Black Community Development" web sites IF he said them to a WHITE KID?
About 3 months ago a Black father in metro-Atlanta got onto a school bus and told the "Street Pirates In Training" that were harassing his daughter that he was going to beat them down if they continued.
