Black Migration Toward The South Is In Full Swing

AP: In a reversal, more blacks moving back to South
(Stolen From Redding News Review)

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Great Migration, the 60-year escape from segregation and racism that brought American blacks to the North, has reversed course. Better jobs and quality of life in the South are beckoning, as is the lure of something more intangible — a sense of home.
"It's no coincidence that the shift is happening as we encounter economic turmoil that is being felt disproportionately among blacks, such as mortgage foreclosures, loss of jobs and economic devastation in major Northern hubs," said Hilary Shelton, director of the NAACP's Washington bureau. "With major changes and less racial devastation in the South, people are finding their way back."

Some of you believe that I am merely picking on the NAACP.
The truth is THEY SIMPLY DON'T "GET IT".

The words said by the NAACP's Hilary Shelton show BLACK PEOPLE AS "CONSUMERS OF JOBS".
He and his organization are not prepared to ponder TWO THINGS that need to be discussed if TRUTH is our objective:

  1. What is the ability of their PREFERRED POLICIES in RETAINING the favorable market conditions within which "Consumers Of Labor" flourish - Indeed Detroit and Chicago and Buffalo exploded per the abundance of job opportunities that were a part of their economic velocity
  2. What is the ability of their PREFERRED POLICIES in ORGANICALLY CREATING economic activity from which LABOR is a byproduct of?
Though I have yet to write up my formal rebuttal to the INORGANIC plans found in the report from "United For A Fair Economy" I am solemnly convinced that their "central planning model" is a flawed one.   It has us perpetually STRUGGLING yet it ignores the painful results that have been seen where these policies were enacted.

Who Will Tell The Narrative Of The "Mission Accomplished Areas"?

Right in front of their faces is the tale of the "places where they have won".  The photo albums of the "inaugural balls" where a group "Electric Slide" was performed serve as the evidence which can't be repudiated.

Despite this fact few people are willing to refine the prevailing narrative which says: "The backlash that took place against the growth in political power by progressives and minorities triggered the 'Corporate Abandonment' in Northern cities - as these corporations exited these places where 'workers rights' were protected' - outward toward other places where they could EXPLOIT LABOR and POLLUTE THE ENVIRONMENT".

While I did see a story last year which heralded the sighting of the first beaver inside of the Detroit city limits as an indicator of how the place is 'Greening' as a result of the departure of 'man' - their only natural enemy - I am quite sure that if they had the opportunity they'd take their polluting industrial plants and "full employment' instead.

While I SUPPORT "COLLECTIVE BARGAINING" as a means of allowing one employee to become many, leveraging their interests against the "consumer of labor" - it is a BALANCE that is necessary, not a crushing victory for either side.

Too often these "Mission Accomplished Places" added the government in as the tag team match against the "consumer of labor".  After they "WON", the interests of the city and the "rank & file" was lost.

The sad part about it all is that the MACHINE that controls all of these cities has not missed a beat.  Their seats in power are as secure as ever, despite their massive failings.
