Carmelo Anthony embroiled in deeply stupid Twitter controversy
I do not use Twitter.
I stuck my toe in the water in order to understand the function of the service.
I can't see how it is a good idea to have a service that allows your intemperate thoughts to be instantly broadcast to hundreds of people.
It is even more insane to me to see a celebrity or politician with tens of thousands of followers to make use of this service.
This seems to me to be a disaster waiting to happen.
Such is the case with Carmelo Anthony.
First he has friction introduced into his marriage after a former sexual partner ran her mouth about him.
Then he offers money up to anyone who will slap her.
Delete your Twitter account while you can.
(Note - the element of Twitter that pisses me off the most is to see the number of people who syndicate articles from web sites without them providing analysis of the opinions in the article, thus contributing some "value add". I am made to wonder if they can add any value or if they are merely echo chambers)

You just got to know how it works, and use it like a tool. Some of us only foward articles we have read which may be of interest to likeminded followers. Not screening followers and those you follow is not wise. I love Twitter.

Often there are more Tweets that forward the propaganda article - unchallenged - than there are critical responses that push back upon the logical leap that the biased writers so often try to pull over our heads.
That's why we use tags like #tcot or #tlot. If there's no tag, it's probably trash. There are ways of filtering out things. There are a lot more folk on twitter than when I started, and most don't even know how it works.
