Street Pirates Hit A Security Guard w/ An Assault Rifle 9 Times In Southwest Atlanta, Killing Him - There Will Be No Protests

Again - an explanation.

This post serves as a reference point for my own purposes.
I am making note about events that garner attention.  And those like the one depicted in the video above that pass by with a curious silence.

I once believed that crimes that were heinous and reminded the "Defenders Of The Black Community" of the assaults that were suffered during the Civil Rights Movement were the triggering events that would cause them to say "YOU are not going to treat our people like this!!!".

As I look at the actions and the victim who receives the assault, controlling for the race of the assailant - we indeed see that the same brutal actions - or lest call them "civil / human rights violations" are taking place against Black people today, just as they were at the height of the Civil Rights Movement. The key distinguishing attribute which governs the public response today though is not the "violation" but the ASSAILANT!!!

Simply put - two men can commit the very same assault upon Black people. They could go to the same gun store and purchase the exact same automatic weapon and ammunition.

As they set out in the Black community, separating from each other, and commit the fatal "civil rights violation" of MURDER - the primary attribute which would define why the "Protectors Of The Black Community" are silent on one incident but will rise up with moral outrage on the other is the status of the assailant and their ability to use this status for a larger purpose.

If you though that the supreme "larger purpose" was to "defend the honor and dignity of Black Life" you would be mistaken. This would be proven by a greater show of CONSISTENCY, regardless of who the assailant is.

In my assessment by treating each assailant equally there is a risk that a measure of SELF-INDICTMENT would have to be rendered as the most frequent assailant "comes from within".

The external assailant, however, allows those who are prone to wail about their commitment to defend our community to publicly demonstrate their commitment, no fear of ever being claimed to be "over doing it".

As I monitor the antics of people who think as such I note that they are going to always going to "major in the minors" - focusing on issues that allow them to make the maximum indictment against external threats while discounting the appraisal of this treat in the stack ranking of issues of importance that are negatively impacting our communities.

For communities like Southwest Atlanta to obtain the "Safe Streets" that they desire those who seek such peace must make EQUAL all threats to those who live within.
