The CSPAN Book TV rebroadcast of Chris Hedges' "Death Of The Liberal Class" takes place on C-SPAN Book TV at Sunday 4am Eastern. This program is far more valuable real estate on your Tivo than is the recording of the "Super Bowl".
The man is your ideological friend, however, he is not an "Establishment Progressive" as many of you are. He is an "Unattached Progressive" and thus able to call out though of you who have "sold out" your ideology for the sake of protecting the establishment machine and its quest for power.
Again I ask you to substitute the words "Black Establishment"/"Civil Rights Pharisees" every time he references the Progressive Establishment/Democratic Party Establishment in his speech.
If you do this you will discover yourselves in relation to how you have compromised the pursuit of the "Black Community Permanent Interests".
I am not a Progressive. For me - it is an IN-ORGANIC train of thought. You will never build up a society that can stand on its own for you do not invest in ORGANIC COMPETENCIES but instead define your SOCIAL JUSTICE RIGHTS in the context of the system that you are most critical of. You have no choice but to believe that your "consciousness" provides the laundering effect of the raw materials taken in by our capitalistic system which you are critical of. Thus YOUR consumption of these fruits from the "tree of ill-gotten gains" are not as evil as that which is consumed by your enemy.
I don't need to agree with Hedges desired outcomes to agree that:
- The warning signs of this nation's peril are accurate
- The fellow progressives that he calls out are guilty of that which he charges them with - Co-conspirators in the system. Ultimately you go along with the system with cosmetic changes while insuring that it is perpetuated.
In both cases the failure of you to build up ORGANIC COMPETENCIES in the people that you desire to protect is the primary reason for your vulnerability.
NOTE: With Glenn Beck - I too agree with some of his points of peril but I don't agree with all of the analysis that he makes in stitching it all together.
