- "Brick City"
- "The Flintown Kids"
- "The First 48 Hours" - As Shot On In Various Violent Urban Venues
If we dared to assume that what was true during the "Civil Rights Movement" is still true today then an ecosystem in which:
- Violence is rained upon Black people
- Education is derailed for Black children
- Black people are economically ground down
then whatever the location in which these assaults upon the Black Permanent interests is a place that is due for a radical upheaval in the SYSTEM that has dominate control over the place.
If you took this framework and applied it to TODAY then, unfortunately, you'd be mistaken in your attempts to extend this logic forward into a new set of circumstances.
I can't be sure that the person actually watched "Brick City" but - after seeing a person suggest that Newark Mayor Cory Booker deserves the seat of President Of The United States - this person DID NOT "GET" the message from "Brick City".
I am not faulting Mayor Booker. In fact - it is stunning to see that the person who made this comment can't see that POLITICS IS THE NEGATING FACTOR within THE BLACK COMMUNITY.
In Newark where "favorable people" control every seat in the city - absent the traditional ideological enemy - the "favorable people" began to fracture.
All the while - the "Key Performance Objectives" upon which the machine was elected to express upon the community have mostly been missed. Despite the preponderance of evidence and the dysfunctional politicking that comes with it - anyone who believes that POLITICS is the solution to the problems as seen on "Brick City" is a person who must never be given the "confidence" of our community. This is how they will drive us, regardless of how much the direction arrows are pointing contrariwise.
