"Opinion Polls" are merely "Popularity Polls".
When certain questions are asked and they have ultimately no CONSEQUENCE upon the respondent's position in life - neither the response given nor the political analysis that results from published survey results matter.

In the case of the news presented by MSNBC this morning that "41% of Republicans asked say that they believe that 'Obama is a Muslim' "  you should put this into the filing cabinet per my description above.    There is no COST to them to ignore all of the contextual facts that say otherwise.   Their goal is to slander a political figure that they disagree with and thus by rendering this answer they are able to tweak him.

Those who take in these results and then use them to project certain attributes upon the respondents are also guilty of perpetuating this game. 

Among those who support Obama the quick claim of "RACISM" as the primary motivating factor for the hatred that is shown against Obama is in kind.   Despite the fact that in 2011 - our people have our "Civil Rights" molested on more occasions by actions that are NOT classifiable as "Racist" the charge of RACISM and the subsequent "superiorization" of these threats to Black people - is merely done for the purposes of "Ideological Unity Enforcement".  When there is a 'siege mentality' those with the megaphone in hand, leading the troops are allowed to escape most accountability for their failures that the people suffer.   Sadly the report from Essence Magazine in which "Obama's education policies" got an "A" from its readers - shows that they too are less interested in identifying the COST that their children suffer from the public education system as they are in "saving face" on behalf of the president.  Few people will disagree when I say that their children are NOT receiving an " 'A' level of quality in the public schools that they attend".   Throw the results away for their measure popularity.  This popularity merely purchases the "forbearance" from criticism that the local agents deserve (including the parents).

Sadly there is a symbiotic relationship between the IGNORANT who perpetually battle.  Their skin color and ideological differences are mere proxies for them to channel their ignorance.

The main offense is that they don't have structured solutions to systematically address the problems that plague their respective communities.
