Net Neutrality: The Left-wing/Anti-Corporate Social Justice Movement Comes To The Technology Space

"Net Neutrality" or "The Candy Man"?
I am struggling to understand which of these tales looms larger as trumped up threats to the Black community?
In as much as this is my profession I can't help but notice that the argument for "Net Neutrality" morphs based on the agenda of the particular person at hand.

I wonder if anyone else will notice that the good Mr. Rucker argues for "open Internet" as a means of expressing unaltered conversation among people in America YET he itemizes his own past efforts to use the Internet run coordinated efforts to attack speech that he does not like.

* The CBC partnering with Fox News is a THREAT to Black people or to BLACK Progressive-Fundamentalists while saying NOTHING as a Democratic senatorial candidate in Georgia brought TI, Young Jeezy and Ludcaris on stage in a "Get The Black Folks Out To Vote For The Democrats" rally?
* The coordination of large crowds of Black folks going down to Jena LA to do the Electric Slide?
* Getting the neo-Klansman Glenn Beck stripped of 100 Advertisers while arguing that Black Progressive media outlets don't receive enough advertising dollars

Mr Rucker doesn't support "free speech". He merely wants to deploy the standard 'anti-capitalist' machinations in which the government needs to have the upper hand on the corporations that dare to do WHAT HE IS DOING to his ideological enemies.

All the while we are seeing a steady stream of tremendous bandwidth increases in both wired and wireless Internet/mobile phone access as technology advances we not only told that there is a conspiracy to suppress speeds - Mr Rucker is of the mindset that tells us that the UNITED STATES IS BEHIND THE REST OF THE WORLD in our Internet speed, this due to greedy communications corporations that need to be REGULATED. Bull!!!!

There is no other nation with the population and the land mass of America has more people on the Internet with access to the speed and quality of service as we do.

Notice all of the most popular applications - FaceBook, Google, and various Microsoft apps. ALL OF THEM are made in America. FB is the #1 traffic source running on many other nation's Internets around the world.

Mr Rucker (and Bill Moyers) are merely attempting to bring the theories of left-wing "Social Justice" to the world of Technology. This is where the notions of "The Digital Divide" came from. Notice that while other innovators address NEEDS by developing a cheaper solution or improve the distribution system, profiting from the advancement - those who hoisted the "Digital Divide" concept upon us as a community merely sought to fold their "struggle" into a new domain. Have Mr Rucker talk about the wasted MILLIONS in "Municipal WiFi" that was all the rage as a means to fight against the evil corporations about 3 years ago. Where are these BRILLIANT solutions today? THEY ARE ALL SHUT DOWN!!

As much as he and other leftists stand against BUSINESS they don't seem to have a good track record when they dare enter into it. Unlike their perpetual activism a BUSINESS MUST RECEIVE MORE MONEY IN THAN IT SPENDS. The receipt of this money is a function of the VALUE AND UTILITY that the customer base sees in the product.
