More from Ron Daniel's Vantage Point Artice: Blacks And The Chicago's Mayors Race
As the scramble to succeed him unfolds in a city that is majority Black and Brown, any possibility of an African American recapturing City Hall has been rendered improbable by Willie Lynch Syndrome. There are twenty candidates in a crowded field including Mr. Emanuel. While a group of community leaders have embraced veteran Congressman Danny Davis, three other prominent African Americans have also declared their candidacies – State Senator James Meeks, former U.S. Senator Carol Moseley Braun, outgoing U.S. Senator Roland Burris as well as three lesser known African Americans. That is seven African Americans in a field of twenty. Blacks constitute roughly 30% of the electorate with Latinos comprising a slightly higher percentage (Latinos have three candidates in the race). It does not take a rocket scientist to understand that under these circumstances, it will be virtually impossible for an African American, or a Latino candidate for that matter, to become Mayor. Barring the success of legal challenges, Rahm Emanuel is likely to become the next Mayor of a predominantly Black and Brown city -- aided by Willie Lynch Syndrome!
I cite the distressing situation in Chicago because it is symptomatic of a broader problem in Black America, the absence of political systems and processes to develop Black agendas that reflect the community’s interest and regulate/coordinate the selection of candidates for office based on a Black agenda. The Willie Lynch Syndrome is not only alive and well in the politics of Chicago, it is rampant in Black communities across the country where individual “negro ambition” often outweighs the interest of the community. For example, former Congressman Harold Ford of Memphis was replaced by a liberal-progressive White candidate (who is apparently serving the community reasonably well) because several Black candidates “popped up” to run for the seat. The outcome was predictable with no mutually agreed upon process for narrowing the field to one or two candidates. The Black vote was splintered between the various aspiring Negroes, and a White candidate won the seat.
I AGREE WITH RON DANIELS ON THIS ONE POINT BUT NOT ON "HIS" VERSION OF "THE BLACK AGENDA"
From the article:
I cite the distressing situation in Chicago because it is symptomatic of a broader problem in Black America, the absence of political systems and processes to develop Black agendas that reflect the community’s interest and regulate/coordinate the selection of candidates for office based on a Black agendaRon Daniels is correct that the situation in Chicago is symptomatic of a broader problem in Black America. HE is talking about a failure to remain "unified" within the American Political Domain.
I am talking about the gross failure of the progressive political machine that he is focused upon to:
- Deliver Safe Streets in our community
- Manage our schools to provide universal Quality Education
- Support economic policies that render Thriving Local Economies
- Enforce cultural norms that lead to Healthy Lifestyles & Relationship outcomes
Ron Daniels and other Black Quasi-Socialist Progressive-Fundamentalist Racism Chasers only have the INTENTION of doing all of these things. They lack the human resource and institutional MANAGEMENT skills to bring these points into fruition. As long as Black people are ideologically unified behind this INTENTION Mr Daniels and others in the Black Progressive Establishment Overlay are quite content. Their goal is struggle and unity.
Incompetency In Human Recourse and Institutional Management
I heard one progressive blogger say that a second progressive blogger said "Until I see Black Conservatives take control over a Black community and deliver the results that they are always critical about they are just talking theory". (I will protect the confidentiality of Prometheus 6 by not mentioning his name explicitly since I heard this second hand from the author of the "Mirror On America" blog. :-) ).
What appears to be on surface a slap against the vile "Black Conservative" is actually a charge that the Black Community is ungovernable. The standard techniques as identified from management and social sciences don't quite work for the Negro.
The constant references to "Slavery" as a put down and "Willie Lynch" as the reference to how the Negro can be manipulated by his emotions and natural grievances and envy related to skin color and materialism rings true in the mind of the person who makes use of these tools to manipulate the IGNORANT. This is because they are among the most frequent users of these tools and know them to be true.
Do you see the quote listed above on the "Right Hand Frame Of Consciousness:"
Antidote to the use of the tactics of FEAR as propagated by 'confidence men' to prompt a people toward a certain direction that is against their permanent interests is the development within these masses a base of Knowledge. When this knowledge is applied to their daily lives this builds up their Competencies. As a result their "Standard Of Living" is increased toward the a favorable level.
This is the antidote to the tools that are assembled to keep the ignorant in their present state but performing as the confidence ask them to.
Competency Development At The Periphery - A Management Overlay That Coordinates The Flow Of Messages And Resources Bi-Directionally Along The Hierarchy
The greatest fear of a confidence man who has not assembled a transparent and reputable organization that relies on the strength and intelligence of the people instead of their anger and grievances is that the central powers will be lost as there is a splintering among factions at the periphery. Their struggle is encapsulated within a central command and control archetype which provides the masses a purpose.
The present "Black community development" activism is a wholly political one. This effort has been fused to the Democratic Party and the progressive ideological underpinnings. There is no evidence of a structure in the lower portion of the diagram. This is the TRANSPARENT management framework that might be forced one day to put "Progressivism On Trial" and forcing those within the community domain to PROVE that this is the best methodology to obtain our permanent interests.
If there is ever such a convention the one mandate that I would have is that no mention of THE ADVERSARY be allowed within their "PowerPoint presentation". Instead they must be forced to define what they did offensively and provide the data that shows organic growth.
Instead today's "Black Agenda Setting" conferences (see Al Sharpton's National Action Network gathering in the church in Harlem from this past summer) the two major takeaways were:
- The threat from the Conservatives
- How it is important for Blacks to participate in the "American Political Domain" by voting to keep the Democrats in power in November 2010.
As long as they are allow to frame the entire agenda in a manner that is favorable to their ideology - and everyone in the room agrees to go along with such a high rate of complicity - you can be sure that nothing is going to change within the Black community over time. They don't want CHANGE. They wish to retain UNITY AROUND THEIR IDEOLOGY!!!
