Scenes From The "One Progressive Nation" Rally - And A White Progressive Who Analyzed It Correctly

You probably do not have the Flash Player (Get Adobe Flash Player Here) installed for your browser or the video files are misplaced on your server!

Is I listen to Progressive-Fundamentalists in various media and print venues I note that there are two classes of them:

  1. Those who use some other "interest group" as a cover for their own progressivism (ie: Environmentalist, Black Activists, Criminal Justice Activists)
  2. Those who don't have to use any cover.  They are just committed progressives
I place the majority of the "Progressives who are Democrats who are Black" into the first column.  They realize that the average Black rank & file member would not accept them if they took off their "racial mask", pretending that what they do is for the benefit of Black community and instead began to sell themselves as outright and unattached progressives.  It is this tie-in and draw upon the Black community, selling us upon their benefits that allows them to retain their entrenched position.

One only need read "The Invisible Man" or the works from George S. Schuyler to make note that the Progressive/Socialist has been attempting to use the grievances of Black people as a draw upon Black people into their movement for more than 100 years.

This is why I go out of my way to do research in hard-left magazines.   I can find a clearer strategy of what is going on in front of our faces from "Dollars and Sense" or "International Socialist Review" or "The Nation" magazines regarding how the Black "struggle" plugs into the broader PROGRESSIVE movement than we will ever hear from the mouths of Black Progressives who are operating upon this strategy.

The way I see it:
  • These main-line Progressive oracles control the ultimate direction of the Progressive movement - the Strategy
  • The Black Establishment elements are merely Tactical elements
    • "Washington Watch", "Bev Smith Show", "Ebony", "Jet",  the "AfroSpear" blogger alliance, "TheRoot.com" are tactical tools used to keep the Black community "ideologically unified" with a steady stream of pro-Progressive, anti-Conservative messages.  Most of all they must keep the Black community's attention OFF OF the fact that the Progressives ALREADY run all of the institutions within the Black community.  Thus for these oracles to begin to criticize our condition as a function of the FAILURES OF THESE INSTITUTIONS WITHIN.................they would have to functionally CRITICIZE THEMSELVES.   This would lead those who are intellectually honest and ideologically transparent to begin to PUT PROGRESSIVISM ITSELF ON TRIAL
If you can't see this then you are blind.

Video #1:  Harry Belafonte
I have to admit - Harry B made me laugh and feel sorry for him.   In talking about the expanded war in Afghanistan he couldn't bring himself to say the name of the Commander in Chief who did the expansion.  Instead he said "The President".

When he laid out a litany of all of the threats that we as free Americans suffer this big build up caused me to bust out in laughter as he affixed the TEA PARTY as the biggest threat.   No mention of the proposed wire-tapping regulation of new Internet communications applications put forth by the Obama administration last week.

Video #2: Marian Wright Edleman
Mrs Edleman's speech was clearly different.  What was cast as a "unity" speech where all Americans were called to join together to provide every child with a quality education was merely an attempt to discard the FACT that today most of these failing school systems represent a victory.  You see IF we roll back the clock to 30 years ago and make note of these same type of speeches given - there were calls to have "FAVORABLE PEOPLE" put in control over the then failing school systems that were discarding away too many Black children.

By any measure one would have to admit that the goals of the Educational Activism movement lead by Ms Edleman and other progressives have been won.  The only problem is that we see that their real interests was POWER over the institution of education.  The material receipt of educational excellence by Black children, which was a RESIDUE of their main line agenda did not occur.

Suffice it to say - with the failure of the mainline agenda (putting their people into place) having failed to result in the delivery of quality education for Black and Brown children - this does not trigger the demand for the mass dismissal of the school officials and more importantly the purge of the ideological based strategy that brought them about.   They instead seek to STRUGGLE ON!!!!

This time they hope to  NATIONALIZE their efforts.  Placing the entire nation on the hook for insuring that the students at the periphery can indeed read and right.

Notice that there was no mention about the recent political shake up in the city of Washington DC and how this showed that the people wanted a jobs program more than educational reform. They would rather be RESPECTED by the political establishment, the RESULTS that were delivered are ultimately immeterial.

The most DISRESPECTFUL words said by Mrs Edlman on that stage was BLACK CHILDREN WHO ATTEND SCHOOLS RUN BY FAVORABLE PEOPLE CAN'T READ AT THEIR GRADE LEVEL.

I can think of nothing more "disrespectful" to the Black community than the machine that allows this theft of our human resource potential to continue.

I wonder if Mrs Edleman would agree to consider extinguishing the elements of dysfunctional culture and ideology that is found among the "equal human beings" that are in these failing schools?  We can understand that the White people who vacate these schools are called "racists".  What should we call the "Black people who can" that move away from these same schools as they seek out environments that produce better results?   When I hear the educational activists seriously consider regulating certain behaviors out of existence, adding this to their calls for more cash - then I will believe that they are interested in something more than making indictments.

The Unattached Progressive In Video #3:

I credit the man in the last video for staying true to his ideological entrapment and telling the truth about how he felt on that warm October day based on what he heard from the stage.

Sadly the sold out state of his progressive brothers and sisters on stage had them unable to attack the VIOLATIONS that they have suffered from the Federal Democrats including President Obama. They all realized that they are more likely to receive personal attacks from the audience for criticizing Obama for failing them on their progressive agenda than applause for reminding them what their progressive agenda is and how it must be defended.

I don't need to agree with a single viewpoint from this man or from Amy Goodman to show my respect for their consistency to their cause.
