Earl Ofari Hutchinson: Lack of new black Dem leaders forces first lady to campaign
I originally entered the name of "Eugene Robinson" as the author of this piece instead of Earl Ofari Hutchinson. In truth the function that they serve is indistinguishable. They are merely articulate spinmiesters who's job is to filter the view of national politics as it relates to the progressives and the Democratic Party in a favorable view. No amount of failure of our interests will be seen as the fault of these incumbents. Instead the failure is due to the lack of commitment to equality and justice by the broader nation.
In his latest article Earl Ofari Hutchinson notes the situation that the Democratic Party and the Black Progressive Political establishment finds it self. With the Democratic Party finding itself in a hole it needs to motivate the Black voter out to the polls. Mr Hutchinson makes the point that the same tired old faces associated with the Civil Rights Movement are still tapped because there are so few voices from the Black community that have been prepared to take on the mission. First Lady Michelle Obama is force to step in.
When I read the views of Mr Hutchinson, Mr Robinson and others in which they appear (to some of you at least) to be making criticism about the state of Black power and politics I see that they are unwilling to make note of how much they played in shaping these present circumstances. These same voices that are listed in the article are also responsible for the previous activism that arranged the present control over the institutions within.
Both Earl Ofari Hutchinson and Eugene Robinson and the bulk of the other "Progressive who are Democrats who are Black" opinion writers in the newspapers are directly responsible for where we stand today. This is because they have been serving their role as a tentacle of the same establishment that they are critical of for failing to develop new voices.
With so many of the low hanging fruit of outright civil rights violations being regulated by the government.......with so many violations of Black people taking place by other Black people.........with elements of their machine in power as the forces who should be called out to "do something!!!".............these progressive operative voices find themselves in a bind.
They have yielded all claims of transparency to the notion that their actions are solely for the advancement of the Black community. Instead they are 100% operatives for Progressive ends through the Democratic Party. When we hear Eugene Robinson taunting the GOP to compete for the Black vote he only details what the GOP must do to change in order to win over the Black vote.
The truth is that despite the outright monopoly that the Democratic Party and the Progressives have over the Black community's institutions and vocal chords - Robinson is desperate to figure out a way forward. Since he is not going to actively lobby to hold the Democrats accountable and he, most assuredly is NOT going to campaign on behalf of the GOP, the only alternative that he has (per his mental conditioning) is to tell the Republicans
The "Black Obama Press Gathers In DC To Help The President"
The White House invited an array of "Progressives who are Democrats who are Black" to the White House to insure that they amplify their talking points in support of the present "Get the Black Vote Out To Vote For The Democrats On November 2".
It comes as no surprise to me to see the bias in the content of these propaganda sources throughout the year. These gatherings provide them with the coordinated mission that they operate upon. Their daily submissions of Anti-Republican banter is merely the execution of the plan. It is the Black rank & file that must force them to see that 'Anti-Republican is not equal to Pro-Black Community Development". They are merely operatives that retain the position of power for the Black Incumbent Machine. Period.
In their brand of personality politics "Stand With Obama" is their key calling card. Since the Republicans are threatening to assault the policies of President Obama, Black people should come out and vote so that the Democratic team can retain their power. Please note - Black people aren't engaged in the policy debate between the Democratic candidate and the Republican. It is a foregone conclusion that the Black voter is going to vote for the Democrat. Thus with Black voters it is a matter of getting them out to vote.
When you listen to Eugene Robinson you are made to believe that this is the fault of the Republican party for not engaging the Black community. It is an inaccurate analysis.
It is important that we get everyone to focus on the fact that Black people initially engaged in POLITICAL ACTIVISM in order to fix certain key issues WITHIN our communities and for the benefit of our people. The hijacking today is from the ranks of the Black Press operatives. They want the Black community to look past the failures of the incumbent machine and instead engage in the fateful game of TEAM SPORTS PLAY.
To them the threat that Obamacare might be repealed if the GOP takes the House and Senate is a more clear and present indictment than to note that despite their control over the educational and local economic institutions wthin the Black community they have not developed any platform of organic competencies within these zones so that we might be able to fund and service these needs.
If it were not the case that the early stages of this struggle was for control over these local institutions with the promises that the community would receive the benefit then this latest upscaling would not be as offensive to me. In this two step move they effectively neutralize the due criticism for the local failure by dangling the carrot outward toward the national political battle. The community is made to put their hopes for actual benefit on forbearance. It is now linked to Obama's fate and that of the national Democratic Party.
In summary Mr Hutchinson's notation of the lack of new Black leadership is in error because it is not BLACK LEADERSHIP that we have.
We ONLY have BLACK DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP that are fused to the party framework.
Black Leadership that is independent of this American Political Domain would be forced to attack the establishment powers that are failing our communities and would have to develop the strength of the community by separating its loyalties from American Politics.
