Federal Budget Watch: How Is Not Spending On War A "Savings"

Please note:
My ultimate agenda in this report is to showcase the folly of having a "Black Development Strategy" that makes use of Federal Government Programs that depend upon financing from the gaping hole that is growing in the Federal budget. Instead we need a more "organic development" strategy as a defense against this nation's eroding economic condition.

THIS AIN'T ABOUT OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From PBS' Nightly Business Report:

The graphic above is a review of the $9 Trillion deficit hole in the federal government budget projections for the next 10 years.  The budget that was released on Monday says that the government will RECOGNIZE SAVINGS by "Winding Down The Wars In Iraq and Afghanistan".

Please understand what they are arguing.
By NOT SPENDING MONEY they are SAVING MONEY - thus reducing the deficit.

Please understand how the federal budget planning process works.
Most times when you hear the claim of a "federal spending cuts" the truth is that they are merely reducing the growth rate from the funding baseline from the previous year.

Thus (and I am making this total up for argument sake) - If in the 2010/2011 budget they had $400 billion allocated to the military operations in Afghanistan and Iraq when they choose to only spend $200 billion in the next budget 2011/2012 - they can claim this to be a "Spending Reduction" for "Budget Trix Purposes".

Again - the Obama Administration did not start this tactic and it won't stop regardless of how it is exposed.  The job of the budget writers is to apply enough smoke and mirrors to make it sound good enough to get it bound into a book for the Congress to have a starting point for debate.

If you all don't see that this aggregate course is UNSUSTAINABLE and yet you continue the "Transactional Political Game" - when the ship sinks you will see that your "We're Number One" foam hand that you used during your political escapades does not work as a  flotation device.
