Racial Conflict In The All Democratic Chicago Mayor's Race - Why The (Evil, Racist) GOP Is A Necessary Force Of "Black Unity"

Mary Mitchell - Braun and Watkins exchange exposes African-American fault line

I disagree with columnist Mary Mitchell's assignment of a "fault line" in the context of the recent dust up in the debate between Carol Moseley Braun and Patricia Van Pelt-Watkins.

She identifies a CLASS conflict between poor and middle class Blacks as the basis for their "circular fire" among Black candidates. In doing so she inserts these takeaways into her story:

  1. In a community fractured by class differences, it is nearly impossible for voters to unite behind a single black mayoral candidate.
  2. Despite being anointed the “consensus” candidate, Braun hasn’t been able to raise any real money — not even with the backing of influential black supporters in the business community.
  3. But while Braun may have the backing of professional blacks, she desperately needs the support of the brothers and sisters on the street. Unfortunately, her harsh comments about Watkins may have done her campaign some real harm in the ’hood.
  4. Her ugly words revealed a bitter divide that exists between those blacks who are members of the middle class and those who are mired in the muck of poverty.
  5. This clash between the politician from Hyde Park and the activist from Garfield Park gives others a stark look at how disconnected black people can be absent a common goal.
  6.  a group of Braun’s supporters — including U.S. Representatives Bobby Rush and Danny Davis — were asking the Chicago Police to provide Braun police protection.
  7. Paid provocateurs” allegedly “screamed and shoved” Braun when she arrived at the historic Greater Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church for a forum on Sunday, according to Renee Ferguson, the spokeswoman for Braun’s campaign. “It has been going on for a while, and it is very serious,” Ferguson told me. “It is being done to confuse us and splinter our vote.”
  8. Instead of joining forces to keep Emanuel from gaining the mayoral office without a runoff, these two black candidates are battling each other. Ironically, while these black women disrespected the work each of them has done to uplift the community — in an effort to get the black vote — the front-runner didn’t even bother to show up to answer questions.
  9. With the assistance of wealthy friends, he has been able to get his message out without suffering the indignity of dealing with people who have no intention of voting for him.

Long story short:  The CLASS fault line is NOT the problem WITHIN the Black community.  It is ONLY a problem in the DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY!!!
The late political scientist Dr Ronald Walters warned us about the dangers of "splintering the Black vote".  He was clearly talking about the splinter on November 4th and NOT the spring occasion of Democratic Party voting.

The real FAULT which was glossed over by Ms Mitchell is that the "Black Community Development Agenda" has been totally FUSED into "Electoral Politics" and it is the Democratic Party that smiles like the Cheshire Cat as it looks upon the fray.

The article notates that both Braun and Watkins have a track record for "Black community uplift" it dared not put an index upon this "check list" claim.    We can also conclude that the federal helicopters sent to rescue stranded Black people in the Post-Katrina flooding "UPLIFTED BLACK PEOPLE".  In this case the Black journalists dared to put dimensions of:

  • TIMELINESS OF THE ACTION
  • PROPORTIONALITY OF THE RESCUE IN RELATION TO THE NEED
In this case, it appears, that the "Favorable Public Relations" provided by these and other Black Establishment figures in Chicago are enough to purchase the silence of the Black Press operatives who provide them with cover.

With so much emphasis on RACE in the Chicago mayor's race - all pretenses of "voting for the best candidate and not his/her race" that were erected in 2008 have been thrown out of the window.   IF Ralm Emanuel got 25% of the Black vote these same speakers from 2008 would protest that "We should have listened to Dr Ronald Walters".

The common denominator to this story in Chicago and the newly minted indictments about the lack of "diversity" in the governing bodies of Ohio and now of Alabama is  the Democratic Party loyal political operatives who are embedded into the cranial matter of the Black community seek secondary RECOURSE for representation when the UNIFIED BLACK VOTE scheme that they have orchestrated has failed.   The second weapon called "The Diversity Indictment" is pulled out for use against those they ran against with collusion.

The Need To Separate "Black Community Consciousness" From State

Ms Mitchell hit the ball out of the park with her words ".......absent a common goal........".   She would have been more complete to append the words "............those who know Black people well will PROVOKE ONE via their expert engineering methods".

Sadly when these "common goals" translate into the goals of the Democratic Party and Progressive Ideological Theory - the small minority is loathed to ask QUESTIONS about WHO is the ultimate beneficiary of the strategy or demand that the progress made thus far be enumerated before they take any more steps.  It is THEY who will become the victims of the "Ideological Unification Enforcement' actions.

How does a Chicagoan who sees the singular machine that dominates every aspect of his city and then bears the brunt of the cost - affirmatively respond to the calls from the establishment leader to give it "one more push" - for "your future will brighten because the FAVORABLE PORTRAIT UPON THE WALL " will now have LED backlighting - the technology borrowed from the flat screen televisions to make the colors appear more radiant.

The new style of portraits in City Hall also have a hidden picture frame.   When the matrix of "favorable portraits" are placed together - the individual pictures appear as one singular image of that which the Black community has supported over their community's interests.

This election is not about race, or about who the candidate's buddy is, it's about who has the best experience.

Gery Chico's municipal budget experience combined with other city leadership position makes him the best candidate.

When you vote, please do your research and remember that Rahm is 'not' Obama. If safety, education, low taxes, and a balanced city budget are important issues to you, then Chico is who you should vote for.

Chuck:

I am not a resident of Chicago.
I really don't care who wins the election.

My analysis is focused on the ANTICS of the 'Black Political Establishment Machine' in the city.

In this city which should provide clear evidence to everyone what a "Mission Accomplished" environment looks in regards to the FORTUNES OF BLACK PEOPLE who went along Chicago TODAY is "an environment that represents the fortunes of Black people who went along"!!!!

Sadly nothing more than the HOPES for more "color" in city hall is enough to rile the troops up once again.

MY ONLY goal is to have the rank and file to rise up and REPUDIATE what they have conspired in and then to purge the leadership voices who showed great pleasure in the alignment.
