Thanks to my recent purchase of the Roku Internet Television player I have access to thousands of video information sources that have proved to be very enlightening.
To see historical greats alive in film footage, conducting the research that brought them to fame is awesome.
Though the subject of the documentary was "The Negro Assists America's Wartime Efforts" I believe that this misses the point. The more significant information that should be gathered from this historical footage is the presence of EDUCATIONAL OUTLETS as the critical gateway for productive use of the "equal brain and talents" possessed by the Black people on display. In addition there was abundant factories and machine shops which allowed these skilled practitioners to apply their expertise toward a productive end. They received salaries. They received knowledge from applied application. They assisted their nation in the war effort, supplying the goods and services that the war machine required.
Note how research that impacted the dietary habits and consumption is seen in these videos as well. Many of the items that we consume yet accept as the norm today are results of the applied research that came from these type of laboratories.
Today we need a revolution and a revitalization of this type of consciousness, allowing our people to be the primary agents of uplift toward the desired standard of living that is prevalent.
