We receive a steady stream of information every day. The challenge is in assembling it all together and doing the proper analysis.
Today we learned that a Federal judge in Alabama has questioned the value of Section V of the Voting Rights Act, wondering if claims of discrimination from 50 years ago are applicable to the regulatory overlay today. Without surprise the "usual suspects" fought back, the Civil Rights Industrial Complex told of the need to "keep the Neo-CCC felons" on probation long after they have served their time. They must report to their probation officer in the US Justice Department to get permission for their every move.

I assure you that as this news turns into an actual threat to the Voting Rights Act - we will be told that this is what "Take Back Our Country" looks like. (This phrase was said the other day on "Fight The Power" radio as the Atlanta Public Schools were put on probation.).
Few of these same people will bother to present the recent news from the 2010 US Census which told of a change in residential and migration patterns for African Americans. The reports that I have heard are that BLACK POLITICIANS are the ones that are at risk - not the Black rank & file. Those politicians who are in power due to the power of the state of the art "Geographic Information Systems". GIS is used to identify where Black people live and to use this geospacial information to draw a congressional district that provides a Black candidate with enough of a cushion (60% Black district) to ensure a victory.
The main threat to this process has been that Black people are migrating out of these districts that are mainly found in "Mission Accomplished Cities", exiting in pursuit of OPPORTUNITY. Ironic is the fact that we are told about the DENIAL of opportunity to Black people as proof of continuing racism. This subject risks promoting the notion that if Black people actually seek out OPPORTUNITY but it causes the Black Political Establishment some angst because our "Black bodies" are not congregated with enough concentration to be used for their purposes - this is a problem as well.

My assessment is that when we focus more on the METHODOLOGY (getting favorable people into office) that is purported to bring opportunity to the Black community while not focusing upon proving this as having worked out to be the case in the real world after deployment - the "Struggle" milieu is perpetuated yet a course correction is nowhere to be found.
I presently live in a "second ring city" around metro-Atlanta. The success of the anti-housing discrimination laws has prompted an increasing number of Black people to pursue higher quality public schools and avoid the crime problems associated with high-density urban living. It appears that some people want to have the argument both ways - leverage the present lull in racial attacks to migrate in pursuit of their desired "standard of living" yet retain "Black (Democratic) voting power" by retaining the sanctions from the Voting Rights Act.
When given the free choice the evidence shows that Black people will indeed move toward OPPORTUNITY. Why then are our supposed leaders seeking to keep us gerrymandered into "packed districts"?
The NAACP clearly is attempting to have Black school students sit in the same classrooms as White as a means of improving "Black Education". Since Blacks are allowed to move to anyplace that we can afford in pursuit of access to a public school why are certain busing plans that are retired called a "racist" act?
Clearly all of this is about MAXIMIZATION of one's own political and ideological position using the cover of race. They are loathed to see that some of their policies actually work to the contrary of enumerated "Black Permanent Interests" - thus the migration.
