Question: Which Of These Events Have The "Civil Rights Pharisees" Up In Arms?

You probably do not have the Flash Player (Get Adobe Flash Player Here) installed for your browser or the video files are misplaced on your server!

As I watch all of the events that take place in our community I struggle to rationalize it all. My natural tendency is to make sense of it all by attempting to define priorities and then sort all of these issues accordingly.

The reason why my models are not gaining traction in my understanding is because some people thrive off of IRRATIONALITY as they junk that for the sake of UNITY ENFORCEMENT.

The videos listed above represent recent events in metro-Atlanta with a few other clips thrown in just to give additional context.

In regards to the Civil Rights Pharisees their behavior is worthy of scrutiny. Now keep in mind that I see them as individuals with no particular official force of power beyond the confidence that some people place in them. As a result I don't expect anything in particular from them such as "why aren't you out there protesting this other issue?".

Instead my goal is to model what does set them off and then place these points into the larger set of NEEDS in our community. From this a reasonable person can evaluate their alignment with these needs and assign credibility to them accordingly. I don't confuse their expression of their right to free speech in adopting the indictment of the day with any mandate that they speak out against something else.

Racist Judge Called Out By Bigoted Judges

  • National Action Network wages protests against a judge who was recently taken down on drug and prostitution charges.  His mistress noted his racist views against Black male defendants.  The Civil Rights Pharisees (seem to have) plan(s) use this information to seek new trials and sentencing arrangements for Black males who were tried by the judge.
  • Concerned Black Clergy Of Atlanta speak out against the "witch hunt" in the Atlanta schools cheating scandal
Analysis:   From a transactional stand point the red hot evidence of a judge having racist views that are applied to Black male defendants that stand before his court is a grand slam for those who have a "Michelle Alexander" view of the US criminal justice system?   They are not going to allow this one to go by without notice because this hearsay information from a confidant of this ONE judge can be effectively used to interpolate the views of many other judges.

As we move from transaction to pattern, however, this does not explain the truth as is seen on the streets:  Black male criminal defendants DO CRIMINAL ACTS that warrant them company in the court system.  I would even go so far as personally supporting a statistical appraisal of the "racist" judge's sentencing patterns:
  • His own sentencing broken down by race
  • His sentencing as compared to other judges in the same circuit
There would need to be significant discrepancies for any reopening of the sentencing phase of these trials.

My frustration is that those who practice "Left Wing Injustice" will hype up these notions of "racism" in the system to obfuscate away from one central fact:   The GUILT of these people per the presence of victims is not at play.  Only the length of the sentencing.  Sadly - the fact that the balance of these victims are Black. These same Civil Rights Pharisees claim to be protecting the interests of the Black community pretend that their perpetual quest to regulate the "fairness" of the criminal justice system but are silent upon the fate of the victims that have the misfortune of living in close proximity to Street Pirates.

Worst yet - in as much as these "Street Pirates" are formed by the benign neglect as exerted by these same community leaders their actions against the judicial system is merely cover for their failure to manage the communities that they purport to protect.  The sign of a racist judge allows for an EXTERNAL indictment.

The Atlanta Public Schools Cheating Scandal
In Atlanta the news media has to be careful in how much it leans upon the Black Establishment protected elected officials.  Those same people who will call for the arrest and impeachment of their enemies are quick to point out "conspiracies to silence Black leadership" if their friends get in trouble in their official capacity.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has been the setting of several such protests.  Now that the AJC has moved its headquarters from downtown to the northside the travel distance has reduced the number of these protests.

As I think back about 7 years ago there was a constant drum beat about "the Houston Miracle".  This was reference to a scandal that occurred in the city of Houston by which standardized test results, attendance records and school transfer information was used to paint a  picture that the school system experienced a massive state of reform.  The face of its superintendent was applied to the scandal.  A man named Rod Paige.   Paige is a Black man.

The problem is that Paige was also the Education Secretary for President George W Bush.  He was charged with implementing the No Child Left Behind program.

These fateful elements made Rod Paige an "unprotected man".  A "free range prey".   Two radio programs come to mind with regard to the incessant repetition about "The Houston Miracle" - the late morning show on Atlanta's WAOK and the "Bev Smith" syndicated talk show.    At the height of the debate over NCLB where Black children were used as political pawns by both sides - there was no concern expressed by the CBC (this being BOTH the "Concerned Black Clergy" and the "Congressional Black Caucus" that a BLACK MAN'S honor is being soiled for political gamesmanship.

The irony of the "Atlanta Miracle" is that the same constructs are in place but the loyalties are so different.  While I personally like Atlanta's superintendent Beverly Hall too much has recently unwound while she was at the helm for her to continue effectively.  The modification of answers on standardized tests to improve school performance undercut her previous promotions of improved academic results.  I don't believe that Dr Hall changed these grades.  She is responsible for the organizational failure that allowed this to happen.  Still I will go so far as to say that another school system that scoops her up will receive a superintendent that has far more ribbons than bones in the closet.  Dekalb County would be wise to hire her.

The Concerned Black Clergy
Each Monday the "Concerned Black Clergy" met to discuss current events and agree upon a public stance as much as possible.   I am sure that all of them read the paper and watch the news.

Without fail they speak out against the low hanging fruit within their ballywick but are strangely silent against modern day commissions of attacks upon Black people that today have a Black assailant as a variable.

A Black college student was SHOT IN THE FACE and murdered at Gordon College - located to the south between Atlanta and Macon GA.

The news that a Black man was shot in the face with a shotgun would have triggered mass outrage "back in the day".    "We want JUSTICE!!".   "THEY can't do this to US!!!' would be the cry about the level of contempt for the equal human being that was shot in the face.    Unfortunately that one variable snatches all exploitability from the incident.  The CBC instead sits silent, waiting for this to clear out of the news cycle as they hope for more red meat to come their way later on.

I continue to say that their over-reaction to the "red meat" is merely coping skills.   When they can say "SEE we told you that racism is the root of all the other injuries that you in the media harp upon.  Focus upon this, news media, just like you focus upon making Black people into criminals by your incessant showing".
