Dr King face a similar point of reconciliation as his desire to support President Lyndon B. Johnson's "Great Society Program" could not surmount his conscious knowledge that Johnson's warmongering in Vietnam was a more important threat to his sensibilities. Though these programs offered the possibility for the redress of many of the economic challenges that Dr King had championed in his later years - he was compelled to ultimately go against the joint-venture partner who had offered these economic development programs.
Those who honor Dr King today respect this as evidence of his "spiritual yolk" - a compass setting that made him "un-bought and unsold".
Dr King The "Civil Rights Activist" / Dr King The "Economic Development Theorist"
In my analysis - the economic agenda as set forth by King and his lieutenants today fail to obtain maximum effectiveness because as follows:
As they have mastered the power of the INDICTMENT (in consideration of a moral highpoint) to compel ETERNAL entities to change their ways - when it comes time to turning inward and compel the Black community to keep our "Eye On The Prize", repeating and enforcing a set of thoughts and practices that fortify our ORGANIC abilities - it is the Black Establishment leadership's past failure to build up and govern the "logistical institutions" necessary to carry out this agenda which proves most damning. Their previous choices to exploit the "external battles" in the "American Political Domain" in pursuit of power aggregation proves to be the main weakness in areas where POLITICS is not the central adversary. They will make it a "Political Problem" in that "everything looks like a nail to those who now own a pneumatic hammer".
Like El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, Dr King was a "transformative figure" who went through a personal metamorphosis. At the end of their "bullet shortened" lives nether man held the same views as they did when they first entered onto the national stage.
Those Who Operate In The Name Of "Dr King" Today
Today as an adult Black male with my own consciousness - I exert my right to make an analsys of the world that I live in and respond to the prevailing conditions that I see as problematic.
- Just as El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz did in relation to the "Nation Of Islam"
- Just as Rev Dr Martin Luther King did in relation to the Johnson Administration
The NAACP award given posthumously to Senator Ted Kennedy was not an aberration. It was evidence of THEIR alignment with his theories.
The words said by the late Coretta Scott King and Martin Luther King III in various local radio interviews and forums that I have attended in which they called for "guaranteed income" or "guaranteed employment" is not a usurpation of her husband's or father's views - THEY ARE his views.
The "United For A Fair Economy" report that I have read from end to end over the past few days which is laced with references to "Dr King" as they take his mantel - is not a THEFT of his views. They implement his views - in the form of enlisting BLACK PEOPLE to carry on the question of "Black Community Development" and "Racial Economic Parity".................by fighting against the Republican Party - as they attempt to cut government programs. They point to the PROGRAMS that have lifted up Black people. There is not one reference to the ORGANIC COMPETENCIES that have been built up in our community in which our new found productivity and proficiency is used to FUND our own "racial equality". More importantly - it standing as EVIDENCE of it.
I am forced to remain intellectually and ideologically honest and say that they have FIDELITY with "Dr King's ECONOMIC viewpoint" and this I am forced to come out AGAINST "Dr King - the Economic Theorist".
Our community will experience no sustained uplift by pursing that which Dr King, his surviving lieutenants or - with all due respect - the "Snarling White Liberal" joint-venture partners that the Black Establishment has contracted with.
I Will Never Disrespect Dr King - But I Will Not Lock Myself In To His Theories
The sight of Black people making use of "King Day 2011" to protest outside of a school that dared to open on that day - after 5 snow days prior in which the name "Dr King" was not mentioned in the house - showed me today that the "angry crowd outside of the school" has morphed.
The sight of a crowd in South Carolina marching on the state capitol, demanding that a Confederate flag be removed off of the public grounds yet they are silent about the "Confederate OUTCOMES" that transpire in their own communities showed me how the image and dignity of King is now used as a weapon.
The sight of Black people expressing fear that by having their own Black kids having to go to a neighborhood school FULL OF SELF-REFLECTING MIRRORS- as they referenced "Dr King" but could not find the modern day Bilbo, Barnett, Wallace or Russell as the counter-force. The contents of the opposite pan in the balance scale is - THEIR OWN CONSCIOUSNESS that promotes "Non-White White Supremacy".
As I listened to "Democratic Preacher" Rev Al Sharpton stand on the steps of the "Dunbar High School" in Washington DC and proclaim that our struggle is in pursuit of "QUALITY EDUCATION" - I was hoping that the ghost of the great Anna J Cooper would appear out of the school building that she once ran and rap him on the knuckles with the stack of rulers that she carried. She MANAGED the state of "Quality Education" into fruition in that same edifice where Sharpton stood on that August day - proclaiming that he stood for "Dr King" and that the neo-Klan forces have a television news broadcast network. One that he occasionally appears on - no evidence of a lynching attempt.
The ONLY thing that I can say as my saving grace which distinguishes Dr King from his modern day lieutenants is that while he was present on this earth there was indeed an "Organic Black Community Development Program". At the time its prevailing mission was to stop our people from being assaulted from outside attackers. Today - the main consequence of INTEGRATION has little to do with the ability for Black people to live PHYSICALLY away from a plot of land that we are forced into. Instead the key COST of INTEGRATION is that the "Black Community Consciousness Agenda" is now merely an appendage of the AMERICAN POLITICAL DOMAIN.
Those who wish to either "suppress debate" or "escape accountability for the results after their theories have been implemented" make heavy reference to DR KING as their. In as much as Dr King is unassailable (lest you are a racist and/or an Uncle Tom) the primary function is that those who make use of this tactic receive cover.
For me - the greatest evidence of "an enemy of Black people" is attributable to those who see the conditions that are mounting AND who see the complicity of the establishment forces that preside over the conditions - yet remain SILENT - in reverence to "Dr King".
Thus the biggest ASSAULT upon Dr King that can be produced TODAY is to fail to acknowledge his humanity and the need to update his economic theories - as they have failed to produce the necessary ORGANIC COMPETENCIES.
The "MLK Jr. INorganic Black Community Economic Development Agenda"
I coined the term "Justice Thurgood Marshall Justice" as a means of delineating the great works done as he was the "Lead Council for the NAACP" - fighting to correct an unjust system AND his role as an "Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court". The key flaw (in my opinion) of Justice Thurgood Marshall - is that in his quest to seek justice for the "criminally convicted" he "PUT THE SYSTEM ON TRIAL - making the CRIMINAL ASSAILANT into a VICTIM of the SYSTEM". As the passions of the Black community were satisfied per this disposition - the "10 guilty men who were let free" were unappreciative and they continued their attack upon the Black community (and others). Today our community suffers from the after-effects of jurisprudence.
The "MLK Jr INorganic Black Community Economic Development Agenda" shows its fact in this video (see the 2 minute 40 second mark)
How does one logically reject the assessment of an 8th grade Black girl who assumes that by marrying her mate she will lose her "child care benefits" when the primary indictment of the "INorganic Economic Policies" that I am calling out makes use of GOVERNMENT PROGRAMS that are fed through INCOME TAX REDISTRIBUTION as the main pillars for the uplift of Black America? This young Black female is restating the consciousness that was inculcated into her by the prevailing establishment that now dominates our community.
I cannot look upon this damage while showing reverence to the common "founding father" that those who enforce this destructive theory upon our community uplift hopes make use of.
Those who are "Anti-Black" are the ones who sheepishly follow along in abundance - despite the evidence.
