The Hijacked Dream - Part IV - The Gap Between "Black Opinion Polls" And "Our View On The Streets"

Reposting: "Brick City" - Reports From The Street

The "All White Jury" from our past was known for its injustice rendered upon our people.  A more dispassionate analysis of them is that in their attempt to RETAIN the status quo and advance the interests of those they favored - the MODEL OF THE WORLD that they constructed and retained required them to suppress their vision of what was occurring on the streets to Black people.

If we take this same framework and apply it to the POLITICAL/IDEOLOGICAL entrenchments seen in many Black Americans - we can form a better understanding of what we see.

You may rebut saying - "I have never murdered a Black man".   True enough - but the vast majority of CCC members can say the same thing about their antics of 1964.   They did not operate the knife - they sat in silent complicity as it made the "surgical incision".

President Barack Obama's Education Policies Receive An "A" From Readers Of Essence Magazine

In the interview with US Agriculture Secretary Arnie Duncan we hear news about the pending renewal of the "Elementary and Secondary Education Act".   You know this as "No Child Left Behind".  Despite all of the rhetoric to the contrary - few people realize that NCLB is STILL IN PLACE!!!

If we view the educational debate strictly from a political standpoint we hear Black people celebrating the "achievements" of the Obama educational plans - mostly pointing to the "Race To The Top" program.  Whereas NCLB is "punitive", "Race To The Top" provides money to stimulate good behavior.  We don't hear the differences in scale and funding between these two programs.  If we dared police the rhetoric for consistency we would have to conclude that for Black people - the claim that " the quantity of MONEY proves a politician's concern for our community" is not true.   Obama's marketing forces that are embedded within our community are singing the praises of a $4.35 billion program (over 4 years), distributed only to the states that "win" the funding.

Nearly 10 years ago I listened as NEA president Reg Weaver made frequent visits to the "Bev Smith Radio Show" to plot how his organization was going to undermine NCLB as he solicited support from the Black community to join him.  Today there is no active opposition to NCLB and instead we have active MARKETING of the present occupants of the White House and his policies.

The Vernacular Of "Pawn In The Game"

Within the Black community the tales of how "the system" plots against our interests and that we must fight (the Republicans) are easily heard.

In as much as the "recorders of the narrative" are also embedded operatives pushing this agenda we rarely hear the point of how the ACTIVE political and ideological motions as orchestrated by the prevailing powers ultimately frame the outcomes that are experienced within our community.

Instead of being "pawns" - the inferior victims of the schemes hosted by someone else with nefarious intentions - the more accurate model is "co-conspirators".  We live with the proceeds of our PARTNERSHIP and the residual impact of the "opposition" firing upon its own IDEOLOGICAL ADVERSARIES.

It should come as no surprise that "Lampblack Yellow Journalist Press" and their "Black Blogger Understudies" talk more about the enemies of progressives and Democrats than they do about the cancer cells inside of our own body.   They are merely subsets of the larger progressive-fundamentalist movements and thus THEIR enemies are one in the same as the larger movement's enemies.

The same people who show outraged curiosity as to why a South Korean hair care magazine has  so many faces of Black females inside and words written in Korean fail to see that this merely provides evidence of their target of conquest - the Black CONSUMER.   They are giving the Black consumer what they want - service for their hair in exchange for money.

What does the frequent presence of "threats" that are external to our community that dominate the "Black press" indicate as their political and ideological interests?

ANSWER:  They are stroking the resentment and hatred that is in our people - knowing that we are moved a greater distance by our "fear and hatred" than what the lack of management infrastructure can afford us to move productively.

As quite as it is kept the principles laid out in the "Willie Lynch Letter" are captured with more fidelity by "our friends" than our popular enemies.

Those who ultimately seek our vote and our unity see that both are more easily acquired without necessitating our actual uplift.  The claimed INTENTION for uplift works just as well.

As long as the "community organizing division" and the "performance appraisal committee" are one in the same - in their function as the "Executive Compensation Committee", everyone in the executive suite will receive a raise from the committee - regardless of the performance of the "corporation".
